The World Cyber Games (WCG) committee has released the list of games that will be played at the 2013 event, with Counter-Strike a notable absentee.
Back in April, the WCG released a promotional video about this year's event, automatically leading to all sorts of speculation about which games would be played.
After Counter-Strike Online was played as a promotional game in 2012, with TyLoo coming out on top, it has now been confirmed that neither CSO nor CS:GO will grace the stage this year.
WCG 2013 will run from November 28th to December 1st in Kunshan - the same location of last year's event - as part of a two-year deal reached in 2011 with the Chinese city, which is located inside the greater Suzhou region.
You can find below the complete list of games for this event:
- League of Legends
- Super Street Fighter IV
- Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm
- Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne
- World of Tanks
- FIFA 14
- Ni Zhan
- QQ Speed

China have 1347,2 mln ppl and you are telling me that among 1347,2 mln ppl nobody have decent PC to play this crap game???
I mean wot like "what", because there is no CS at all.. I've never played World Of Tanks so I don't know how this game looks and no hate.. :)
I think BoxeR (sc/sc2) is playing WoT at competitive lvl.
And also the game sucks.
WoT is CS for mature auditory, whose hormones have calmed down. If you think, that you can win standing in a bush - you're wrong. Personally I prefer rushing from the first minute of a battle, however I have 65% W/L and 1900 efficiency overall. And I feel that 12 years of CS experience helps a lot.
But competitive WoT is so BORING to watch. It definitely needs attack-defence mode to prevent 10-minute standing on the positions.
the only thing i'm going to watch is wc3 probably.
Everything is bad in that game, you have to buy weapons with real money, the servers are always going down, the hitboxs of the player models are really buged, there're many OP weapons that are have really stupid skins (like pink weapons, gold, blue, weapons with flowers e.t.c)
The community of crossfire is really bad, kiddos screaming NOOB QQ and then they start a vote to kick you...
The delay in game is so big that you can actually die behind a wall that CANNOT be wallbanged.
TL:DR Crossfire is a game with lot of bugs and shouldn't be on the WCG list.
Btw, you don't HAVE to spend real money to have guns, it's just easier to, if you don't want to spend much time leveling up your account.
But look, the movement of crossfire and the in game skill of that game is so random that It's impossible for me to even enjoy 5min of that game.
But still, the z8games doesn't give a f#ck to improve in game errors and continue to make updates in the game only with new weapons.
That game is broken, the acceleration amont on the game is premade and you CANNOT change it.
You can change your sensibility but NOT you ACCELERATION, I mean Wtf? That game gives you no freedom to play and enjoy that "thing" that is considered a FPS.
You gotta keep in mind that it's a free to play game and if the devs have the chance to make money, they will do it. Since the game is being successful, they won't change it.
About the movement, I fine with it, it has it's own style. The game skill is not that random, because you can say that the better players are the ones that adapted better to the flaws of the game.
The recoil is broken
The community is worse than MOBA games
Movement is just terrible
Animations is meh..
These are things that will never change. I dno why people play this instead of other far more superior FPS games.
Old CF competitor.
The reason why people play it is because it's free, noob friendly (for the most part) and it doesn't require a good computer (although it really abuses your CPU for some reason).
PS : never heard of crossfire before..

It's a horrible bugged game that is hugely popular 'cause it's free. It's the kind of game PAY TO WIN, wich means that those who buy weapons with real money have a huge advantage
I hate CS:GO, but no cs and many stupid games on this tournament...really no comment...
Seriously, WC3? Let the game die.
Yeah about that, no way Blizzard is paying for their games to be featured.
CS GO wronk
Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm
Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne
World of Tanks
Is it rly that good to have so many adds? (btw is it f2p?)
Street Fighter: C'mon, who doesn't play fight games sometimes with friends? and it's fucking amazing to watch guys that really know how to play a fighting game.
Starcraft and Warcraft: 2 amazing RTS games.
WoT: I know nothing about it :D
I want to back cs 1.6 times...
And if they don't pick CS:O in their event why would they pick CS:GO?

will be me more fun..
fuck Wc3 ? really ...
Let the asians have their own gay-orgie at that event ... i couldent care less .. HLTV shouldent even focus that shit .. its a JOKE
Valve really dropped the ball by not making CS free to play.. D: RIP in peace
PS: WCG2012 featured CSOL for the same reason(Tiancity paid money for it).

China has TOP TEAMS in DOTA2... WCG only in it for the money .. Biggest joke ever ..

CS GO > CS 1.6
FIFA 14 > PES 14
FIFA 14 > PES 14 -> Mr obvious being obvious
but this: CS GO > CS 1.6??
DotA 2 is great but LoL is better for me ^^
Atleast we agree that CS 1.6 is 100 times better than cs:go :)
Post edited 2013-06-14 13:51:11
Shame really because WCG qualifiers used to be decent for 1.6

Nothing new here
I mean CrossFire has no level to replace Counter Strike 1.6 or Counter Strike GO.
Soz for the lost comp for cs:o/go players :(
WCG is dead,98% of Europe will not watching this shit.
Maybe this is what they want, competition only for Chinese guys.
im currently playing csgo ofcourse, but its obviously not THE TITLE..
i wonder what could be a solution :/ or do you believe csgo is gonna get there with a little bit of patience?
* RIP :go - deaded at birth

Post edited 2013-06-14 14:21:50
Suck this Valve... this is for what have you done with 1.6!!!
WCG SAYS: CS 1.6 OR GET THE FUCK OUT WITH THIS SHIT CALLED GO
After these months I know that heaton is an idiot.
HeatoN said that in april? The game had an average peek of 27k players everyday in april. Now in june the game peeks around 31k players. Which means that the game has grown.
Ive seen that the northamerican peek is a lot higher now as well, maybe 3k more than it used to be. I would make a guess and say that the game has got at least 10k active players since HeatoN said this. I wouldnt consider that too bad.
Normal streams have grown a lot too, the CS:GO category gets a lot more viewers even when there isnt a tournament going on.
The ESL raidcall qualifiers get decent amount of viewers, and during a day of these qualifiers the CS:GO category gets around 17k viewers and this is just qualifiers.
Well, lets see what dreamhack can show us since this is the time for CS:GO to really prove itself and hopefully get over 50k viewers another time.
The fact that they removed Dota 2 for LoL and CS(GO) for something like Crossfire shows their competence in the field. Hell, they should just rename the tournament to China Cyber Games.
WCG had to choose one game LOL or Dota 2, they choose LOL because it has bigger player base. Valve was pissed because of this and denied permission for cs on wcg.
...is TyLoo even playing CS:GO or still CS Online? :( :O
The most played = on the list.
No 1.6, no WCG.
But we have league of lesbians, a clone of cs 1.6 and outdated SSF 4 with some WC3 which is barely played outside China.
second team SK with GeT_RiGhT
This topic tells how little most of you who comments here know about e-sports today. WCG has been a total joke for years now. No one outside of China gives a shit about this tournament.
Last time i watched WCG it was sc2-tournament in 2011 and it was streamed by DAILYMOTION in 240p quality and 4:3 ratio without commentary.

Crossfire is just broken.
Rest seems legit.
Happy for wot.
WCG of the South Korea, by the South Korea, for the South Korea.
MLG? Only console games, aside from ... SC2 and LoL
Man ... WCG = joke, but these two are good?
So no excuses CSGO is just not the Game we deserve and probaly never will be cause it's in the hands of Valve.
when 0304 throw
how to aim
i am also cheater wallhack hs wallbang
fuck it, we keep playing :D

oh no wait there are more players playing on a 1.6 on daily then csgo, how mad
that's just plain wrong.
LOL, csgo can not get more then 400 views on twitch either LOL
that's just plain wrong x2.

here's a screenshot of mine that i made back in february, it clearly shows that peak concurrent players do NOT tell the whole picture. http://i.imgur.com/J6E8Yaq.jpg
i still fail to see why you think that the more players the game has, the better it is.

just shows how little you know about source... first of all, CGS is the reason why source went into decline, and after its death it actually started recovering... it was bigger than ever before in 2009/2010. source scene wasn't doing good in the US but neither was the 1.6 scene.
also the game doesn't suddenly become popular just because some of the pros switched to it... 95% of CSS playerbase didn't care about the pro scene, same with most of the competitive games, only LoL and DotA have been more or less successful in that aspect.
Sadly, but looks like this game will not be even close to 1.6 in terms of tournaments around the globe.
thank you for not choosing cs:go xD
1.6 wrong, csgo stronk!
HAHAHAHAHAAHAHHAHAHHA OMG HAHAHAHAHAHHAHA
WOW. THOSE ESPORTS TITLES FOR WORLD CYBER GAMES.
Fuckin change your name to CCG FOR FUCK SAKE. CHINESE FUCKERS.
csgo is a nonskillgame - right decision WCG !
still hope for a good cs :3
Crossfire in china is popular as fuck..
they had an tournament around 2 weeks ago which had a prize pool of 50.000 USD for the winner..
Crossfire isnt that popular in europe but the community in asian countries is huge as fuck.
So if the Main game of the WCG 2013 will be crossfire, i wouldnt be suprised.
If you aren't prepared to pay real $$$ you're gunna be screwed.
I played, had a normal m4, some kid who pays $5 a month to get a dragon m4 destroys me, because his has no recoil and a scope.
More money paid to Tencent the better you are online.
Ever since they went "mobile only" and then u-turned, they have been an absolute joke.
WCG just isn't the same anymore, they have been crippled by financial problems, and are a joke in the entire scene. It says so in the actual list of games they have there.
Hence why I say "no surprise". I wasn't counting on it, nor was I expecting it. No one should even be thinking we should have CS:GO in there, as we are probably better off being out of that loop.
i dont want to live on this planet anymore
+ dota 2
+ cs any version
best event of all time.
admit it, its not as representative as it was...
edit: Look at what I just found searching for "Tencent WCG"
"The official reason for the dropping of Dota 2 this year was not disclosed. However, a reliable insider who does not wish to be named told GosuGamers that the reason for the dropping of Dota 2 is due to an agreement made by Tencent (Company owning Riot) and NeoTV, host of WCG, to not have Dota 2 wherever LoL is present."

random#2: no csgo cuz fuck csgo
random#3: sponsors wrong
random#4: no csgo cuz ugly to watch
random#5: 1.6 back
random#6: no csgo cuz saucerz

Post edited 2013-06-14 20:16:02
I have never played cs:go (hurr durr med school and crap laptop) but I love keeping up with the tournaments and sincerely hope the game continues to progress. It's the only version of counter-strike left and I still find tournaments fun to watch.
Call of duty + CS:Global Offensive.
No Steam Games? lol
Who plays Frozen Throne in 2013?
And what the h is Ni Zhan? This is f-ed up...

World of Tanks
I use twitch daily, And WOT is not a game that attract viewers at all, Maybe they have the sponsors, But that wont help if the interest is not there...
I don't know why people are hating on GO so much, it brought me back to CS... But I guess it is like in other games, Suckers whine....
CS 1.6 competitive is history... Deal with it instead of crying like retarded babies without a life
I am aware that the local market is important but ignoring the games that are played outside of it does not make justice to the WCG trademark.
btw. no TEKKEN?
And they are not turning into Local Cyber Games , they are now the Local Cyber Games.
This is a joke.
Even Czero and CS:S was played at WCG.
And WC3 really??? this game is fucking 25years,older then first version of cs :D WCG administration is CRAZY!! Change it to DotA2
Post edited 2013-06-15 00:54:32
it is fucked up considering its WORLD cyber games, generally the only FPS e-sports title that should be there is CS:GO, but there market is only Asia.
Winter's Coming!... Brace Yourselves!
It's not like WCG is an important tournament. It lost its relevance to CS community a long time ago, the last enjoyable and half-important WCG tournament was probably back in 2010. Furthermore, the quality of last year's broadcast was terrible, so overall it's not a huge loss to not have a good game at a mediocre tournament.
At the end this guy gets some 'mAd 1b's' but the crosshair is about 2 meters behind the head. Reminds me of GO a bit.
sad about cs not being included.
I don't see passion in this game...Valve failed badly..And giving this game half price or free just give a freaken nice image about game..
Even shitty graphic cs 1.6 you must buy full price for it..
CS 1.6 has died as competitive level and that's fine...But at least we can still mix with people..
CS:GO matchmaking for nice feature..Valve should add it on cs 1.6 or source also:D
But to be honest I am day by day startin to hate russians..Something has changed inside me:D..I go matchmake and found out there is 2-6 russians playing...Talkin some shit all the time russian..
Yea yea I know I shouldnt play matchmake..
