impossible, according to a large chunk of users on here 1.6 will never die. /sarcasm
2012-08-17 17:14:15
well it wont actualy it doesnt matter if there is no pro scene but you can play it basicly forever
2012-08-17 17:16:53
Yeah, but he will never understand it,because he is stupid pro players follower
2012-08-17 17:38:15
lol i dont follow anyone. they are people just like you and me. i dont really care what neo ate for dinner or wat forest uses as a resolution. i follow competition for the sake of competition. 1.6 no longer has any.
2012-08-17 18:00:53
You are great
2012-08-17 18:08:53
It does have competition still. Not denying that it's slowed down this year but to be honest you just seem really bitter. I don't really know why. It's a game and people play games they like.
I don't think it should matter to you what 1.6 players think if you don't play 1.6. It makes no difference to you in any form. You should really admire our dedication if anything. Our passion should be admirable for a game that lasted so long.

2012-08-17 18:38:07
im not bitter at all. ive played CS since beta. i never touched source and havent yet touched CSGO. i have however accepted the fact that the competitive scene has moved on which is something a lot of people here can't seem to do.
theres a difference between dedication and clueless. i have no problem with people saying 1.6 is better, i agree, though i haven't played GO so my opinion is biased. what i think is hilarious is people whining about someone else's decision to change games, especially if this how that person earns an income.

Fair enough. You're right it's no one else's decision to make. Especially if it is their only marketable skill.
2012-08-17 20:45:34
What are you saying?
You cant find opponents in 1.6 that are good enough for you?
I can still find plenty of competition in 1.6.

2012-08-18 16:07:33
i have no idea how u gathered anything about my ability to find opponents from that. i havent even played CS in months lol. real life calls my friend
2012-08-18 18:43:00
NOOOOOOO ASSSHOOOOLEEEEE
i can't believe it how a VERY PRO team like ESC GAMING can play GO...

2012-08-17 21:19:25

If they want to force us they can pull the plug from 1.6.
They don't force you at all. You and only you are able to make that decision. Please stop with all this crap.

Again... NOBODY is forcing you to play CS:GO! You have the freedom to do whatever you want. If you don't want to play CS:GO then don't.. Is it really that hard to understand this?
Let me try to explain myself in a different context:
I can FORCE a girl to have sex with me which is also known as "raping".
But Valve can't rape you or do they?
hehe trololol

Wait.... how do professional teams effect what game you play?
No one is making you play go. :D
No one is making you play go. :D
2012-08-17 17:31:23
Maybe becuse I want to play CS only for money and then for fun?
2012-08-17 17:40:52
If your goal right now is to make money in counter strike I highly recommend you re consider your career choice. Lol
2012-08-17 17:44:34
That doesn't make sense. You still can play Cs 1.6, haha.
2012-08-17 17:35:09
Yes, I can, but it's in overall I mean about watching tournaments with CS 1.6 etc.
2012-08-17 17:41:34
Sorry but why would tournaments care about you? You're nothing for them anyways so yeah.
2012-08-17 17:42:30
so you basicly say that people who have played 10 000e tournaments till now did not play for the money at all? JUST4FUNZ ? yeah right..
2012-08-17 19:44:45
Of course they player for money too but they played also because they love CS 1.6.
Right now they don't like the game (most) but still playing because of money.

you keep saying "force" but you dont know what that means
2012-08-18 01:37:12

"To everyone out there interested in the future of our team - we do not quit CS 1.6, we have started practicing CS:GO right now to see how it is, and to be ready - if most of the events will switch to the new game.
If there will be any 1.6 event out there in the world we will be very happy to participate in that. Unfortunately the situation is as it is and we are also very unhappy about us being forced to leave aside the game that we all love and that has been part of us since over a decade.
It's been the greatest time for us but we have to move on and stay open minded for anything that the future might bring to us. Be gentle in your judgement!
Peace! :)"

oh im sorry, are you making your living off of cs1.6?
do you depend on tournaments and sponsors for your wellbeing?
are you a pro 1.6 player?
no, so noone is forcing YOU to do anything

Nope, game is only fun/maybe money addition for me.
More or less like.
Nope, but that was my goal some time ago.
Yes, but I want to keep track of the pro players/scene and play the game which they're will be playing.
Can you respect my opinion? :)

your opinion is that valve is standing behind you every time you want to play 1.6 and smacking you on the back of the head.
if you want to play 1.6 then play it.
again, no one is forcing you to do anything

I don't want only to play a game, I really want to watch CS 1.6 matches on some big tournaments, right now CS 1.6 is dying because of this game called CS:GO, why they didn't made a remake CS 1.6 with better graphic, it's stil possible to do on Source engine, in example CSPromod.
When they will do CS like this I'll switch immediately to it, right now I'm playing CS:GO because many CS 1.6 players switched to it cause there is no tournaments with good money prizes.

CS 1.6 isn't dying because of CSGO. Get to grips. It isn't dying, the competitive scene is being dropped from multiple tournaments for a plethora of reasons (spectators, sponsors, staleness). The fact of the matter is that 1.6 is losing players quicker than its gaining them, CSGO is only an additional reason as to why the numbers will dwindle further.
Valve clearly stated they are uninterested in creating a game similar to CSS or 1.6 and they have managed that, and through the help of the community they've patched the game and will continue to do so over time. Instead of bitching constantly, try supporting a game that needs feedback.
Still find it hard to believe how narrow minded people can be to only support CS1.6 when all the counterstrike titles have the exact same format. Yes you may not like playing it, but what is the difference in watching one version from another? even the maps are nearly identical!

i love every team that transfers to CSGO gets the " i lost all respect" treatment , perfect logic...
soon, there will be no more teams to respect .....

"The Golde Five"? more like The Golden Four
2012-08-17 17:28:15

We Made Fox hates CS:GO's de_inferno O_o
2012-08-17 17:40:43

2012-08-17 17:50:30
Waouh, it really hurted you all that hate on your men crush, isn't it ?
2012-08-18 01:06:36
Very much.
2012-08-18 01:44:33
Good and wise decision, imo. Also, instead of flaming CS:GO we should try to look @ it as a new game without comparing it with 1.6 . CS 1.6 is,was and will always be a better game gameplay-wise but now its time for CS:GO to shine. Also, good to see HLTV.org back in continuous action with no dull no-news days :)
2012-08-17 18:06:46
Expected.
2012-08-17 18:29:25
hmmm.. most of teams going to switch in go so not big surprise :)

so much naive people saying "money money money" when EVERYTHING IS ABOUT MONEY... do you fucking think all of the teams played 10 000e tournaments just for fun ? And that they train 8 hours per day just for fun ? fuck no. They fucking trained for all the money that was in cs 1.6 and the same goes for GO... grow up with your little corrupted brains
2012-08-17 19:47:33
This topic is full of idiots no team can live from playing 1.6 now do you want to see them like selling clothes like walle or playing videogames?
2012-08-17 20:35:12
they are not switching to CS:GOwno now....stop creating stupid threads like this

Yes, right now they're not, maybe in some time they will be better.
They need to accustom to the new game.

In 6month you'll get 16-0'd. Evevrybody knows that you were shit at css. Everybody who has played csgo more than 100hours can compete with the top players who haven't. But when they wil start practicing srsly for DH/ESWC, they'll be as good as the other topteams like nip, vg, mouz, mtw etc
2012-08-19 09:53:31
what a surprise, another team switched to go
2012-08-18 02:39:11
To everyone out there interested in the future of our team - we do not quit CS 1.6, we have started practicing CS:GO right now to see how it is, and to be ready - if most of the events will switch to the new game.

It's been the greatest time for us but we have to move on and stay open minded for anything that the future might bring to us. Be gentle in your judgement!
