We're getting even further into the past with our "Frags from the Past" series. This time it's Danny "fRoD" Montaner holding his famous green weapon alongside with a Desert Eagle against Team 3D back in 2005.
CompLexity were up 7-1 on CT side when Team 3D attacked A from short and carpets. In the beginning Danny "fRoD" Montaner holds the common position in arch to get rid of anyone going that way.
Even while smoked out the AWPer stood still, which paid off as his zoom was spot on an enemy coming from mid. He then re-set in small pit to rule out another Team 3D player with a wallbang.
After being forced to draw his Desert Eagle, Montaner racked up another round for compLexity with two headshots from the powerful pistol.

I miss method and shaguar the most. The CGS caused so many of the best NA players to retire shortly after the CGS became a thing that it's sickening to be honest. It completely destroyed the NA scene for many years to be honest, and we never truly recovered from it.
lol n people say the players in this time were bad. the best players in those times had some of the sickest fucking raw aim and reflexes ever seen including every year since then.
really wonder what is the key of the magic.. why 1.6 videos looks so much better that GO? it has so much more dynamic.. or is it just me? also matches are still quite boring in GO, seem kinda slow for me..
yah cbs was a weak player, dominator was meh as well, ksharp was washed up but still a good aimer, and rambo was still just a solid team player. 3d was grasping at straws at that point
You clearly are new. American and Brazilian scenes were still huge.
Invite was extremely competitive up until season 18 when premier was dropped.
I would love to see you play any team from this time, you talk like you would stand a chance.
Calling a player washed up when he took a one year break and later considered making a comeback in a whole different game in which he was one of the best is not very smart
burned out, washed up, wats the diff? point is that ksharp had already done more in cs at that point than most have in their entire career and he didnt have the drive anymore.
Burned out - people who don't have the same desire to do something as before. Washed up - when someone just drag themselves doing something without performing as they used. Explained how I understand it. And yeah he was playing more for fun than money or anything. Which is a rare thing towards pro players these days
I would never call 3D weak but I remember when charliebizzle joined them they werent as strong as most if not all of their prior teams. He was bottom fragging most matches and the team was not as dominant as the 3D everyone was used to. I heard he was a super cool guy but just didnt fit with their style of play so was too bad.
I always thought Ksharp was strong, even when he came back to CS for source. In the begining he was on another level to everyone else (much like fRoD's domination in 04/05 being the first player to be +1000 on gotfrags old stats). Later Ksharp wasnt as much of a standout as his younger days but he was always solid, even right at the end. Im pretty sure he left because he lost the passion to play but he was still able to compete with all the CAL-i players for sure.
