The Portuguese organization just recently announced their brand new CS 1.6 team.

For quite some time the Portuguese organization has gambled on foreign teams, but never really reached the results they hoped for. Amongst others the Danish team DOGTAG has been on the payrole.

After a long period of underperforming they now decided to sign a brand new team put together of former Excello players; all with experience from the national team as well.

Excello states:

It is with utmost joy that the Excello board announces the return of its most loved 1.6 squad to its ranks. Welcome, once again, our new Portuguese 1.6 squad.
There is not much to say on this signing. Five of the players were already Excello ones, and they achieved the highest results of their careers udner our flag, besides having represented Portugal internationally. All of them are well known in the community, and they are a stable core that was never drawn apart in the past, not considering the necessary adjustments that real life forces every gaming squads. It is undeniable the long time flirt we had with this squad, since a bittersweet feeling was left since their departure, which was forcefully considered normal in a competitive scene.

Personally, I never hid the board and these players how much I would love to count them in again. Gladly, that day has come. Their maturity and humblity totally fits our desired representation of the Excello spirit, never underestimating their ability to win trophies. I am sure that we drew these guys from a certain and undeniable inactivity, and I have no doubt that they will guide themselves again to the top 1, keeping in mind that they never left the top of the scene. Once again, it is my strong belief that this is the strongest Portuguese core of players, being second to none in Iberia with due practise. Their real life obligations, which naturally flow from their age, will surely imply that this isn't a professional move. Yet, it is indisputable to me that their commitment will be more than enough. Their current status in gaming, being of group of veterans, allows me to say that this will be a lasting partnership, since both parties strive for it.

Fresh from the oven Excello player Eskondido wanted a saying as well:

We are glad to return to a house we know so well. We'll do our best to achieve again the success we already had under the Excello tag.
