Natus Vincere has clawed their way back into the game after trailing 5-10 at half to defeat NiP 16-12 with an 11-2 counter-terrorist side on de_dust2_se in SLTV StarSeries V.
The match started with both sides trading rounds early on as NiP won the opening pistol but Na`Vi made them pay for their over-aggression on the following anti-save round which saw Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund push to death in the middle area.
Tied at five each a few rounds later the Swedes showed their standard Counter-Strike: Global Offensive form and started pulling away, eventually changing sides with a comfortable 10-5 lead.
Now on the harder side of the map, the bootcamping Natus Vincere team wouldn't give up, and some important AWP shots by Yegor "markeloff" Markelov allowed the team to win eight straight rounds.
NiP mounted a comeback at 10-13 with two rounds of their own, Na`Vi were too determined to allow the Swedes back in and closed the door with three more rounds for a 16-12 win.
With Na`Vi bootcamping in Kiev and everyone but Richard "Xizt" Landström in the NiP game room of Inferno Online, the match definitely upps the ante coming into the weekend's TECHLABS Cup where both teams will be present.
like gtr said on nip stream's interview post-game, na`vi are always better on lan (although this counts as lan basically for them due to bootcamp), whereas a team like n!faculty is significantly weaker.
this doesn't prove nip is about to lose on lan or is getting worse, but it does prove what the eye test also confirms - na`vi is getting better all across the board.
Even though my list is inaccurate as well seeing that there is no way to know for sure before after CPH.
WW/ESC better than NaVi or Anexis. Not sure if serious.
ESC 16:5 Anexis this week.
and you have to see na'vi beating ESC to say that they are better atm. not just hating ESC.

By that logic though, you could say Na'Vi are not near the top 5, as the only decent team they beat at Vienna was n!faculty, but everybody knows they are a strong side fighting for a spot in the higher end of the ranking regardless of that fact. I do get the point you are making though, but I personally think it would be ridiculously to count WW out of the top 5 after that performance. Also not forgetting they did win the Danish HKLAN beating fnatic (albeit with a different lineup).

That fnatic team at HKLAN were getting whooped by pretty much every top team in europe !
NiP are still #1 obviously..
ESC/VG/WW/VP/Na'vi/Fnatic and maybe Anexis are all contenders for a top5 spot for me.. Hell, even a couple of the US teams could be up there over the next few months. Will make for great viewing anyway !

"...and took NiP to 16-13 on LAN..." nip was up 14-5 after starting on the much harder side.
are we really supposed to believe they didn't just stop trying as hard/lose focus/feel too comfortable with the win/take their foot off the pedal etc?
as far as i'm concerned anexis lost both maps in the final 16-5, and i'm pretty sure that's how nip feels as well. it wasn't ever close.
you might start to worry a bit at 15-13, but they were *NEVER* even remotely close to winning a map, whereas teams like curse could have legitimately beaten nip on lan before.
Regardless of that, I do understand what you are saying, it wasn't like the ESC game where they were on the brink of taking a map off NiP and then threw it away, but they still did extremely well to get to that point, and destroy VeryGames on 3 maps.
It would be silly to assume WW are not in the top 5 at the moment though, if that is what you are trying to prove at least.
i never suggested ww isn't one of the top teams (in fact i posted in this same news' comments stating they currently are).
all i'm saying is they were not at all close to taking a map from nip. the score is extremely misleading.
And as they're already performing this well against NIP, it wouldn't suprise me if they were already in the top5.

esc beats nip -> no news
navi beats nip -> news
cmon read the news sometimes
i went back and looked at it, and the reason n!faculty didn't get a post is because the match took place on a worldwide holiday so both me and miraa were out and therefore unable to post.
sorry to smash your conspiracy theory, but it simply doesn't have any truth to it. maybe esl should schedule their online cups to not take place on major holidays?
the rest is totally random. everyone can beat everyone.
but markeloff+awp+dust2 gg
Greets for Na'Vi from Poland.
