CS:GO
Hi,
in the last few weeks I noticed that more and more people here on Hltv.org started playing CS:GO, and i just want to know, why?? At the beginning everyone was hating it and now everyone just plays it, for what reason? because 1.6 proscene isnt as big as before? CS:GO isnt meant for competitive play, but there are still some morons like heaton who try to get it into e-sports because they need money. dont play a shitty game just because of that.

They why do you even have a 5 on 5 match making system? and Competitive mods... and some of us actually play it because we just enjoy a goodgame of counterstrike. others need to do it for a living, such as pro players...

Lets say your dad gets fired from his job and he has the ability to begin at a new company, not as advanced or stable as his old one but with opportunities to reach the top and earn more money then he ever has... Don't you think he would do it?

Hmmm ok. Take football for example. This game have +/- 100 years and so what? people play or wath in TV this game for 100 years becouse ,,gameplay,, is almost perfect. CS 1.6 gameplay is almost perfect like footbal. CS GO is like fotball with skates :) the principle is the same but gameplay is not as good as the original. Try play football in skates :D

actually, cs:go player figures are quite rapidly declining according to steam stats. people here just no longer flame the game as much (maybe be mods deleting those comments).

unless cs:go devs make extremely big changes to the game to attract 1.6/css players which is very unlikely (considering the changes so far and generally valve's attitude and target audience of this game), it will pretty much end up being condition zero: source.

unfortunately the damage to 1.6 in tournaments is probably done, regardless how will cs:go do, which is extremely sad, especially considering the 1.6 playerbase is big enough to get really high stream numbers (i believe it could easily match at least starcraft 2 if it got enough hype and advertising, despite being really old.). too bad it's not going to happen, considering except few big tourneys the viewer numbers were always quite low because counter strike players aren't really used to monitor streams unlike lol/sc2 players.

the 1.6 player base is full of kids who dont even know what competitive cs is LOL. they arnt even playing cs. they are playing dumb modded servers with shitty kz maps and gungame. they are playinh iceworld or scoutsknives. #'s dont mean shit when those peopel arnt even playing real cs.

Actually, yes. I can get 5v5 pugs in seconds via the csgo ingame 'find match' function......for having so many few players you would think it'd be a bit harder but its not

Yeah, and those people are true competitive players....oh wait.. they are just some pubers who never participated in any kind of competition.

The percentage of casual player is (at this point) definitely higher in CS:GO.

and guess what? its never too late to start competing! cs needs new blood, cause the 1.6 scene has been dead for a while. 10 euro teams that swap players like pimps swap hoes for 4+ years dont count as a scene.

a lot of those kids are nosteam, as are huge number of players in brazil and asia. anyway, most sc2 spectators don't even play the game and not everyone who watches streams need to play the game in the first place(even less in shooters where you need to understand little to know what's going on).

the sad truth is nobody really wants 1.6 to be big. most big games like lol, sc2 or dota2 get huge support and hype from developers and valve doesn't really care about 1.6 anymore at least since cs:s (in fact, they would benefit the most from 1.6 dying to get more people switch to cs:go).

sc2 is a lot worse competitive title than scbw was, but it's a blizzard game so it was bound to be successful anyway, but it also got huge support from blizzard regarding 'e-sport' promotion which is why it's so popular now.

dota2 is essentially the same game as dota with better graphics and great features to support competitive play like observer tools. if 1.6 would get the same treatment, it would be without a doubt as successful as dota and 'go-to' competitive shooter.

unfortunately valve instead decided to milk the franchise and released a game aimed at casual players and consoles and it shows. you know, trying to convince players to switch to inferior game only because otherwise 'cs will die' is extremely unfair and those little fixes they are doing just won't cut it. you can't expect huge changes to really make the game as good as 1.6 (let alone better than that), because that simply isn't the direction valve has taken with this game. it's unfortunate, but that's the way it is and you can't really blame 1.6 players for being bitter about it.

I'm not trying to convice you to play cs:go and quit 1.6. You can play whatever game you like. I'm just trying to make the point here that topics like this are useless because people play what thye want to play. after playing cs 1.5 and 1.6 for like 11 years now i'm enjoying CS:GO. something new, new things to learn etc.

It's good to see there are actually people like you on this forum, who instead of saying "CS:GO SUCKS DONKEYFUCKINGBALLZ" you bring up arguments! A part of my faith in humanity has restored.

you can try to explain to me why that fast bhopping style is more special than 1.6 bhopping. yes, it was faster. so what? 1.6 bhopping demands its own very unique techniques. it's really cool and smooth. and so goddamn hard to do :)

CSGO is at the moment pretty fun. Weve been playing 1.6 and GO lately with my friends and lately its just REALLY hard to get propper games in 1.6... Either clear hackers or enemies are so bad they think we cheat. Havent played a normal game for a long while now.

Im sure i wont play CSGO for as long as CS, but its fun at the moment. There are a LOT of things i hate about it.
