The Electronic Sports League (ESL) has announced that Epsilon have been disqualified from RaidCall EMS One after being caught cheating in the first cup.
The Swedish team came out on top of EMS One Cup #1 by defeating n!faculty 2-0 in the grand final, racking up $600 and 100 points, which assured them of a great position in the ranking and put them with one foot in the group stage.
After the match, however, n!faculty filed a protest - which was not made public on the ESL's match page - as they suspected of some wrongdoing on Epsilon's part.
Having reviewed the case and analysed the demos from the match, the ESL's anti-cheat team has unanimously come to the conclusion that Jerry "xelos" Råberg cheated in that match, which was the only one that the admins went through as no other protests were filed against Epsilon in that cup or in any of the other two cups.
HLTV.org understands that the ESL does not know whether the other four Epsilon players cheated or not, only that it has enough evidence to support a case against Råberg.
As a result, Epsilon have been disqualified from this season of EMS One, while Råberg, who is currently playing for WRTT after being released by Epsilon last week, has been handed a two-year ban from all ESL competitions. The protest is now closed, and no further action will be taken.
The distribution of points in the first cup has been altered to reflect Epsilon's disqualification, with n!faculty now crowned champions of the tournament. The $800 that the Swedish team were supposed to win from their efforts in the first and second cups have now been distributed amongst the teams who finished first to fourth place.
Below you can find the updated rankings for the first two EMS cups:
RaidCall EMS One Cup #1 final standings:
1. n!faculty - $750 (100 points)
3-4. Imaginary - $125 (50 points)
3-4. NiP - $125 (50 points)
RaidCall EMS One Cup #2 final standings:
1. NiP - $750 (100 points)
3-4. Imaginary - $125 (50 points)
3-4. 3DMAX - $125 (50 points)
Below you can find a statement from Lari Syrota, Product Manager for EMS One:
"After Epsilon defeated n!faculty in the grand final of CS:GO Cup #1, the latter team filed a protest. Being aware of our responsibility, we made sure to handle this case with utmost care and diligence. And yet, after careful consideration, our anti-cheat team unanimously came to the conclusion that the Epsilon player Jerry 'xelos' Råberg cheated in said match."The consequences are clear: The player in question is banned from all ESL competitions for the following two years and Epsilon eSports is disqualified from the RaidCall EMS One Spring 2013. We subsequently declare n!faculty the winner of Cup #1, redistributing the 2000$ prize money of both cups to the remaining three teams."We take cheating issues very seriously here at the ESL, since we are aware that ensuring a fair competitive environment is the necessary fundament for successful and exciting online tournaments. Gladly, we do not only possess advanced anti-cheat technology, but also an anti-cheat admin crew with multiple years of experience and the necessary confidence to take on such cases. We will always try our best to prohibit players from taking any sort of unfair advantage."
The news will certainly raise questions about the future of Epsilon, who had signed up for the fourth EMS One Cup, which starts tonight, with former Lemondogs captain André "berg" Kjellberg and ex-Western Wolves member Jonathan "devilwalk" Lundberg as their last two players.
The Swedish team have signed up for Copenhagen Games later this month and will have to take part in the qualifier after failing to receive an invite to the main tournament.
i told you that lurpis will say some bullshit
Bullshit. Im glad they busted your ass.

Like, they can't even say what type of cheat it was? It was just a cheat?
Post edited 2013-03-13 16:22:38
u SRSLY want to defend this cheater team? Like.... srsly?! Swedes these days....
It's really unfair of ESL to just make these claims and fuck his career up, because he will be regarded as a cheater now from everyone.
like you did last year right against us without foxj?
Post edited 2013-03-13 19:31:12
Why do you think it took several weeks to come up with this descision? The ban is justified, you can download the demos yourself, if you want proof. Biased germans, sure, biased swede.
God, germans these days...
As for xelos, I doubt they would ban him for two years without proof he cheated.
You know, they're destroying careers with no proof because brainless people like you believe anything a pretty notorious organisation says. :)
Colon was banned @ clanbase for cheating but when seeing the records about him there is nothing at all.
For this one i don't know, someone should do a video about it with wh

there is a smoke that's true but only 1
Sometimes you have info of your mates for example ct corridor/ bpa/heaton.
That guy small ladder that comes at the beginning is info i bet or just sound because he goes really fast on that small ladder to go fuse box/train 5
If they baned xelos for cheating then suffice to say he was caught cheating by their anti-cheat, or at the very least his actions were suspicious enough to warrant a ban for 2 years. As for the others, well, I personally think that they're not legit, but given the ESL have no evidence to back that up their decision not to ban them seems pretty justified.
Post edited 2013-03-13 16:41:01
ESL have a professional experienced team(paid too i think) that watches strange demos , and the proof is public , download the demo and watch it by yourself , now stop defending your shitty mates and thank god the protest wasn't filled againts the others too but only againts xelos :D
just because you havent seen the proof doesnt mean its not there. be a annoyance to ESL if you want those demoes.
Epsilon #1 cheaters in CS history.
wanted to look for his vods but i can only see 2 at xelos account
Have been found clean after being accused of aimbotting and wallhacking.
Xelos however has been confirmed to cheating.
All other 3 players were said innocent by ESL (reviewed demos) and only Xelos to be said cheating.
The only guy, nd maybe Lox, whom i thought were the only Non-Cheaters there.
Post edited 2013-03-13 16:22:18
Xelos' picture also was on EsportSM.. dude run!
They were in the internet cafe only on the sencond cup, when they didn't do shit.
but way to go, no mercy for this filth. 4 targets left.
Heard ESL will contact HLTV for misleading information.
Thanks, so lame though.
btw xelos played well in swedish masters and i feel pretty sad for him and for his future.
hope there are real proofs behind this, btw gl to wrtt and epsilon for their future.
This does mean for Epsilon, having a couple weeks ago released Xelos & Lox, for reasons apart, is promising for their next appearance at CPHGames with Jesper (who everyone continually accuses of cheating, yet has now been cleared). Same with flusha! or schneider!
It's unfortunately HLTV does not write correct information such as fragbyte does.
Post edited 2013-03-13 16:42:41
The ESL does not say that the other four guys did not cheat, so they are not clearing them. They just say that there is not evidence to say they cheated, which is completely different.
The ESL does not state that someone is clean, only that someone cheated.
So stop writing bullshit because I am in contact with the ESL admins.

-I want to have some real proof, im not a cheat expert so i dont know what to look for in the demo etc. 2 years is enough to crash his future plans, so making sure that there is no question about it, they should make the proof public.
-IF he did cheat, they should make a case for all the players in the team, i doubt that no one in his team knew.
Where is jEspErWoOWowoOWO putting n1? nice team? etc in every single thread now? Hope they get kicked from Epsilon and every single tournament.

feel srry for the (ex)/players
NEPsilon bende noobs xD
A few days later he confessed that he have been using organner.pl, and at some minor lans. He is now banned from any danish event for 2 years.
His pc will be checked.
Accuracy would be too high they can see that.

And some stuff from 1.6:
this century has something called mumble, skype, vent and more, pick one.
he sees the guy window but will be his 2nd frag because a guy from the left comes in to frag him and fails afterwards you have 2nd frag he saw earlier, 3rd frag is xyp9x that he didn't see but xyp9x killed Schneider teammate so he knows he is there and 4th just positioning.
however it is cheat xD
Post edited 2013-03-13 17:13:21
And how do you know he got no info - as i see it, xyp9x shot one of his teammates, and then got shot ..

So many people defending cheaters like coloN back in the days, its abnormal. Get a fucking grip seriously
People are human. Also Colon didn't cheat, only morons think he did.

Im well aware of IEM and Go4 Cups and what not, but i can't see why that should have any affect on them being more trustworthy regarding anything for that matter.
Im not defending either, i want to see the proof, why do you have to be so offensive towards me, it's obviously you that should get a grip around here.
Honestly, stop being so mad ;)
LOOK HERE: http://en.esl.tv/video/a71f63c219e7e124/
AT 05:57 at the first kill by kirby...real strange stuff there...not taking any comclusions, but it's wierd...
Other news at 14:25 you can see xelos, what might be some hard purchased cheats there...
Post edited 2013-03-13 17:24:01
You dont go to court either and get a 10 year sentence without seeing evidence.
Please, stop yourself, and whats up with calling other people "Fanboys" like its some bad word.
rubbe - Aguila fan.
So who the fuck cares, they're smelly cheaters and get over it already
hax.se isnt never been secret
Funny how Xelos has been removed from the team for no apparent reason beforehand aswell (seriously, coming out of nowhere and beating teams that actively participated in the professional scene for months and then reconstructing the whole team?), conveniently enough along with another player. Smells like damage preventing for me - imagine what this news would have done if he had still been part of Epsilon's roster by the time of its release.
Not only that, but now certain people are as cheeky as to abuse this bust in order to "prove" the other player's "innocence". That's pathetic really.
As far as the "LAN" aspect of this is concerned; don't you find it rather odd that they waited until they won against both imG and n! before they announced they were playing @ some netcafe? Also, what do we really have from said "LAN"? A 30sec. video and some pictures. Even disregarding the fact that it is possible to cheat on LAN, that can hardly make for a LAN-proven lineup.
However, the organization and I think even the (remaining) players themselves really want to come up as a legit team to be reckoned with in the top scene and I wouldn't say they don't have the chance of doing so skill- and motiviation-wise. It's just that the community has to give them the chance aswell.
there is the demo! check it with r_drawothermodel 2 and comment what you think!
ESL German admins just prefer seeing a German team 1st instead of 2nd, that's all, the demos are totally clean.
"admin crew with multiple years of experience" : couldn't help laughing, sorry.
raw talent exist. Many NA player got accused of cheating and turned out to be amazing.
an exemple would be freakazoid. For a whole year , he was accused of cheating and it turns out hes a top 10 NA player on lan.
This is what happens when you ban on demo. Esea bans from client only and they never do a mistake. this is why we will always have a better online community than the EURO's.
I thought ESL was way more professional than this. Just watched the demo and can't find anything that deserves ban, expect SOME situations that are suspicious but nothing you can ban for. Shame on ESL
the dude is pretty nuts. you can't cheat for more than 2 month on esea without getting banned.
if anything , shame on ESL
100 adr with 1 fpr and 13.50 rws? also his previous months are over 14.50
that is considered nuts sorry
that is me actually :)
view his january month & other months, post again now
on the link heres a preview for you bozo.
top 21 for adr
top 14 for fpr
top 10 for rws
yea hes not nuts , your just a dumb sack of shit you can't read numbers in front of you.
ps : the numbers below his adr / fpr / rws are his ranking in the overall euro stats

coloN's demo looked totally hacked from a certain point of view, but actually everything was clean.
The only thing is that xelos' demos are clean, and no cheat is apparent.
You can't ban someone on demo, excepted if it is REALLY obvious.
Btw, I lol'd at this "possess advanced anti-cheat technology" : Oh really, is that why you have to go through demo viewing ?
still today even if he got a 1 year ban he should be unbanned soon !
your damn right the demos are normal i guess his playing style is unique :o
sry, sry for insultes
cheaters line-up ?

They were at an internet cafe and played so he didnt use any sort of wh and he missed many shots he would have got if he had aimbot so this is just like AlphaTier v2 for those of u who know who he is.
However, I am 90% sure, that xelos demos are clean.
PS. ESL will not give any "proof" or timings. It's their policy.
The same goes for the automatic Wire bans. If you ask for a proof of cheating, you receive an anwser like: 'sorry, but we can't give you such info blablabla', that causes also you can't write a rehab essay.
Post edited 2013-03-13 18:35:57
I've also watched his demos and they atleast look clean, they probably wont give out proof but xelos should be able to protest his ban (mby he is?).
Post edited 2013-03-13 18:35:34
As is evident by this thread. Being vague just makes people question the ruling and/or crying foul. Which is of no benefit to anyone.
In real life, no. But over the Internet it's completely different, no matter what evidence ESL would reveal people would still complain.
One of the main reasons they don't give out evidence is so the cheater has no idea how he was caught. If they told him they banned him for ESP for example, he'd take note to either not use ESP or be more careful in the future.
Which in turn would make it harder to catch him in the future if he cheated again. It would also 'alert' other cheaters using the same feature.
I fail to see how banning someone for wallhacking and producing evidence to support your claim is going benefit other cheaters out there.

never play well against them they`ll Report !
as long as its possible to cheat online noone should take ANY online match serious.
If they v got suspicion of someone they are gonna ask his webcam record, of course not every1 has a webcam but still it was a good idea to fight cheaters xD
1.Germans were always whiners,ALWAYS
2.coloN was clear like the ass of the god himself
Anyways, you, dogs, got your bone you don't need proofs
Paradox was banned by CAL for "cheating" and went on to win numerous LAN tournaments/play for the SF OPTX in CGS. I'll trust the ESEA anti-cheat client over ESL's hearsay. It's silly how everyone is guilty until proven innocent in this community.

never go lan and play the worlds most ridiclous counter strike online
smash esc 16-0 and smash nip with nothing but aim. still wont lan
player gets banned for cheating by ESL
and people say not guilty
That should tell already something to people
