Neo is the only player in the world that carried almost alone a team to be world champion, and that happened several times. He is the best overall player ever with the best aim. F0rest comes in second place.

Talking about which player is better... E.G. Nix0n here put that f0rest is better because their 1on1 duels. If you look at their individual achievements Neo is better, but f0rest is just behind him. It is just like in football or in any other team sport, Messi vs Ronaldo, Kobe vs James, Balic vs Karabatic... You can't exactly say who is better because there are too many factors involved.
I've always prefered Neo because of his unique gaming style, his ability to fit in whatever role his team puts him, for his ability of understanding the game and reading an opponents, for his movement, because he was practically one man army in his team for the most of the times and so on. On the other hand some prefer f0rest because of his aiming skills, great but really different movement from Neo's, ability to carry his team with amazing scoreline, ability of reading opponents and so on. It is relative, so it is absurd to discuss about it.

From 2006 to 2012, now we have seen many classical clashes between these two teams. Mostly, neo is the decisive factor for Poland win, while f0rest is the decisive one from Sweden. But in those matcheups, its always hard to tell which is the favorite in general. And when talking about wcg, Poland the golden five is simply the headache of Sweden.
Then look at the statistics of neo and his teammates, compare them with f0rest and his teammates, then compare the achievement. neo is in theory better than f0rest regardless of everybody's preference in play style. pure skillwise, only taz in the team from Poland has close level like neo, while you see f0rest, has gux, dsn, gtr, even back the days, archi, etc.
Yes, I am fan of neo, but I dont want waste time arguing anyone with my fanboy opinions, like there are already tons of those comments. So, just straigten up some facts.

yea, I like them both, and f0rest, due to fnatic good advertisement here in China, got recongnition earlier than neo here. so before like 06 07, I know little about neo, only f0rest. but later, I learn more things about 1.6 from neo, and its amazing.

g5 is just better in teamplay meaning, they can win every game by communicate together as brothers who know each other as any team can't, individually they are worse than swedes but their teamplay is one of the best possible, they are playing together for a long time and they know how to play together - its the reason for their success, so neo is worse in duels vs f0rest but for example 5on5 4on4 3on3 or 2on2, g5 players have more chances cuz of sick supporting their teammates

emmh, its pretty lame to devalue neo's star effect in the team by exaggerate their teamplay, like all other teams, fnatic, navi, sk, etc. are all kindergarten level at teamplay. plz dont be ridiculous. poland team rely much on neo individual play, esp during the past.

and again, you bring up "duels". how do you guys come up with this concept of duels in 5on5 cs1.6 match. I rarely see such things in cs1.6 match. and the real duel IMO only exist in 1on1 aim_map. anyway, how do you come to the conclusion that f0rest better than neo in duels, or its just bullshit!

its obvious that only the clutch moment best reflects a player's pure individual skill 100%. when one has to rely on ones own entirely. one has to be superior to his oponents both at aim and reading the game to win a clutch round. and so many unimaginable clutch rounds neo has won during these years simply speak the fact.

i bet 10k $ that sk or fnatic (or both) is/are paying nixon some money to promote them. if you look how many iviews/news etc nixon posts about sk/fnatic in general and during the events comparing to other teams, you can clearly see what is going on here. most of the ppl here are very young and if they see so many news about fnatic for example that's pretty obvious they gonna follow them. during the events, you can see a great coverage when sk/fnatic are winning, but when they're out there's just one/two short news and that's it. ofc neo >>> forest in general, but that's not the point here...

Personally, i think you cant say whos better, they are the 2 best players to ever embrace this game. Actually a lot of the poles made multiple accounts just to vote for neo and also flamed the thread which had like 2k+ replies and eventually Nomad had to lock it. The thing is that a lot of swedes and people from nordic where the CS is most popular voted for other players while at that time the poles and USSR countries vote for Neo.
Ofcourse Neo has fans worldwide, but the majority of them are poles.

Neo is better simply because he has always been playing with worse skilled teammates and can win any tournament if they have huge motivation.

f0rest always had better teammates and he didn't carry his team alone like neo always, but he had GTR (most of the times he was better than patrick when he has been playing with him) Archi, Gux, Delpan and face - amazing teammates, skillwise, smartness on very high lvl but neo's team? Ok they are amazing too but comparing to f0rest's teammates they were worse.

Its a fact

Shorter version -> Neo carried his team alone, f0rest not really.

The skill-level of 2012 is way higher than it's ever been in CS, and at the very moment I'd say that Neo > anyone.

That being said, Neo is the best 1.6-player, if you don't compare to others per year and so on. Because a 2012 neo would beat a 2005 Potti, if y'all get what I mean. :)
