Dell Ultrasharp U2412M Monitor
I have just got my hands on this monitor. It's totally great overall but there's a minor situation.

In my old monitor when there is -freq 75 on launch options and when disabled GPU scaling on driver menu image was fullscreen and stretched. And from monitors panel I was able to change it's scaling to 4:3. But right now it is working as a small 640x480 box on a 1080p screen.

Does anyone use this monitor and fixed this? Possible solutions?

Did you try to enable the scaling?

I presume that, just like with your old monitor, it is a matter of investigating if it is possible to achieve the fixing of that 'minor situation'. A good reading of the monitor manual might be a good starting point if it is as complete as it should and thus may offer you some valuable input.

You can kindly give your trust to me that i have investigated it. :)
Samsung 2232 was one of the early releases which it's only positive specific for gaming being 2 ms (GTG). Had a huge input lag (didn't know the stuff back then) and monitor's panel didn't have any scaling options.

Back when i had S2232GW I was able to use 75 hz with full-stretched image. But when i ticked the "Enable GPU Scaling" in scaling options the result was the same that i have now, little box on the middle of the screen.

Well I suppose this model of Dell won't make it to 75 hertz on even low resolutions, which seems to me kind of wrong.

I'll give it a shot on another hardware forum while hoping you two gentlemen can help me.

Does the montior support 75hertz, i was fairly certain most ultrasharps are 60hertz only ? It might do 75 at a really low resolution.

What resolution do you play at ?

640x480. My earlier samsung 2232gw was able to run 800x640 @75.
And this one's maximum refresh rate is 70 hz(which is a indicator that for 75hz). And some folk on hardforum says u2412m is a monitor supposedly supports 75 hz.

I wonder if that is a driver problem. I'll try downgrading though it seems unlikely.

It is kinda off in my point of view for a monitor that is able to run 1080p on HD to fail at 640x480 resolution to perform 75 hertz.

Since it's an IPS I don't know the technology, it's possible. But, still...

It's still a setting that manufacturer has to choose, it will never have 75 by default (for an IPS).

It seems your problem was already solved, I just want to add that Ultrasharps, specially U2412M, U3011 and U2711 are really good monitor and perfect for gaming, everybody will enjoy the features and uniqueness of this monitor same as I experienced.
