SL I-League Invitational with $100k
By: MIRAA
Time: 2016-03-21 20:36
Game: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Starladder has announced its next big CS:GO tournament, called SL I-League Invitational #1, featuring $100,000 in prize money and offline finals in Kiev.

After two months after the end of the Season XIV Finals, which saw fnatic scoop the trophy after beating Natus Vincere 2-0 in the title decider, Starladder has unveiled the first details about its next CS:GO tournament, to be called Invitational #1.

A total of $100,000 will be at stake in the league, which will come to a close with an event at the majestic Olimpiyskiy National Sports Complex, home of Ukrainian football giant Dynamo Kiev, from May 19 to 22.

Eight teams will be competing at this offline event, where the top three teams from the European division plus the winner of the Chinese division will be joined by four sides invited by Starladder. Three of these invites have already been handed out, to Luminosity, Natus Vincere and Virtus.pro.

Olimpiyskiy National Sports Complex to host StarSeries Finals

The European division will consist of two separate stages, the first of which featuring four single-elimination brackets, each one with eight teams. The winner of each bracket will automatically advance to the next stage, in which they will be joined by four invited sides in a double-elimination group stage.

The winner of each group will secure spots at the offline finals, with the third European spot being contested by the two group runners-up.

Below you can find the quarter-final matchups for the first European bracket:

HellRaisers vs. Arcade
Enso vs. ALTERNATE aTTaX
Empire vs. AGG
eXplosive vs. Ancient

The schedule for the four European brackets looks as follows:

  • Bracket #1 - March 21-22
  • Bracket #2 - March 23-24
  • Bracket #3 - March 25-26
  • Bracket #4 - March 27-28

More details about the Chinese SL I-League Invitational division will be released by Starladder shortly, but HLTV.org has learned that Vici Gaming, AG, TyLoo and Wings have all received invites to compete in the tournament.

That doesn't matter at all, cause they didn't get an invite for a bad team, and if it would have been the best team in UK at least...

I don't think you've grasped how the qualifier works. Only one of the teams from the 1st bracket will move on to the second phase of the qualifier
2016-03-21 19:45:47
lel apparently i didn't :D, i thought semi winners and winner of semi losers-match would qualify

2016-03-21 19:42:00
Fnatic plays only the biggest tournaments - Majors, ESL, Faceit finals. They want to give a chance to another teams.
2016-03-21 19:47:13

2016-03-21 20:02:46

2016-03-21 20:35:53
I predict it will be a shitty LAN< but EZ for AGG
2016-03-21 20:16:45
Why would it be a shitty LAN? I mean yeah, so far it only has two tier 1 teams there but there are 3 european qualifiers.
2016-03-21 20:20:55
he meant delay + production value Zzzz

still couldnt worse than CounterPit lol but if it happen to be worse ......

2016-03-21 20:23:25
Star Ladder has generally had a good production quality.
2016-03-21 20:24:05
let's see if there's much delay like Star ladder XIII
2016-03-21 20:25:31
I do admit that the event in question was a bit delay...full, but that's like 1/10 events. They're no ESL, they have standards. :D
2016-03-21 20:27:40
I was thinking of CounterPit, I have nothing against SL. Nevermind
2016-03-21 20:47:54
Ah, I see. :D
