i am interested in knowing what game HLTV.org user's will be going to!
if you are not interested in cs:go or csp thats fine, I'm not here to push people into one game or the other but please dont flood the thread with "CSGO SUCKS 1.6 FOREVER" we all know 1.6 is a superior game but thats not the question I'm asking.

CSPromod is just without sense. I mean, if you like 1.6 stick to 1.6. Why would you change to Promod if it's not even better? Not all will switch obviously so the community will be even smaller in Promod than in 1.6. Also if everyone would switch it's at the same point where it is now and yeah, it's on it's way to die.

It's not without sense, its different graphics and the players usually judge by what they see.For me, its like this, i see 1.6 with better graphics and since 1.6 is the best there is, promod for me is like a big refresh.

I will, obviously, be following both games, but for what playing goes, I will be trying out CSPromod. I've been working somewhat closely with the developers lately and I know for a fact they have a lot in store after 1.09 gets released, which has gotten me interested.

CSP, no doubt! I've just tied it and I can tell that it's 1.6 with some additional things that will keep that game alive: some changes in maps, better graphics, you can see team's money etc.

no tournament will want to host 2 SEPARATE cs competitions ...as this is just bad for the scene ....and no tournaments will support CSP , while other tournaments support CS:GO ...its sad , i like CSP , but CS:GO has more potential, csgo can eventually become better than csp if valve updates it , and for that it needs full support.
everyone needs to think logically, yes csgo is bad at the moment, but it can become better as the first tournaments pass and major fixes are implemented ... eventually it will be the game we will love ....it just needs time

we played cs 1.6 for 5-6 years, do you think we'll wait till we're 40 to see cs:go get good? I think about right now, while I'm playing and enjoying playing. For now, cs 1.6 is the best so I keep playing it.
and the "more tournaments for csgo" argument is shitty. it's not like we've played at ESWC or IEM, we've actually never gotten money out of cs. so why should we consider big tournaments as an argument for choosing a game?

since CS:Source released after a long interval, the community dispersed..... if both the games release together, i wont mind playing both, since both are recieving updates and getting better by each update...... it wud be better to see more than 1 hardcore FPS games in big tournaments......

I downloaded the game, typed in my launch options, started the game for the first time, typed in the same sensitivity I use in 1.6 and viola! sensitivity and mouse movement are the same as in 1.6, Source, CS:GO.

Edit: As for CS:GO, this reminds me back in the past when few players from 1.6 moved to Source and failed miserably. We'll see this time if CS:GO is any different. I think however, that a large community is important for eSports to succeed. Without a large community like 1.6, it will fail. Maybe not in the beginning, but it will fail eventually like what happened to Source. Either way I ain't playing it since I don't find it fun.
I also play Quake anyway so it doesn't really matter. ^^

I won't really play either (not into cs much anymore) but if I were to play cs, I'd play csgo. CSP has no backing and will not get anywhere. It won't have any big tournaments or sponsors. It will be even less popular than 1.6 is now. And 1.6 now is pretty much dead, in terms of competition.

i will allways play 1.6 until last channel is dead or no public is up. Regarding competition and esport, i rather pick Starcraft2, much better game, not better than 1.6 but the next best. check it out, buy SC2 wings of liberty, play the engaging missions get hooked up, and transistion into battle net to try your own strats vs real time opponents in your own level until you go big bigger baddest, if you enjoy action, this game wont bore you. lots of actions and decisions required by you. ahuumm, i rather try a stint at csgo if I had to like most actual pros are doing anyway, since they got so many devs working on it all the time and the money and valve backing it up, CSP is a way better concept and idea, but ideas needs to get carried out or they will just stay as that. But my higher intelligent vision tells me neither csgo or csp will ever be as big as 1.6 was, like dominating and so, maybe a "summer hit" at best. goodluck everybody choosing games if you want to compete in pro, but keep playing 1.6 forever
edit- my high Intel vison is just my mind btw wich fails alot, id love to see csgop go big, like reallly big, but i doubt it. but i go buy a copy and check out wtf its all about and hang around to see if it survives
