About CS 1.6
I know it's hard to believe that the game DEADED.. But I don't think we need a new game (CS:GO). I agree the maps are overplayed, the players have been playing them for 10 years but it's still a great game. I mean, the graphics aren't beautiful compared to other games but it's lovely and it's what every CS 1.6 fan love! We love that competition between the best teams to win the major tournaments.

My suggestion is: they should create new maps, so the teams will have to re-create their strats and there would be almost a new game.. with all that competition again

Going for a new game is weird.. maybe 30% of the community is ok with CS:GO but 70% still wants to keep playing CS 1.6.. But how will we play a game that has no competitive scene? I mean, all the players are switching to CS:GO due to the tournament prizes and other factors, but the community loves CS 1.6 and no one wants to leave the game.

Maybe the professional players are tired of playing de_dust2/inferno/nuke/train in every tournament, and every team knows what to do to beat the enemies etc.. That's why I think there should be new maps and new tournaments! I don't know if it's hard to create new maps with balanced sides like the ones we play (d2, inferno, train, nuke) but if they created those maps, couldn't they create new ones? And with the tools we have nowadays, even the community can do this job.

That's what I think. CS:GO is a weird game, maybe that's because we played CS 1.6 for many years, but I still think CS 1.6 can be back!

new maps woulda been nice like like 7-8 years ago. how many times do i need to see the same exact frags in every frag movie? for example, sunman's awp shot heard around the world on train came in like 2001-2002 and I have yet to see a cooler highlight on de_train over a decade later....shits just stale

i mean i still watch new frag movies and whatever because cs4life and all but like, remember shaguar's 1-deag flick shot on the boosted guy at short a? that was sick not only because of the skill but because noone had ever seen anything like that on dust2 before. i never understood why tournaments never forced new maps onto the players....was it because the community hates all types of change or what? i stopped following competitive cs in like 2005-06. why are the same maps still being played in 2012?

I have never seen shaguar's flick shot but I got your point now.

If they want to reborn cs 1.6, they definitely need to create new maps. It would be nice to see new strats, new positions, new frags like you said and everything new!

Dunno, I feel exactly the contrary. I took a 1-2 year break from CS back in 2006 or so and when I started playing again I found it amazing how much the tactics had changed in only one year. And that's the great thing - everyone has a level playing field because everyone's played the same maps to death. Thus skill and individual ingenuity > practice of particular maps.

Those are CS:S maps but they are really good.

There's a lot of new maps in CSS.. I don't follow it so often but I know there's always a new map

Tbh I think 1.6 players would come back if there were new maps and shit... If tournaments would pick 1.6 up again then there is a huge chance that the game will live :) Cause so many guys who switched to GO are mostly because of their "gaming career" which is money ..

We know that GTR, Xizt etc love CS1.6, but they are pro players, which means they play the game for money.

They can't play a game that will not give them money! That's why they switched to CS:GO.

If CS 1.6 gives money again, I'm sure they'll be back.

I'm sure xizt doesn't love the game and GTR is a bitch on money only. About f0rest I can say that he actually I am sure that he still loves 1.6 more then GO since he said in his interview that if 1.6 would of had more leagues and stuff it would have stayed longer..

Here in Brazil, everybody knows the game and even the guys who moves using the arrows have fun playing it at cybercafes

Of course it won't change anything to them since they do not care about the competitive scene of the game, but I'm talking about the game's popularity

there were and probably still are plenty of bigname pros who used/still use arrow keys ;)

brazil was a force in cs golden days pre-2005 and could easily return to the top in csgo if enough kids picked it up. its just a good chance to start the 'international' scene back up andget some noneuropeans countries competing again.

Playing in the arrows I mean those guys who play cs_assault with lots of bots and two friends in their team.. Their movements aren't even close to be good or something :) They really play for fun (I believe many players used to do that in the beginning)

I don't believe Brazil can be a force again.. Brazilian players have to pracc against top players and we don't find top players in South America.

gotta make your own top players. how do you think cogu got so good? or kikoooooo? or any of the original brazilian superstars? if any of them got the support they needed to maintain a progamer lifestyle theyd still be competing today, but the cs scene was not enough to support them in the early days. you see it with cogu coming back.

As you see, we had about five REALLY good players who were able to compete in international scene.

While we have three superstars, Europe's got many of them :)

FalleN and co. should have support to compete in international scene, but nobody want's to do it because cs doesn't give money anymore. Why do you think cogu started college and many players work etc? Because cs won't secure them money :)

p2000 is terrible weapon compared to usp, but the glock is way better in csgo than 1.6. ct's can buy a p250 now which is much more like the old usp but stronger, but leaves you with not enough money for a kit. deagle is risky because it has two few bullets when going up against glocks. lots of new strategies for pistol rounds in csgo. very refreshing for once.

meh, weapons dont make the game. i was bummed at first when i didnt have usp in csgo because the p2000 feels like the glock from early cs but i really like having the choice of buying a p250 and a flash, or a kit and a flash, or a deagle on ct pistol round now. really makes you think what is the most important thing to buy. the p250 is really fuckin awesome to use though.

I dont think pros will continue to play CSGO,i understand a lot of major event like:ESL,IEM ,ESWC already swtich to GO,but i wonder what do they do with a low game,no 1 want to watch it,no 1 want to play it,there is no market no matter if they put million dollars in just like CSS,sooner or later it will die out, unless they can surpass 1.6 which i think from GO is impossible to even get close,there is no better competitive FPS game can replace 1.6.

we need to add to the mappool (nuke, dust2, tuscan, train, inferno) olb but forgotten maps: de_russka (crazy map for the teamplay), de_cbble (one site map but on the upper level the results were always close (11:4 and then 5:10) and one-two other. The mainstream is now on the csgo. But we: true players still enjoied it end the leagues who support still cs.16 need to support us, the players who wants the fun back and create new tactics.

All CS 1.6 ever really needed was a facelift (upgraded graphics), a bunch of new maps and new tournaments/leagues. Basically a cs 2.0, keeping the flawless gameplay (some bug fixes would be needed). I can't seem to understand why Valve chose the path they took, ignoring everything that made 1.6 the successful game that it is/was. At least the Promod developers are (were...) heading in the right direction, if only Valve would've realised that. Well, I didn't expect much from them after they released Source but still...

A more casual and beginner-friendly game obviously brings in more cash than one that's aimed towards competitive gaming, that's a given.

Most certainly, yes. What bothers me is that the game would've been even better, thus gaining a much larger playerbase than it currently has (and probably ever will have). Why ignore the things that made CS 1.6 so popular? Incorporating those things would've made a huge difference.

The maps are different now, they suffered a lot of changes, it's not only with better graphics, after all, anyone can make improvements in the maps using valve tools to make them more competitive, just take some time.

Good game attract players, then tournament and sponsor stuff, not the other way around. csgo as a new game, need to be good for its own sake, and attract a big pool of players first. but now those big events drop 1.6, because of csgo or not, csgo to replace or not, its so fake and wrong, it wont last long. its the wcg, eswc, iem who are wrong about the visions of esport and fps game.
cs1.6 as a video game being too old though, still far better than csgo.

CS 1.6 doesn't sell pcs upgrades anymore. Certainly has some sponsor money involved in this. CS:BF ops GO.
