2012-08-15 07:24:57
That's a laptop? If yes, do you have normal fps for 5-10 minutes and then it drops to 25-30 ?
2012-08-15 07:25:48

I believe it's a beta issue, according to research it seems like the problem mostly lies with ATI/AMD users and windows XP. Though not everyone has the same problem and even some nVidia users (and different operating systems) have the same problem.

There's enough hype about it to be fixed soon though, happens to a lot of games on beta or release.

For now try playing with the resolution settings to see if that helps and be sure to change the fps_max setting.

25k would be a safe bet for CS games.
2012-08-15 23:34:09
rate should be 80k in cs go, cmdrate 128 updaterate 128
2012-08-16 15:09:42
Yeap, I have good PC (AMD Phenom II x4 [3.01 GHz] and ATI Radeon HD 5700), but in Source and GO I have FPS like 60-100 :(

I just tried it earlier I had 130 fps with i7, GTX 560 and 6GB RAM. So I am not sure what the problem is, though that's what I found from looking it up for about 10 minutes.
2012-08-15 23:35:05
Maybe I should change my XP to Windows 7...

A lot of people who have problems on the steam forums seem to be using windows XP too. Maybe Valve just didn't build a large support for it considering there are 3 windows versions newer than it (vista, w7 and now w8).

It's all up in the air at the moment and Valve didn't seem to confirm the issue but hope for the best maybe they'll fix it soon and you won't have to update anything.

i5, 8gb ram, rad 6950 150 - 350 fps
2012-08-15 08:05:04
i3, ddr3,1333mhz,nvidia gts 450 1gb, 4b ram = 90-200 fps
2012-08-15 08:10:45
Guys, use Windows 7.

XP isn't built for these new graphic features.
2012-08-15 08:22:25
amd x4 3.6 Ghz, 12 GB ram @1800 Mhz, GTX 580, 160-220 fps
2012-08-15 08:23:27
this game fps is mostly based on your processor, yes, it's still beta, but it will be fixed on game launch, dunno why all ppl with strong PC have that problem, because i don't have that problem even tho i have low pc (2gb ram dual core e5200 2.50 ghz and nvidia gt9600 512mb), and i still got 90~150 fps on 640X480 resolution on medium settings.

My advice will be to lock your fps to fps_max 140 and see if you have stable fps, because it wil lb prety enough for decent gameplay

2012-08-15 23:31:12
No, you should be able to. Especially on that resolution! :-) It's still beta though, it should improve alot!
