NECESSARY CHANGES
I know it's not the right place but I'd like to read as much opinions as possible.

I am not HATING on the game like those 1.6 dudes on HLTV are doing. I am simply expressing my opinion on what could make CS:GO a better game. The idea of getting Call of Duty players to play Global Offensive was alright but it's not working out and I think if we want more people to get involved in CS:GO, we will have to import some features from earlier CS versions. I realise it's a different game and I'm not saying to make it a copy of 1.6 or Source but some things just have to change in order to get more players, which was originally the main purpose of this game right? Bringing Source and 1.6 together. Just to be clear HERE, I am NOT saying the game is shit and should be a copy of 1.6 and Source. I have played both games and they both have features that makes the game better than other FPS-games. Features that are currently still missing in Global Offensive.

#1 The main thing that is bothering me and alot of other players is the way the game looks. It's got that gray aura like you see in the CoD/MoH series. 1.6 and Source both had good saturation levels and it made the game look attractive and fun. You can still see, based on the steam stats, that players do not care (much) about how detailed and realistic the graphics are. Source and 1.6 both had graphics that couldn't be compared to CoD and still had a larger playerbase. The guns look bad, the maps look bad and it's stopping alot of 1.6 and Source-players to make the switch.

#2 MAPS, MAPS AND MAPS. Some of them are just not competitively viable or have some small issues. I beg Valve to take a look at what some people have created. There are tons of edited mapversions which are all better for competitive play than the ones we are currently using. Less clutter, less useless objects and a more logical structure to balance both sides advantages. Some of the maps like train/nuke are too crowded and it changes the pace of the game. You can literally hide everywhere now and it's made the game more random than skillbased.

#3 Game physics. The nice thing about 1.6 and Source was the freedom and possibilities you had in movement. CS:GO requires little to none creativity or imagination to get from point A to point B. It is also a big aspect for public players. Think about the endless amount of bhop/longjump/trickz-servers there were. It made the game how it is, it required skill and it was amazing for spectators to watch people pull off jumps like (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedd.. CS:GO is still a game, it's supposed to be fun and at the moment, compared to earlier cs-versions, it just isn't. Another small thing is being able to jump while in freezetime. It helps when asking for a drop. It's probably stupid to mention but it's one of those things that make it fun.

#4 GO-TV and matchmaking ELO. Not as urgent as the 3 points I made above but once again, they're both features that attract players to the game and will get people to play more often. It would be nice to have something like in League of Legends where you can spectate live-matches by high ELO-players using GO-TV. Implement a system where no demos go missing and are uploaded to coverage website or portal immediately.

#5 Nade physics. Just an opinion of mine, maybe other players don't have issues with it but I personally think they still bounce wrong. Another thing I'd suggest is the possibility to throw nades through small gaps like you can in 1.6. Opens new ways to smoke/flash/nade bombsites and it will make the game somewhat more skill dependant.

#6 Guns. I'll start off with m4 and AK. I'm sure most people will agree with me when I say that the AK is way better than the m4 at the moment. WE_NEED_A_SILENCER. It balances the advantages and disadvantages of both guns and it's something that just HAS to happen. I hope the recoil change that j3di mentioned will be implemented. I tested it and it's a huge improvement to the current patterns. Pistols. The P2000 (the standard pistol for CT) is just awful. Compared to the USP you got in 1.6 and Source it's probably equally strong as using a knife. I think a new version of the USP should be implemented or atleast change the price of a defuse kit so you can buy a P250 (which is actually a really good pistol) and a kit and not automatically lose the round. The AWP is pretty solid in CS:GO. There are some things that need changes though. First of all, the sound in CS:GO totally ruins opening picks. Say you want to silently pick a bombsite with an AWP, people will most likely hear you scope even if you're at the other side of the site. The scope should be fixed too. You are forced to play a resolution higher than 800x600 because you can barely see the zoom. A 1.6-ish zoom should be implemented (red dot in the middle, lines on the crosshairs) in order to not have to guess where the fuck your crosshair went off to, or you should give us the choice of using which zoom we want, like in CS:Promod. Quickzooming is something I personally miss in this game and in Source.

#7 Money system. $400 for a defuse kit. This just ruins the pistol for CT. As I said in #6, the P2000 is too underpowered but has to be used in order to buy a defuse kit. Change the price of a kit so a P250/kit can be bought or just change the gun itself and make it a USP. All guns should give an equal kill-reward. It's always been like this and I don't see a point in changing it. Apart from this, the money system is pretty good. I would suggest to get the "$ per kill" out of the scoreboard because it's pretty useless and demoralizing but it's not a big issue and probably doesn't bother anyone else than me.

#8 Little fixes. Here are a couple of bugs or necessary fixes I wrote down a while ago. They might be fixed by now but you never know, so here goes:
- If you die with a pulled out grenade/flash in your hand, it does not explode.
- You can watch through smokes if a molo or nade explodes in or behind it.
- There are no killreports when you open the console.
- Can't turn camera in game when dead, deathcam?
- More noticable bomb-icon.
- Remove bots in competitive servers.
- Demo-bugs (no walls, delayed smokes, rollerskate-models)
- Put the right version of maps in create server (+add mirage).
- cl_ragdoll_physics_enable 0 for competitive play.
- Bugplants where you can't defuse the bomb.
- The bug where people show around corners for a milisecond and are not even there.
- Gamecrashes when multicore rendering is enabled.
- FPS commands or atleast HDR disable.
- You hear footsteps when walking silent.
- Shadows can be enabled but I can't remember ever seeing one.
- Zoom_sensitivity_ratio not active while reloading.
- Match ends when 16 rounds are reached, screws pcws.
- Different models on other maps for T/CT.

ONCE AGAIN - I do not hate the game and I'm not asking to change back to 1.6 and Source. The game just needs alot of changes which is normal in this early stage and I'm just giving my opinion on what should be changed. Thanks for reading and feel free to argue.

Fully agree with, I think, every single point raised. If Valve just read this thread, and implemented everything, we would have ourselves a great counter-strike sequel :) Unfortunately, they won't cause they are lazy know-it-alls, and don't give 2 fucks for the competitive communities wishes.

Not sure if they are listening to the forums, we would be best turning up to their offices with some pitchforks, and beating the updates out of them :)
