Surely, it would reduce the problems with drug dealing and consequently criminality, but this reduction would not be as expressive as you may think, since these problems go beyond marijuana(cuz in Brazil we have problems with cocaine and the newest and worst one: crack, talking only about the most expressive ones).

This cleary applies to marijuana. Infact I'm not against it, I regularly smoke weed, too. I just think that a legalization would lead to an excessive consumption and abuse of it. We already have a legal drug, the most dangerous drug in the world: alcohol. Look at what it does to people, how many people die of it.

The problem is marijuana affects your brain and your actions your thinking way! Thats why its called a drug. In most countries drugs are criminal/illegal. What does alcohol do again if you take too much of it? But should the law tell you what you should do or not? It does not hurt your body on a long term based normal/regualar usage. If a drug hurts your body on a long term i would take action and prevent the usage of it. But are you not fully aware of the consequences? Do you need the law?

Around 1.8 million people(highest number around the world) in the US are in prison right now for drug related crimes. Like owning weed or consuming it for sure also higher crimes. The war on drugs seems to be a endless problem especially in the US. Nearly any third party in the US wants to legalize marjiuana and tax it to support the US economy with it. Example Gary Johnson(Libertarian), Jill Stein(Green) and Rocky Anderson(Justice)

Since almost everyone who wants can have marijuana, legalizing it would be a fucking awesome business. Alcohol is way worse anyway, and it has a lethal dose but weed doesn't. (Or not mesurable.)

I still say it's bad for health in many ways (and good in a few) but since today's world is all about the money - governments could earn a shitload by legalizing it - and stoned ppl behave much better than drunks it can't hurt much.

I totally support the marijuana legalization. It would reduce the criminality rates, and the government would take care about the real problems. I don't support the use of drugs, but since in 21st century you are free, I think you are free to use anything you want too.
And for the people that smokes weed just for "relax and forget the problems", I think you should look for help. It's a weakness to use something that just hides your problems for a time. The best way to combat your problems is facing them, not hiding from them.

secondly, all potential effects are reversable.

thirdly, look at some celebs like eddie bravo and joe rogan. hear them talk about pro MMA fighters smoking before fighting. hear their stories about how they were prejudiced like you and were forced to change their minds later ;).



it's true there are some effects on mental capacity, but they're all reversable and not significant for practical life (effects on IQ are small. there's no wobbly gait. sleeping disorders are associated with quitting THC, not with smoking it. dunno about menstruation. doubting confusion/disorientation.)
