Could HLTV to develop new CS version?
I admit this is an illusion, but i really want it realise.

Some day,HLTV.org buy the old school HL1 engine and cs1.6 source code(maybe not that much,i guess).

Then develop it base at 1.6's gameplay and increase the model&map graphics.(continue the physical movement of 1.6,so the KZ can be keep, the in game movement can be keep)

Once it's beta released,HLTV.org,with most pro-players and fans around the world here, community give our suggestions and developer fix the BUGs

finally, this new CS version come out and that will be an perfect version,One Point Seven, maybe.

sorry guys,i buy csgo recently,i have a good mood, however it let me down.i play it occasional when i see some news about it,however it let me down again and again.dont talk about valve, they just close their door and 'working hard' to give a CSS video game version.

community can do nothing,i really upset.

promod is really good, cause its 1.6 in Source engine, but its too late for promod i think..i think they havent chance, cause valve have money
2012-09-19 08:44:39
they have money, but they don't have the people with them. ;)
2012-09-19 13:54:12
they do.
2012-09-19 16:06:27
actually they don't have people on csgo.
2012-09-19 20:47:47
so u can't play it because valve has money, makes sense
2012-09-19 08:58:22
You can play it just like 1.6, but I think he wants big game which will be played in big tournaments.
2012-09-19 13:41:46
Good Idea/wish bro.
2012-09-19 09:13:19
hltv.org is a community, not a game developer? :|

keep your hopes up... CSPromod will be a revolution, specially if Valve keeps messing around and not listening to us with CS:GO

When you're dreaming with a broken heart
The waking up is the hardest part
You roll outta bed and down on your knees
And for the moment you can hardly breathe
Wondering was she really here?
Is she standing in my room?
No she's not, 'cause she's gone, gone, gone, gone, gone....

2012-09-19 12:35:38
Have you not heard of cspromod?

...
2012-09-19 11:43:23
I heard it back in 2006 I remember. Still not released
2012-09-19 11:51:24
Lol do you really if think if a similar project was to start now, it wouldn't take as long?

Reverse engineering an old game's mechanics and picking similar values from an old engine to another's is not easily done in a month, a year or 6!

Happily said though, 1.09 is practically finished, in terms of 1.6 game play and new content is coming on great. CSP will change prior to 1.09.
2012-09-19 13:22:08
For any gaming company it wouldn't take 6 years i can say you that. The game is randomly made with no sponsors or support, people who are making the game have jobs and its like a hobby for them. But still its not an excuse. They said it will released shortly after cs:go but wheres that? And they think that when they will finally release it every body will start to it play and so on. Alex Garfield is a naive bastard and should have just retire as a manager after CGS collapse and EG disbandment
2012-09-19 14:47:02
lol well you look ridiculous...

We're not a gaming company.

Thanks.
2012-09-19 16:35:50
I'm not saying that you guys are
2012-09-19 16:43:58
"For any gaming company it wouldn't take 6 years i can say you that..."

Why are you saying this then?

2012-09-19 16:56:52
I gave you as an example. You can understand it like you want
2012-09-19 17:20:41
"We're not a gaming company. "

#1 reason why csp failed
2012-09-19 17:46:38
hahaha that idiot again
2012-09-20 21:06:16
I have 2 questions.

Do you have any data of how many players does 1.08 have?
What is your marketing strategy or you just expect people start playing it if the game is good?
2012-09-19 15:45:03
Not my field of expertise.
2012-09-19 16:36:48
I heard and play it,cspromod 1.08 lying in my steam library since it released.I'm waiting for 1.09 for a long time.

It might be possible that the roots of CS get realized. CS was a mod of half life 1, it's possible to hope that someone might mod the new engine and make a game like CS except a different name for copyright reasons.

There are a lot of talented modders out there, and there are a lot of people who really love the mechanics of the original CS. It's not impossible that someone might try to make a mod to mimic 1.6.

Well it might not be the most realistic idea or thought I've had, but it is one at least.
2012-09-19 12:52:53
it is possible like alot say but in how much time ?

There is alot of money involved too because no one is gonna have a server at the beginning so your team will need to rent servers all over the world (for public play)

2012-09-19 13:24:28
Well, you can always try to pursue Nomad to start a kickstarter project, if it reaches the target (say $1M) then he could quit his 'real' job =D
2012-09-19 13:48:25
The HL1 engine (even if it's heavily modified) is just outdated and there's no development behind it anymore. That's why CSP uses the Source engine (Valve continues developing the Source engine).
2012-09-19 14:02:01
I am the only one who thinks that maybe, just maybe, someone will come up with some sort of mod for CS:GO, that has CS:GO graphics, with 1.6 gameplay? GOPromod?
2012-09-19 14:11:32
It´s a reality..the cspromod team can port the game to a new engine.
2012-09-19 14:13:52
edit: nevermind.

The questions is: When will Valve release a full SDK for GO's engine? As soon as this happens CSPromod will switch over to CS:GO's engine.

Lets hope soon enough I guess, it will look so much better in the new source engine :)
2012-09-20 20:41:14
or just keep playing 1.6?
2012-09-19 14:20:30
gogo PROMOD!!
2012-09-19 15:48:20
why?! we have 1.6..

yeah,I like 1.6,i hope nothing to replace it.
however most of tournaments want to kill 1.6,but csgo still sucks, csp going slowly.

stop speaking about promod, they wasted their chance year(s) ago.
2012-09-19 16:00:59
<3
2012-09-19 16:37:22
sorry dude :[ the game itself is great but you had chance to take over :3
2012-09-19 17:35:55
interesting thread, lots of idea and creative thougth. I dont think csgo is the future either, its timestamped and will fade away soon, but we need 1.6 gameplay in better graphics and visuals and new maps etc, maybe even new game mode or whatever or add in some missions like cz or whatever and you have solid product for new players, the competitive part will be enough for 1.6 ers
2012-09-19 16:10:02
well, they're working on new profiles for a couple of years now :D so you do the math
2012-09-19 16:45:36
ahahahhahaha
2012-09-20 21:03:50
nomad and some talent guys out there with some financial source can do it =)
2012-09-20 21:05:25
If you guys want another CsPromod or even a worse scenario thatn they could
2012-09-20 21:09:00
Why bother asking HLTV.org? Just ask Santa Claus and his legion of dwarves to do it instead?
