We got a hold of one of the winners of DreamHack Winter 2014, Richard "shox" Papillon, to see what his side of the grand final looked like.
Following LDLC's overtime win on Overpass, HLTV.org talked to Richard "shox" Papillon about the grand final with NiP. He shed some light on how the veto went for his team, shared his thoughts on all three maps and went on to reach out to the community to ask them not to hate fnatic.
Hit play below to see the winning interview in full:
This is the last video interview from DreamHack Winter 2014, but there are still a lot of photos yet to be uploaded. We are also in the process of extracting POV demos from tournament computers.

before the cheat scandal i loved them..
then comes the "cheaters" and now this!!
Now Hate them
fnatic won 6-1 but it was supposed to be mr3, but fnatic went 4-1 as T then 2-0 as ct on the OT
NiP complained to the admins because the OT settings were "wrong".
But the objective decision by admins would've been to set the result at 4-1 instead, since they won 5-1 then 2-0, which is the same as 2-1 2-0 in an mr3, but NiP got a replay of the OT nonetheless, and fnatic won again.
fnatic were pissed because nip tried to sneak a win by them, understandebly they were angry, angry enough to not shake hands, they also trashtalked nip. The reddit community got all upset and called it unsportsmanlike, to my mind NOONE needs to shake hands, they had already shook hands from the match before.
But since its such a "requirement" now, players should always shake hands :/ because the community is so sensitive while also having a substantially large impact on prizemoney, sponsors etc etc Players need to please them in whatever way possible.

Just because someone gets away with murder and leaves no evidence doesn't mean the victims aren't dead.

Look i think fnatic is shady too but using your logic is absolutely backwards and is the way archaic barbaric societies would live.

What's the right amount of proof needed? I don't know. But it's not right either that if someone doesn't get VAC banned he isn't cheating. Because it's very easy to cheat and not get VAC banned, we would have half of the pro scene cheating before long (if they already aren't).

more "his" video is not his statment , just what he think at this moment ,btw he said he dont known if fnatic cheat but flusha looks very suspect and when he said that "he will not shakehand" at his friend could be a kinda joke , we dont know ,nothing official
dont trust him :)
"DH:LDLC used a similar position on the first side of Overpass."
He just looked at the footage of flusha and olofm and talked about it. What's insulting about saying someone's suspicious or shady?
It's not destroying. Destroying would be trash talking it into oblivion back and forth for everyone to hear.
He just talked with people in privacy and it has been released. There's nothing wrong with speaking your mind. Every experienced player professional or amateur had the same thoughts as the flusha clips popped up.
Also he just pretty much said that flusha cheats and that he wont shake his hand on DHW. I dont know if he ended up doing it but flusha did cheat so at least he got that part right.
I know i will probably get banned because of this comment but i just can't stand brainless idiots like u
So let's not treat them with things that are hypertheorical.
And no, I am no way near to be a fnatic fan so don't get that in here as your argument.
Hate is strong word, but strongly dislike both Team Fnatic and Dreamhack as organization. It should not take an fucking community to get fair treatment for teams, it should have come right there and then.
Dreamhack got away with this crap too easily.
Don't forget that on a stream just before DH, Shox was talking about Flusha, that was something like "That guy is obviously cheating, I won't shake that son of a bitch hand" :D

I hope all events start the procedure of recording povs in all lan events.
I was feeling bad for LDLC at that moment that they can't do anything about and also thinking that they will loose just because of this spot(as they did).
And I feel bad for Fnatic because of community hate. This spot is fuck*ng OP, it is fuck*ng unfair and it is good that it is illegal. But it's some of kind smartness or something. For example that spot on inferno - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9WDheeTYfM. No one did hate because it's not that much OP. It is same as other spots where you could boost or could get by self, for example tree on inferno also.
Or some boost on mirage - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVhMGHPJoTc . No one did protest, why? Because it was not that OP as boost on overpass.

sorry to break this out for you but no one from fnatic is cheating :)
VAC bans inc hltv 2014 confirmed
i like LDLC a lot more after this tourney than i did before. maybe that is fnatics fault for being such poor sports that it makes everyone look great, but nonetheless GG ldlc
And for cheating, i hate them.
At least if my assumption is right that both of their boosts were found "illegal". The reasoning behind is that fnatic could have seen that LDLC used it first and were thinking; if they are allowed to use one, we are as well. Obviously knowing a better one, but they just got beaten at their own game. So in the end just let the match be played and go with the result. IF however the admins thought it was "illegal" during the match, they should have interfered when LDLC was doing it already. They let it go on, fnatic got a smarter one and won. End of story for me.
If I got my facts straight at least, but from what I saw, heared and read afterwards, that was pretty much it.
EDIT: It doesn't really matter for the point I'm trying to make, but yes I also think that fnatic boost ruins CS on that map, however, as I said, looking at the facts, it shouldn't have changed the outcome of the match.

you are right both teams broke the rules so the options are:
obviously not possible.
replay from ldlc 13-2.
not fair to fnatic because ldlc also broke the rules while getting 13 rounds.
replay from 0-0.
not fair to ldlc because they had so many round and the bug they used wasnt affecting the score.
use this rule: The following actions are strictly prohibited during a game and will result in round loss (the amount is determined by the tournament director) which will be deducted at the end of the match, and a warning.
fair imo. so iirc ldlc gets -5, fnatic gets -12 and ldlc wins because of higher score.
two other ways would be:
1) threat the legal played round as one half of a full game (ldlc 8 - 4) and play the second half of the game as mr6 in which ldlc needs one round to win.
2) look at the game as a whole mr15 (from which 12 round = mr6 are already played) and finish it as mr9. at a score of ldlc 8 - 4 there are 18 open rounds. every team gets 9 on both sides and the team with 16 rounds in total first wins.
fnatic should have known better and subjective ldlc did nothing wrong (even if it was against the rules). dw even said they knew about it for months so they decided not to tell valve and abuse it in the tournament as something you cant counter in that situation.
conclusion of all this drama: if you lose start to bugabuse and you get atleast one half replayed. gg.

1) admins should have interfered the moment LDLC did the boost.
2) let them both play the map to it's ultimate (yes game breaking), who-ever finds the best boost, and go with the score..
after all, LDLC are some great talents together and it's a "french dreamteam" so they probably do deserve to be with the big 4 now. Once I saw that new LDLC line up I was like, they gonna own bigtime. However, I do think with maikelele, NIP has the stronger line up, but LDLC won that match fair and square.
Too bad this overpass thing happened, everyone seems to forget that they are cheating faggots
LDLC is not the best team in the world, Fnatic is. They have yet to beat them in an honest way. Why do people even love a team pulling through as whiners?
LDLC saw NO ONE from their boost, you could only see a tiny place if they decided to go to the right side (which they never do, as everyone always goes right in that area in order to process) while fnatic litterly saw the entire map and was could only win because of that bug
no one gained profit by the texture glitch with a view at the spawn, but both teams used it.
fnatic used it 13 rounds = 13 rounds have to be given to LDLC
LDLC won, no h8 m8

That boost to win the game was genius and LDLC crying because they got owned while using a similar boost.
I dont understand the hate tha fnatic got from all these "outraged" nerds, but FNATIC YOU GOT MY RESPECT.
If Fnatic found it 2 months ago and didn't see they could watch through an invisible wall I can legit say they are fucking retarded for not noticing.
shox + f0rest > world
*they got all my respect, even if they cheat in the future

Nip > ALL
Fnatic >Ldlc .
Mad props to shoxie for being humble, admitting his critical mistakes and showing a large amount of respect to his competitors. World class player/professional.

"Now that fnatic did that and that and that i will stop cheering on them and i will hate them forever and yadayadayada"
Logic of HLTV.org
Logic of hltv.org got real.. u just proved my point u snail eating weirdo..
Legal or not.. it's just not right seeing that.
loved the finals. both teams justifiably battled with that map. always 1v2/1v1 esp in overtime. they really did their best. kudos to nip and ldlc.
For me VP vs LDLC deserved the final
Only reason why I see him say "dont hate fntic" is two.. he is so happy he dont know what the fuck hes sayin he just want home.. or, he hides hack as well.

He may say don't hate fnatic for greater good but sorry what they did on overpass was fkn disgusting and they deserve all hell that fell upon them.
1. for having cheaters in team
2. for abusing map in worst possile way at worst possible time
3. for acting like dikheads by pixelwalk and that carn tweet which is just way to offensive for any player that love cs
Post edited 2014-11-30 14:59:08
3.no rules has been broken
I hated fnatic before it was popular to hate them
First the whole team cry all over Twitter and once they finally get their shit as they want it's ok and Fnatic doesn't deserve the hate they just wanted and tried to get them.
French people disgusts me.
experts sorry imean nobodys haha
