with large i find it easier to spray

large is better cause with small one you focus on only one player that is in front of you .but with large one you can focus on 3 or more players. :P

Preference... I use Large and it's great!

Many reasons...After a time, you don't even need a crosshair to shoot at your opponents! Large crosshair is easier to spray with, you get the feeling that your opponents are closer!
On the other hand, tapping is much easier with medium and small crosshairs

small crosshair forces you to be ever so slightly slower in your aiming because you feel the need to be more precise and yeah it's better for tapping but ANYONE will tell you large is better for spraying. also tapping is easy with large too if you're good and know where to aim(don't aim too high up on the head or you will hit nothing) and on LAN, spraying is SO EASY so obviously large crosshair is best for lan and online for the most part.

*edit* I want to give this advice because it has plagued me FOREVER >:( DO NOT aim at peoples top of forehead or the tip of the head(as i tend to do) because most of the time it WILL NOT REG for whatever stupid reason. if u want a headshot and ur tapping , aim for the MOUTH AREA, as anything on the chin or above will be a headshot. it rages me when i tap on someones top of forehead and nothing happens.

Dude, when you get used to the game, you can play with ANY crosshair, it's just a reference point....

you can see the enemy/bullets better imo

My understanding is as long as you can visualize the center of your screen, where the first few bullets will land. There becomes no need for a small cross hair. And from what I've seen, the large cross hair gives you more of a reference to control longer bursts and sprays.

8 years playing cs,and i can say that crosshair is nothing special
your aim is...
i use small and i can spray easy and be fast.

it's 9/10 not about the crosshair. you dont even look at your crosshair anymore if your good enough. you just play and "know" where you aim.
i have my crosshair on "automatic" so i somewhat know how big my spread will be if i shoot while i jump or when i keep spraying the wall etc.

there is no difference in crosshairs like with medium you can aim better and with large you can spray better... only in your head, personal prefference. iam using random crosshairs sometimes large sometimes medium 1....

All the players that use the large crosshair are oldschools ones that played the old CS where u couldn't change crosshair and had only large, so they are abituated with only that crosshair..
Newcomers like markeloff,MODDII,face etc are using small :)

I think it and your resolution setting is relative,
1024*768 If it is a small prospective heart, then I can not see the bullet marks. If its medium ,like that I think he is too large.
So ,i use 800*600.Medium,It suits me

I switch between Medium and Small on 800 x 600. I use small for pistols and Medium for the rifles. I like medium because it's strong and visible at the centre of the scree. The gap between the 4 lines also enables me to have a better view at the recoil. I suppose that is one factor of players opting the larger versions of the cross hair. Just my opinion though.

Large is better when you are far from enemy. I prefer for sure with 640x.

I feel that large is better for overall performance and fragratio. I never play a bad match with large. The reason for this is that its nearly impossible to miss an easy kill because of the easy spray options. With medium, its kind of the same, but imo with medium the pistolaim decreases with my experiance, except with deagle. Its also a bit tricky to spray with.
With small, you can either have a really good, or really bad, or really, really mediocre match. Either dominating, or failing, or not contributing that much. This is because it depends alot on youre reactionshooting, and your personal feel for the aim. Example, if im playing with small, I can see a guy, and shoot while dragging my mouse and suddenly its instahs which is kinda weird, but this happends alot more often than with large/medium.
This is ofcourse my personal experiance and opinion and everything could be false information :)

You can have binds for croshair size.I used to change size for every weapon (ak/m4 large,dyn 0 ' usp/small dyn 1 ' glock medium ' degale large etc etc.....i tried it all and i find that the large/dyn 0 is best for me , but also sometimes small/dyn 1 is good.Large because it is good for spraying and tapping,short bursts,it is more easy too aim at 2or3 enemies at very short time,but it is just my preference.Conclusion = try it all and you should see which is best for you!

Every crosshair size is good, it's just what you are used to.

I have always played with LARGE and I tried to play a bit with small but just didn't like it and switched back.

And when you switch back from small to large, large seems so much bigger lol =D Some of you might experienced it aswell.

when will people start realising that its all about personal preference. its all in your head, if you like playing with large crosshair, you probably will be better with it. on the other hand, if you like a small crosshair, you most certainly will play better with that. it doesn't make a damn difference to the game.

i have used all three sizes.. each one for years... my ultimate choice is the large one... why? as it is easier to see first of all so everything is better... with small i could get instant headshots but i missed a lot as well... in the end it is not about the feel or recoil control or whatever... it is easier to do these things because large is simply more visible...

small crosshair will definitely damage ur eyes as u need to focus on ur crosshair a lot.it happened to me.

actually i think large crosshair makes an illusion that ur bullets are going more precise to the middle of the crosshair instead of having small when the natural bullet projection might take em outside of the crosshair or not in to the middle. On large crosshair those very same shots look like they are in the middle of the crosshair or atleast closer.

small corsshair gives you tunnel vision ...large crosshair gives you proper visibility inside the crosshair ...its much easier to put the large crosshair on an enemy's head ..cus it's something you do sub-conciously, with the small crosshair you are actively trying top keep the damn thing on their head and not focusing on other details...tunnelvision = bad


also, crosshair placement while spraying is easier with large ...cus you are using the top tip of the crosshair as you aim spot

I don't think any crosshair gives any advantage. If there was a dot instead of xhair, it wouldn't affect your spray or aim with oneshots.
That is if you play the game for many years. But really, it doesn't matter at all.

the settings are good 4 each and every single player, that's y some players are using big graphics or small graphics, or y some player are using small or large crosshairs 'cause every single setup is made 4 players to feel good, if you won't understand that, it means you really are without hope :-j

i think it deppends on resolution a bit and monitor...

Small crosshair just often gets in way and covers opponent players. However with large crosshair it doesn`t happen.
Besides it`s not like crosshair is even that neccesary for me. Helps when I forgot how to feel my aim however.

Large is better that's why. The human eye is insanely good at centering the view. That works in real gunsports too. It's wired to do so. As you can see, with only a little practise it's fairly easy to noscope with the awp, due to the centering. Large xhair makes it a lot easier to align your movement with the map and all of it's variables. If it was up to me the xhair could be even bigger. For me the best size would be constant large dyn 1 while running with pistol.
