Video: Interview with f0rest & GTR
By: MIRAA
Time: 2013-02-26 00:23
Game: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

We conclude our coverage of the Mad Catz CS:GO Invitational with a video interview with Ninjas in Pyjamas duo Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund and Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg.

The Swedish giants picked up where they had left off last year, winning their first LAN tournament of 2013 after comfortably defeating Anexis 2-0 in the grand final of the Austrian event.

Once again, NiP confirmed that they are one notch higher than the rest, winning all six matches without losing a single map to extend their unbeaten run on LAN even further.

This video interview with the NiP duo touches on a variety of subjects, such as the quality of the opposition in Vienna, VeryGames' struggle since picking up Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom and Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas' opinion that the Swedish team are killing the competitive CS:GO scene.

2013-02-26 09:34:07
+1 thats what money does to you, it change you. i mean look at him, he played a lot of years 1.6 and we can find a very few interviews and for a long time he said he wont do it cause he got shame, and after he joins GO... PUM!
2013-02-26 20:16:09
Well fuck if I had that kind of salary as he does (no prize winnings) for playing a pc game i'd do interviews aswell

Who did the interview, 'taz said your team is killing the scene' kinda out of context dont you think?

I explained the context in the question.
2013-02-26 00:46:33
I think he means that it came across like TaZ was flaming or being insulting, but in the interview he was very polite and logical.

I'm sure they probably knew that anyway. But I think this is what Topbunna meant.

No, you didn´t. I guess that´s why it came out "wrong".

No question about the health of GTR ? Is the surgery gave him full sens capacity ?
2013-02-26 01:37:24

2013-02-26 00:44:23
that was lol
2013-02-26 01:57:21
such a shame too, i think their record is amazing. they didnt waste any time switching, they went full steam ahead and they are reaping the benefits.

the scene will even out eventually.
2013-02-27 12:04:27
I think they want to lose aswell because its hard to motivate that extra practise match if ur always winning.
2013-03-04 10:31:36
f0rest sort of reminds me of elemeNt. He's just so clever and he feels many aspects of the game. That is why I also like cArn, mSx or kuben. Great interview. It's refreshing to see someone using their brain when answering instead of saying what they are expected to say.....like GTR does - "so to speak".
2013-02-26 00:52:42
nice guy that f0rest fella ;)

agreed with everything he said. It's not boring, just appreciate how awesome they are!
2013-02-26 00:54:14
nice interview

No offense Chris, but Patrik could do all the interviews from NiP that I wouldn't care.. :D

Awesome stuff and congratz.
2013-02-26 01:11:26
Great interview!

GTR loves to say "so to say" in all the interviews :))

2013-02-26 01:32:26
Nice interview Luis. Congrats.
2013-02-26 01:38:01
really nice view, MIRAA. waiting some more ones from you in future ;)
2013-02-26 01:55:28
I dont think they are killing the game.
More lifting it, who wouldn't wanna be the first to win against nip.
Navi and esc will be one of them imo :)
2013-02-26 01:55:35
yes. it just get that roster of nip into the group of legendary teams in cs.
2013-02-26 01:58:38
Did you pay f0rest? :p
2013-02-26 02:07:24
For sure looking forward to Techlabs, sounds like a great tournament to me with those 4 teams.
2013-02-26 02:19:05
yeah yeah for shore
2013-02-26 02:45:12
I think NiP will lose their first map on LAN here, maybe even their first game.
2013-02-26 02:51:17
its possible :)
2013-02-26 02:54:43
f0rest så smart, gl in the next tournaments guys! :)
2013-02-26 02:43:55
get_right has never looked so tanned before
2013-02-26 02:47:07
Feel like Navi is going to be the team to take away the map win streak from Nip at cph games on dust2. Cant really expect them to win the whole match(as in bo3) but they could definitely take a map.
2013-02-26 03:31:10
cph games date?
2013-02-26 04:55:24
march 27
2013-02-26 06:30:31
a month later :(, r there going to be any other lan tournaments in betn?
2013-02-26 06:38:35
only i48 on march 25... :(
2013-02-26 17:02:16
nice interview and its kind of disheartening for them to hear that ppl r flaming instead of admiring their winning streak. As for me its quite interesting to see their winning streak but time will come when they ll lose their 1st map and game as well but they already made the history :)
2013-02-26 04:54:48
i think the amount of tournaments and cash pool speaks quite clearly against the point that nip are killing the competition.

2013-02-26 06:55:59
You think they inject adrenalin?
2013-02-26 23:28:21
good interview i guess

2013-02-26 07:11:33

2013-02-26 07:44:33
Dream to see you in Moscow.
Na'Vi, ESC, VP, NiP - it will be a battle.
2013-02-26 07:47:45
f0rest seems like such a good guy. Great interview and congratulations once again!

I totally agree with f0rest that one does not simply replace RpK. He was a huge player for VG and although ScreaM has the best aim out there he isnt as complete as a player.

I've got my money on Navi to do the dirty work and beat NiP.
2013-02-26 07:59:27
ffs how can people saying that they are destroying the scene? They can't just fall down and loose.. Appreciate that they are wining every single lan game! The one's who is destroying the game is the other teams who don't give enough of effort to the game.
2013-02-26 09:35:51
Yeah I dont get why people are saying that NiP is killing the scene lol. It's more like they are motivating people to beat them and take the first win against them on LAN. Also CS:GO wouldnt be near the level of 'success' it has today if it werent for HeatoN resurrecting NiP with that mighty lineup

Good interview!

NaVi should be able to challenge them within a few months. Think Copenhagen will go something like NiP, Anexis, NaVi, ESC, VG though.

Cheers f0rest and especially GTR for putting up some good shows. GTR won that first map for NiP, and that's why they're so impossible to beat. When the other team finally does well enough GTR shots them down. "Like a young nastyman, coming in for ze quickie..!"

2013-02-26 14:43:11
why isnt there any swedish guy who can speak the word "just" properly?
2013-02-26 14:44:58
because the letter J is pronounced differently in swedish
2013-02-26 17:06:25
wat f0rest grow beard? ok i do same
2013-02-26 15:26:04
even from fifflaren interview u can tell the not phased from the source teams but they fear esc/na'vi/vp
2013-02-26 16:42:20
because they have beat verynoobs so much, the only challenging team with source players in it. nothing to do with 1.6>source.
2013-02-26 17:05:06

Very strong interview with right questions. I really didnt except that they are such a nice persons. Thank you HLTV.org
2013-02-27 00:16:52
What were you expecting? GeT_RiGhT may have some less fortunate moments, but hes a nice guy who gets really missunderstood by at least 50% of the people in this forum.. About f0rest theres nothing to say, second most humble and nice guy behind TaZ.
2013-02-27 11:55:55
and Taz is second after neo in humility

nice interview by HLTV
2013-02-27 12:32:25
forest is totally right with VERYGAMES, ScreaM and RPK.

RPK was most likely a guy who runs and make entry frags like no one else (the TANK was not for nothing).

ScreaM of course has maybe the best aim we have ever seen in cs:go at the moment, but his gameplay can't be compared with RPK one. He's not running everywhere, and not aggressive at all, don't remember well from his period when he was playing for ImG, but now in VG he's often he last man standing, because he plays very very safe.

VG has to change positions, new set of strats that match better their actual players, right guys at the rights places, ...

well, just my opinion, but clearly something is wrong with them atm (sad cause they have some of the most outstanding players u could ever have tbh).

NiP killing the scene? Teams need to stop losing 70% of 3on1 rounds vs GeT_RiGhT. You cant expect to win them if you let a guy eat you like that.
2013-02-27 17:36:38
nice interview
2013-02-27 20:41:54
Two legends
2013-02-28 11:06:37
It's kind of true though, NiP always winning makes CS:GO stream looks boring, in 1.6 it wasn't thanks to NaVi, ESC Gaming, Fnatic etc, i can't wait to see NaVi back to the competitive CS.
2013-02-28 20:00:19
Really nice answers from f0rest.
