ESEA co-founder Eric "lpkane" Thunberg says that it was his organisation's efforts that led to the recent VAC bans in the top tier of the CS:GO scene.
Earlier in the week, ALTERNATE's Simon "smn" Beck was banned on ESEA for a year for cheating, with the German player then revealing on Facebook that there were more professional players out there resorting to the same kind of tools he had been using.
After rumours about professional players cheating online and even on LAN began to spread like wildfire, it did not take long for Valve to get in touch with ESEA to learn what could be done to stop this new workshop cheat.
"We independently banned a high profile cheater, a german player, then worked with valve and shared our specific technique so that more pro players would get banned," he wrote on ESEA's forum.
"The results are starting to roll out with vac bans tonight, more to come soon."

Back to popcorn, give me a sec. Preparing more.. Coke or?
bye LDLC BYE FNATIC
4 Players hacking, and they didn't even get into the EPS..
Again volvo needs help from outsiders.. This time to teach them how to config vac :$
I for one, hope that more won't come soon. I would hope the rest of the scene are clean and that everyone weren't betrayed by more players than there already were. This generally is hurting CS, but in the same time at least the cheaters are caught.
fnatic - JW,olofm,krimz accused
vp - some are accused
HR - already bad
dignitas - chokenitas (never wil against NiP in majors)
titan - found cheater
epsilon - found cheater
After all this, fiffy will think that he was not so bad. These cheaters make him bad and NiP too. He might think of comeback if maikelele get a VACation...
seriously, in case of HR, it doesn't matter are they cheating or not? coz they are already bad.
The only question I would ask to Sf if I got a chance then it would be : "Why you were so bad in spite of you use cheats?"
I mean this is the hieght of the noobness that with cheats you are at bottom fragging.
Outside of NIP, who have lost maps to top NA teams before, all these eurotrash teams are full of hackers. Fucking garbage scene in Europe right now.
edit: pros could be interchanged with cheaters

I had said after the current LDLC players left Titan they should get Scream instead of Kioshima. I think that thread was deleted so I cannot link it.
good on you kane, fuck these nerds.
its about time VAC actually did something. make it happen.
This might be just the push they need to take them to a first place finish.

Sf CS:S i think? Maybe 1.6 though
KQLY in 1.6 no Lans = noob in 1.6
emilio in 1.6 - TOTAL SEMI-PRO
sf - cs:s
smn - cs:s
all of them are sAurce players
Kqly played css
and cly did some lans in 1.6 i think in the end of that game

He probably thinks that other cheaters should not have more luck than him, that's it. Cheaters are frauds, you can't trust the. He is like a criminal cooperating with the Police and counting on lowering his charges - nothing ethical here, pure vengeance and covering his own ass.
It's like a thief helping catch thieves
Post edited 2014-11-21 18:46:11
No, it hasn't. 1.6 had pretty good private anticheats.
Valve didn't care about VAC, thus didn't care about catching anyone within the competitive scene. Which is why most people got away with using private cheats in CS and Source. You can go find statements from cheat providers if you look.
Ban all "pro"-shitty players
BURN IN HELL LOSERS!!! - to all VAC-banned.
Best night ever.

kennyS - cleared
Hoyland inventory is empty
ANGE1YL inventory is empty of value
Simple have all his value
Post edited 2014-11-21 04:25:45
So KennyS is probably fine.

Based upon previous versions of the cheats that have been mentioned this could be done via peripherals as well.
There's still a little too much grey area, but I imagine it would be possible.
As I said though, I do agree about S1mple - in fact I don't see any reason to name anyone who's not actually been banned.
and esea and valve working together to catch cheaters; what alternate reality did i wake up into?. and anyone care to comment on where the NA vs Euro debate stands atm?

but come on fAST I need this dose to sleep!!!!

So 'technically' they would have these scrubs to thank for their success... :D
(You're welcome by the way...)
you're asking if the na scene is the only legit scene because two french players got vac banned.
france is not the entire european scene.
ofcourse the eurpean scene are gonna have alot more cheaters than NA. we got alot more players.
- Just started to game again. This make me happy. Good job. Keep up the good work
I think its epic that ESEA/Valve finally got process and busts on this level of hacks, but i find it crucial that they provide some more information about these busts. A simple VAC ban in steam profile wont help the community at all.
It should be made public WHEN he got logged in ur programs, in WHICH GAME and if its a ONE TIME thing or did u see that the person hacked over several weeks/months (or even on LAN).
All these information are crucial in my opinion, bcuz right now we know nearly nothing except that they hacked at least once on a server, could have been a major semi final on LAN or a pug in the middle of the night.
Besides that, im still waiting to see some serious progress for the countless hackers in match making, which is the real problem for the majority of the community i guess. You can start some MM every night for a couple of days and there wont be one night where u dont meet some hackkid, its pathetic.

and who would end playing DHW?
i would none of them call cheater, but in the last month they improved very fast.
ps.: chrisj for me always doubtfull
Dont know why, but i am excited. ^^

then eventually 90% of "pro" players will be banned
fuck! haha :P
he nevaa said something like that
A shame the list have served as a warning to the rest, but that might have been crZy intent all along, though I don't believe he has that kind of manipulative skills.
They will slowly reveal the cheaters in the pro scene that VAC had no ability to discover. Name by name will be dropped slowly, crushing fans hearts, ruining organizations, and making the next cheat shake with paranoia knowing he will be reviled XD
Too much cheaters on MatchMaking, and now,as we can see, professionals too use cheat.
The ones who need help of a psych, call VALVE's hotline for support
Fifflaren top1 confirmed
Job Well done NIP,get everyone disqualified kappa.
BRB grabbing MNTDEW and Doritos.
Kio cheats no LDLC
1 of fnatic or VP cheats DQ
It will be a 2 team tournament NiP vs Bravado in final
Interesting, if he gets banned or not :-D
I wonder will this will end, hopefully fnatic is clean :S

Does LEGIJA just have a shitty inventory? (I have no idea, but never seen a pro using an AK Jungle Spray, or an M4a4 Tornado)
But I don't think he cheat now, and Im not sure he did, but thats what my gut feeling is.
I hate the fact that every time i played vs cheater i was so angry. Now i don't give a fuck
Post edited 2014-11-21 10:09:56
Interesting to see who's next
nobody with a non public cheat gets banned there (cly, smn etc. could still play esl)
and i dont wanna know how many guys in EPS.ger are hacking...
personally i really hope that spidii and denis gets VACation
Post edited 2014-11-21 12:23:33
I find it odd that's the madness of tweets for many players, but some like JW didn't say a word ...
If the cheat tech is based off of steam cloud, if steam cloud is like any other cloud or sync service I ever heard of, all actions on it would be logged? Maybe now Valve just know what to look for.
If so scanning accounts with their heuristic algorithms would suggest there's just a matter of time before all players who ever used this thing (assuming they're similar in nature) would get flagged?
Or am I missing something here?
I dont think they can hold on to the names for too long if DH needs to find more replacements.
At least, tell us if we can stop F5 hltv until DH will be finished or it will pay of to continue F5!
im sorry for them but well they cheated so they deserve it. So show us the next ban pleez :D
He could be still in the team ...
100% no one getting banned anymore
lpkane wanna score some easy points
yet his company is still an scam company which installs bitcoin clients on your computer
kennyS <3 is rlly awesome
It damages the image of professional scene of the game, but at the same time it resets it. Judging by Kioshimas and other popular player empty/hidden inventories...Valve has put a fear of getting caught out there and it's working.
Let's hope the amount of teams with cheaters in them stays as minimal as possible while hoping every cheater is caught once and for all. So we can enjoy legit DHW tournament.

The risk vs reward was too great.
Imagine if this leaked out twelve months down the line??
Jacob "pyth" Mourujärvi (Orbit)
Olof "olofm" Kajbjer (Fnatic)
Freddy "KRIMZ" Johansson (Fnatic)
Jesper "JW" Wecksell (Fnatic)
Karol "Rallen" Rodowicz (ESC Gaming)
Hovik "KQLY" Tovmassian (Titan)
Fabien "Kioshima" Fiey (Team LDLC)
Dan "Apex" Madesclaire (Titan)
no more pros will get banned cuz they stopped using the cheats since its public. and if there would be more pros cheating they would have got banned 12h ago.
And where are they?
He also said that there would be some bans mid-matches?
LOL, as I said, it's only PR for upcoming event, nothing more. No more bans, and ofc no bans at the middle of a match. C'mon.
It's just bullshit to attract attention to DHW, to get more viewers who will watch the matches to see that someone gets banned mid-match, lol.
Bans will not happen until after group play i bet...
