CS haters are a minority here?
The only people who hate on the new CS are always the same people which I can count on my fingers. Most of them don't have more than 16 years, zaihtaM, dbid, piyush, melon (14) etc.

It doesn't take much time at all to realize and type 2 paragraphs explaining why a game can be better than it currently is. zaihtam stays mature, and handles situations fine. he isn't a minority, look at the steam stats. I'll bet you anything csgo free thurs-sunday will still be lower steam stats than 1.6 alone, and source alone. It will only garner and cater the trashy free fps online communities - that is, if they realize that csgo is free for the next 4 days. Unfortunately most won't know, because the advertising won't get to them.

what do you know! i was right, csgo has not surpassed 1.6, and source in terms of player population yet. also, the 1.6 population is still stable, at about 53,000 peak, 48,000 current. the source pop is at 33,000 currently (peak is 37,000). csgo is currently 35,000(peak & current).
ah but what about the eswc being watched? well most viewers are watching it from ingame, so the peak should be when the tournies are being played, which has nearly finished already for today.
also note, most of the csgo players are source players, because the source peak is far below what it usually is.

I thought it was decent. Definitely needs more tweaking to be what I want. I played CS since it was free to DL online and I think about how long it took to get to the "perfect version" people were afraid to switch to 1.6 when 1.5 was still active. The awp delay was considered terrible and all kinds of things. But it became the best thing ever. I have confidence that if valve listens to the community it will deliver an excellent game.

Im pretty sure Portugal achieved more than UK in cs 1.6, just saying xD I never said i needed to pursue a gaming career, nor i am interested in doing it simply because E-Sports cant guarantee you a nice life, even if you play LoL in a big team. Gaming for me is just a hobby. I play it with my friends, but at the same time i try to get some prize for it, which is being way smarter than you idiots playing pubs and gathers in 1.6 right now. I mean, its just a waste of time and im sure i have more fun/equal to you.

Not as dead as CS:GO in all fairness. You realise what is happening to CS:GO? The majority of people are not enjoying it. The competitive scene moved to GO because 1.6's competitive scene died. The professional players, organisations, website portals, sponsors and tournament organisers thought "Ah a new game in the pipeline. Let's use it and generate some profit while it alive for the next two years."
The only people that moved to CS:GO are either source players, who know their game is horribly bad and dead, casually and competitively. It makes sense for them to move and the others that moved to CS:GO are naive 1.6 players who think "oh the competitive 1.6 scene is dead, so the game has to be dead. My online role model has chosen to play a new game, so I will too." Not realising they chose to play GO so they could make some more money for the next 2-3 years before CS:GO actually drains out. The fact is, you're all no name random casual gamers who will never even land in a team and make a penny off of this game. You just needed a moral boost to your ego to portray yourselves as 'competitive players' and so you moved to CS:GO. CS:GO BY FACT is is NOT as good as CS 1.6 in terms of everything apart from graphics. So that leaves us with only a few possible reasons as to why you moved. For graphics, too dedicated to your online hero or boost ego. CS 1.6 is by fact more enjoyable.
You're going to be sat in your shell once you realise how ignorant and naive you were to move to CS:GO when everybody is done with you. Nope, I have IRL-friends who are CSS-players. However, I don't see why they should be anywhere near the development of the game as they choose a less competitive game to begin with, also they don't have the same experience that the 1.6 pros has, some CSS-pros have never been outside of their countryboundaries, or have only traveled for a limited time while many 1.6 players have been doing this professionally since 2004-2005.

What we should do instead of bashing cs:go is simply shutdown whole CS:GO section and if it will become succesfull overtime, then it could be brought back.

Just played 2 hours of CS:GO (i havent played it since the first weeks of beta) and here is my feedback:
Pros:
-The matchmaking system
-No need to buy a private server
-We're able to make some clean shots (if you hit the head, you get an headshot, 98/100 times. On 1.6, there were some registry problems which would make the bullet to go elsewhere)
-Good gaming experience when the ping is 70-80ms, a thing that in 1.6 was impossible
Cons:
-The noise that makes while jumping, it ruins a lot of stuff
-The recoil it's a bit random
-The amount of blood is huge, which sometimes makes me wonder if i actually killed the guy or not
-The deathnotice fades a bit with the colors of the map, and sometimes i don't notice if i killed someone
-you can get kills by strafing and jumping easily
-The sounds are not so good, you don't know if the guy is upstairs or downstairs
-The skill required is lower than in 1.6 (Yep, that's truth, 1.6 is a harder game to master, and I, a guy who "never" played GO could get scores like 18-3; 36-17, against guys who already had lots of badges, and my team was me and 3 of my friends and a robot)
So, as you can see by my last point, 1.6 guys aren't hating on GO. We just think that the skill required for GO is lower than the one required for 1.6. I tried both games and my opinion is that CS:GO is a playable game, but has a lot of things that should be changed or else CS in general will lose some players.
Plus, I have to admit it, the GO experience today was better than all the ones I had before
"Will I buy CS:GO?" - I probably will, because a friend of mine wants to create a CS:GO team and, even if I find 1.6 more enjoyable than GO, wouldn't mind to move "forward" or else I would spend my time playing LoL or DotA2

i bought csgo, tried to accept it, as the successor of 1.6, but its impossible. its a decent fps game, and i already get used to the recoil, but as long as i have friends playing with 1.6, i will always choose 1.6, for me csgo is just worse than 1.6 in many ways, only with a better graphic.
