VeryGames leave SLTV StarSeries V
Time: 2013-03-04 20:02
Game: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

VeryGames have decided to drop out of SLTV StarSeries V despite a 3-0 start to their campaign in order to focus more on preparing for the upcoming LAN events.

The third place finishers at Mad Catz CS:GO Invitational went on to state that during the month leading up to the event in Vienna, they had to play twenty-four official matches on the internet, which made their preparation suffer.

The French side had secured wins over Faith, KerchNET and mousesports in the league, and were heavy favorites to clinch one of the four spots at the finals in Kiev in a month's time.

ScreaM & co leave SLTV StarSeries V to focus on practicing

On the team's website, Jérôme "NiaK" Sudries furthermore stated that despite clocking in tons of hours in-game, the team wasn't being as productive as they should have been due to continuous matches, an average of six per week.

VeryGames were expected to face off against Ukrainian Natus Vincere yesterday, but decided to use their wildcard to postpone the match. The team is expected to still take part in RC EMS One Cup #4 next week to guarantee a spot in the main round.

nice

What is nice here? Starladder has nice LAN finals with good prizes(6000$ for 1st place, 15000 overall) at the end of each season. And still they left it to take part in this shitty two day EMS CUP with 600$ prize.
2013-03-05 08:37:21
guess they wudda have had lot more games in Starladder than in the EMS cups
2013-03-05 10:50:32
15 games for 3 months is too much? :) They are playing for 8 hours a day I guess.
2013-03-05 12:09:10
good for them
2013-03-04 20:04:40
good job
2013-03-04 20:05:08

2013-03-04 20:05:10
They won their three opening matches. Sore looseres, wtf?
2013-03-04 22:04:26
against kerchnet, faith, and mouseports.....yeah they are unbeatable
2013-03-04 22:22:35
No one said they are unbeatable lol. He just stated they aren't sore losers, which is correct because they have not lost a game :[

Just don't cry
2013-03-04 20:15:33
just because they don't play official matches it doesn't mean that they don't compete
2013-03-04 20:18:48
What is point in playing officials every day ? You get much more experiences and possibilities to change your strats by playing pracc's and not officials. I think they did a smart decision if it is true they played 25 matches per February. not including Vienna cup (1 official per day is too much) .
2013-03-05 14:07:14
new wave of leaving begins/
2013-03-04 20:13:00

luck is pretty much part of every game...
2013-03-05 00:13:41
in football is no need for strats, skill and aiming? and in cs there is no luck? kkthxbye.

2013-03-04 20:22:33
Now that is what you do. Get out of an online league when you have had some poor performances that turned into losses to prepare for the bread and butter. The LAN events. Hopefully this is a +, because announcing it then under performing, would be detrimental to the team.
2013-03-04 20:25:05
gg bb VG :)
nice desicion
2013-03-04 20:25:33
scared
2013-03-04 20:26:35
i'm a little bit disappointed about it, but if it helps them to improve the way they play, it should be a nice decision
2013-03-04 20:29:00
Understandable that they want less of their games being streamed/GO.tv'ed to avoid getting anti-strated like Anexis did.

My thoughts
2013-03-04 22:51:30
VeryGames biggest problem is that they rely to much on their strats..Just look at a team such as NiP (and even more teams catching up). Pulling down VG's pants..They should start focus more on individual skill instead of hardcoring strats. This is not CSS
2013-03-05 00:45:15
BTW its not 1.6 news.
2013-03-04 20:37:09
so they are banned from all upcoming SLTV tournaments, right?
2013-03-04 20:40:36
why would they be banned ? its retarded.

Its their decisioun their didnt bash SL organizers or anything. And they didnt any harm to anyone else by leaving. They even allowed another possible team to go into LAN finals.
2013-03-04 20:46:57
amm.. cuz of SLTV's rules maybe.. Last time 3 or 4 teams were banned.
2013-03-04 20:48:23
No harm? How about the sponsors behind SLTV? Verygames matches get very high viewers count, especially when they play with NaVi or NiP. They violated the agreement (or some kind of offer) with the league and that's the consequence.
2013-03-04 21:54:03
Any contracts somewhere ?
2013-03-05 00:42:51
they will probably be banned, otherwise its unfair to those who got banned last season after leaving
2013-03-05 00:42:35
Good decision imo, who gives a fuck about online tournaments at the end of the day, put more time into LAN strats.
2013-03-04 20:43:36
afaik starladder has lan finals.
2013-03-04 21:09:23

2013-03-04 20:46:08

2013-03-04 23:19:38
How can people say they are scared? LOL. "FNATIC ARE SO STRONG NOW WOW!" How can anyone say that when they haven't even played officials against the other top teams like NiP/ESC/Na'Vi/VG? If this dropout can help VG prepare for CPH and other lans why the hell would they not do it? Oh and to all you Na'Vi fanboys; Check out Mad Catz Invitational VG-NaVi before you say that they are scared of the team they beat 2-1 offfline. I do realize its no point in arguing with you since you don't have the ability to think logically.

2013-03-05 00:35:34
Man this was 1st NaVi lan in GO while VG was played alot lans before and still NaVi managed to take a map from them. In next Lan NaVi will crush them.
2013-03-05 10:22:55
unless Vg don't play official matches of Star ladder in order to practice for next lans...
2013-03-05 20:02:22
verynoobs have a fear
2013-03-05 00:03:19
wkkwkwkw
2013-03-05 04:53:16
I wouldn't drop out unless it was really hard for them to play. Playing in SLTV would have given them the chance of atleast using new strats or atleast aim practise or improve their chemistry.

2013-03-05 00:11:59
You would think that playing as many games in leagues would benefit, but what do I know. I certainly would play as many as I can.
2013-03-05 00:14:02
More time perfecting strats >

When VG used to pcw in source they would literally do the same strat every single round until they had it nailed, with a lot of official matches online they have less time to do this.
2013-03-05 00:42:21
And their strats aint working against top teams in GO, so they should start praccing their individual skill..."ScreaM to VG = BYEBYE NIP"
2013-03-05 00:50:28
I'm not sure if you are disagreeing or agreeing with what I'm saying lol. Their strats aren't working - correct, so surely they need to make spend more time making sure that they do.
2013-03-05 01:06:40
I guess, but still shame cuz was looking forward to VG vs fnatic in this league :/
2013-03-05 02:16:24
the league is shit anyway and na'vi are noobs

kthxbb
2013-03-05 01:01:22
+1 Nip > ALL
2013-03-05 10:48:36
why bother? nip wins
2013-03-05 01:13:21
they gonna be prepared for lan well coz they will have 'no fear lvl 999+'
2013-03-05 02:14:10
Wonder how long until StarLadder bans them from all future events for "wasting our time".

well there are so many LANS and StarLadder is one of the smallest lowest and not that much interesting...
2013-03-05 07:14:30
3 months later VG disbands <33333
2013-03-05 08:37:56
its an organization they cant disband they have lot of money..they can only release the team and sign another one if thats what you thought.
2013-03-05 10:10:21
This is good news in my opinion. At the moment they need more practice than playing matches.
