The World Electronic Sports Games (WESG) Finals presented by Alipay has revealed the groups for the tournament featuring 24 teams from around the globe.
The WESG Finals will be held at the Olympic Center in Changzhou, China from January 12-15 with $1.5 million on the line. The format and prize distribution for the event can be found in our previous article here.
We have also learnt that the Swedish team, Epsilon has replaced the former dignitas squad for the event. Due to the nationality rule, not all of the teams present will feature their full lineup unlike Virtus.pro, GODSENT and EnVyUs who will.
The twenty-four teams have been split into the following groups:
|Group A||Group B||Group C||Group D|
For the updated rosters of the participating teams so far, you can find it in our event page here.
TeamOne is harder than SK LUL
Other 3 has just about 2 (or 3 pretendents)

and why would they put envyus and virtus pro in the same group makes no sense

maybe VP shanked them then raped them to not come.
Dignitas was replaced by epsilon,as it says in the article.
SK immortals NIP fnatic decided not to play, because the obviously have won lots of events recently , kappa
Astralis, NiP, SK, Fnatic, C9 could've taken part in this tournament too I guess ?

Even WESG qualifiers was intense if you look back at the demos. And i can foresee there'll be many roster changes in 2017 for many top teams, if top 3 teams from group A couldn't make it to the semis.
Post edited 2016-12-26 08:30:06
also vp will crumble to some shit team
people will think slump
= semi at major
fucking poles man
WTF is Group A btw
Ez 4 SS, godsent, VG, igame, ukraine and tyloo
Then Group GODSENT and Kinguin
god this tournament will be easy for VP/GODSENT
Lets go Kinguin and VP obviously.
These tournaments need to learn to make groups properly...all good teams in 1 group...
but probably virtuspro/godsent/envyus will take it
2. - $400,000
3. - $200,000
4. - $60,000
where dafuq are the tier1 teams? sk, navi, nip, astralika etc etc
Post edited 2016-12-26 11:51:38
lets put all teams in group a yes yes yes
I do not see rivals for them in this tournament.
Only Godsent and envyus can fight with them
Post edited 2016-12-26 13:00:32
ps finaly tournament where Pasha can play against same skill lvl players as him even Taz can shine with his ,,AIM,,
Post edited 2016-12-26 14:34:51
Surprisingly the Chinese teams benefit from these
also the same goes with Ukraine and K23. there's even sadder.
bad quality,delays,shitty groups,shit matches
i can feel it in my ass

They lead to a point, where you miss dozens of good teams and all you get is a dozen of trash teams. The winner of this earns alot of cash, but nobody will care.
I like how they took the Chinese teams into other shitty groups.
And I like the fact that spaces and dp actually have chance to make some money thanks to the shitty group stage.
Group B: 1-iGame.com* 2-VG.Cyberzen 3-K23
Group C: 1-GODSENT* 2-Kinguin 3-Space Soldiers
Group D: 1-Ukraine* 2-DarkPassage 3-Tyloo
Also Jyp and Quetzal dont have much experience and Selfless has a new roster. So the other 3 team can easily finish group in top 3.Ranking might change.

and then look at group b and d
wtf is this? what a joke
Astralis lost to GODSENT in qualifiers
SK,IMM,NiP,Fnatic denied because they had another tournaments
Other teams no ideea
Ladder draw is a joke but everybody else said that already.
So donn't act like an asshole and don't imply i'm a VP fan. TBH i just accept them, don't like them over that acceptance.
But still, china proved to do tricks so their teams can do better.
B (difficult group actually)
Not only that, they fcking corrupt the groups so it will benefit the Chinese teams.
Chinese mafia at its best.
Well, how about just handle over that trophy to your own national team already?
B: VG, iGame, Colombia
C: Kinguin, GODSENT & SpaceSoldiers
D:Tyloo, Ukraine, Dark Passage.

ching chong fag fix this shit
Groud B & D - Jokes...
According to schedule. each group leader will direct advance to quaterfinal. Then, second place and third place of each group will advance to a plaoff that decide the last four spot of quaterfinal.
i hope others can read my comment and evaluate again the wesg draw whether is bring more benefit to chineese.
Tyloo and vg cant get easily by opponents in group a such as envyus, epsilon, kinguin and etc.
may be tyloo will have a better chance, but vg definitely not.
