How to make PING lower than 5 on LAN ?!
I know there are tons of posts and threads around the internet for this question lol.

I know how to make a good lan server with a ping around 5-10, but I've seen in the big tournamets the ping is 2-3 at most.

Tried creating a server using HLDS, but still the same. Is there a way to make the ping lower than 5, like in WCG, ESWC etc.. ?!

i guess that with better cables and net cards with lower latency you can make it lower but as cosho said there is not diference between 2-5 ping

Setup a proper server using some form of linux, good kernel, pingboost 3 and so on =)

btw, yesterday i had ping of 1 in online server

Default Windows Server = 5-7ping
Default Windows Server + PingBooster = 3-6ping

Linux based Server = 3-5
Lunux based Server + PingBooster = 0-3

This is of course assuming you have good hardware and correct network settings and architecture.

these are the rates,

Sv_maxupdaterate 101
sv_maxrate 25000
sys_ticrate 10000

But i dono if this will bring it below 5.. but definitely 5-8

Else try what GoMeZ said above, sounds legit. And u can also try openign windows media player in the background (host) i dono if that still wrks
