Jokes aside, too many fishy things going on during this Olympics, or at least I have the impression they are more foregrounded this time (those Badminton players, that GB cycler, now this). But taking into account that the Olympics are more a trademark than anything else right now, for some it seems fair to occasionally drop some values if it favours their interests.
And I honestly do not know if in this case Spain lost on purpose. I hardly watched the match through stream (in awkward conditions xD) and from I saw Brazil didn't seem that much of a fiery opponent and Spain seemed to be having a comfortable +10 lead.

Most of these players most likely played the match they lost in 2005 and were eager to take revenge and, thus, wanted to play the most time possible against Germany. In order to 'humillate'? A risky use of words there as, as I have just stated, 'avenge' would have been more appropiate, and it is a behaviour/desire we see in most if not all sports without affecting sportsmanship or fair play most of the times.
Now a Spanish supporter could simply post the 2008 Olympic final match and you would see lots of complaints about referees not calling the US players's travelling.
Does it mean or proof something? Unfortunately, yes. It would proof that there are still things to fixed in order for sports to develop in the fairest way possible.
