The organisers behind TECHLABS Cup have announced that they will hold a tournament next month with $15,000 and four top teams.

When compared to the last tournament, which was won by place2play.ru, the prize purse has been bumped up to $15,000 by the organisers.

The format, though, is expected to stay the same, with the "double-elimination" group stage system preceding the Grand Final, played in a best-of-three mode.

There will also Dota 2, Starcraft 2, World of Tanks and Shadow Company tournaments at the Russian event, making it a combined $47,500 prize purse.

TECHLABS Cup participants' list:

Ninjas in Pyjamas ESC Gaming
Natus Vincere Virtus.pro

TECHLABS Cup prize distribution:

1. $8,000
2. $4,000
3. $2,000
4. $1,000

2013-02-18 20:36:08
Why not vg?
2013-02-18 20:37:28
they maybe didn't have the cash to fly there, after all the events they ll attend this spring (cph, esea, vienna..)
2013-02-18 20:50:29
but all that 2nd place prizemoney stacks up?
2013-02-18 21:00:55
usually its the sponsor who pays the plane bills..
2013-02-18 21:41:58
or maybe they don't want to be called flying saucers.
2013-02-18 23:34:24
dude find another argument if you don't like VG.
I personally come from 1.6 but this 1.6 / source separation doesn't make any sense anymore. csgo was released 6 months ago, wake up !

Only 1.6 teams? bullshit..
2013-02-18 20:37:38

2013-02-19 14:22:28
so 1.6 will back
2013-02-18 20:37:48
top 4?? And Na'Vi?? It's gr8 ))
2013-02-18 20:38:55
We need Anexis and Overrated Individuals. Without them it's not really all of the top teams assembled.
2013-02-18 20:41:13
nah i think these teams are actually the top4 atm maybe with n!faculty in there

EDIT: forgot VG and na'vi is probably not on the same lvl yet but i guess we'll see if they are :)

2013-02-18 20:42:50
These teams are not top 4,lol.
2013-02-18 20:44:20
yeah thought it was VG instead of na'vi
2013-02-18 20:45:09
Yeah np, but n! beated NiP, that doesnt make them top5 :D
2013-02-18 21:11:21
i know but they have been pretty decent in ESEA and they also had a good match against VG, top5 team on inferno for sure :D
2013-02-18 21:15:38
vg ?

They are top teams, he didnt mean top 4 literary, stupid fucks, not you rove others OMG !
2013-02-18 21:01:20
yeah you get me ty but i did misread, i thought it was VG instead of na'vi :)
2013-02-18 21:04:12
Anexis??? you mean VG wtf anexis are shitty
2013-02-18 20:42:59
considering the fact this is a 4 teams tournaments that would not be possible.

and don't get why Anexis and OI would be better than VG.
2013-02-18 20:44:01
OI didint show shit yet so how can you call them a top team?
2013-02-18 20:46:07
uhm? 4 top teams? lmfao. 1.6 bias more please.

2013-02-18 20:45:13
looking at ESEA top4 standings three of them will be at techlabs
2013-02-18 20:46:48
3/4 != 4/4
2013-02-18 20:48:05
wow, that's some great math skills. did you graduate on MIT?
2013-02-18 21:30:47
lmao yes actually D:
2013-02-18 21:40:46
Virtus.pro haven't proved anything yet that they're top4 team. They've only participated in 1 lan event (which was a 4-team...)

anyway VG should be instead of Navi or VP, then it MIGHT be called TOP4 TEAMS
2013-02-18 20:54:15
Well it is actually titled 4 top teams, not top 4 teams. But I agree, VG should have been invited instead of VP or Navi
2013-02-18 21:39:19
OH YEAH!
NAVIGO! <3

So many Go events jesus christ.

also it is another nail on the coffin for 1.6. U MAD ?

2013-02-18 20:47:34
i think this will be the best csgo tournament so far
2013-02-18 20:48:03
The surge of GO tournaments and the long sought after unity between the 1.6 and source communities is so lovely to see after all these years. E-sports, and CS:GO specifically, is growing at a rapid rate and I am eager to see what more the future holds.
2013-02-18 20:50:36

4 1.6 teams. Come at us, Sourcers.
2013-02-18 20:59:47
yeah only two saucers, nice. and if we are talking about VG, believe me or not but till summer they will be out of top5 ;)
2013-02-18 21:34:32
Ye cus vg skill stays the same while others increase to match them, same as NiP.......oh wait
2013-02-18 21:40:21
ESC and NAVI are doing bootcamp all the time.. VG hasn't had a single bootcamp yet but are having some in some months.. stfu you know nothing
2013-02-18 21:43:14
this just proves dedication and hardcore training to become the best like in 1.6 while saucers dont give a shit and start going down on list
cry more , and go back from where you came from
2013-02-18 21:56:32
VG are better then ESC + navi and they dont bootcamp.. they have the more talented players and they did bootcamps in source but havent had the time to do it yet in csgo so STFU you know nothing either
2013-02-18 21:59:55
they are going down~ , stop beeing mad

And we all know, that the saucers are redundant on the NiP lineup. They could easily keep dominating, with 2 1.6'ers instead.

However, I gotta admit, I really like fribergs style. Big ups to him.
2013-02-18 23:00:09
If they replace firberg and fifflaren they will go nothing but down.

2013-02-18 22:03:21
This is actually the real top4 in a month or so.
2013-02-18 22:09:46
kick esc and add curse, verygame, imaginary, lemondogs
2013-02-18 22:14:53
fucking nice tournament without saucers(friberg and fifflaren arent majority in the team)
2013-02-18 22:22:24
Why lol? If all the teams with CS:S players quit today the CS:GO scene would go down. You would have a handful of professional teams who can perform at a good standard and the sponsors would lose interest. Same if it happened visa versa with 1.6 teams quitting. Both scenes need each other now to become one big scene and fully support the game together.
2013-02-19 03:03:53
finally techlabs also dropped 1.6.

Na'Vi doesn't make the top 10
2013-02-19 01:46:25
NaVi being there is nothing short of a joke. Have a feeling this event was probably organised by somebody with a wooden pc.
2013-02-19 03:02:04
na'vi gonna get destroyed, they need another 2 months before they can beat these teams
2013-02-19 04:14:24
They already beat esc
2013-02-19 08:10:02
yea, as few other teams ONLINE. :D
esc is losing in same way as in 1.6
2013-02-19 11:31:46
oh wow , wonderful matches
2013-02-19 11:08:36
GOGO VP
2013-02-19 11:28:31
So many retarded comments about navi being shit in go . Guys , they trained a lot in the last few months and belive me soon they will be top3 .
2013-02-19 11:39:49
this is a fookken show-match tournament, why the fook smb need to replace vp and navi with non-CIS teams?
2013-02-19 13:20:33
Why so much bitching about Na'Vi? They are bootcamping and look how much they improved? Even they're game play changed, I mean positions, grenades and all other important things. They are adapting to CS:GO. I'm pretty sure they will do some real damage vs. these teams, also they already won versus ESC 16:9, so what's the big deal?
2013-02-19 13:20:44
1. Ninja/ESC
2. Ninja/ESC
3. Virtus Pro
