k0nfig: "We didn't expect much vs G2"
Time: 2017-01-25 17:53
Game: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke answered a few questions about North's triumph over G2 in the fourth round, explained why his form improved, and told us which match-ups he wouldn't prefer in the last round.

The fourth round saw North fighting for their tournament life for the second time in a row, this time against G2 on Overpass. The Danes put up a great T side and came out victorious at 16-9, securing their place in the fifth round.

North survived the fourth round

After the match, we got a hold of Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke to ask him a few questions about their encounter with G2 and the upcoming fifth round:

It seemed like you had a pretty clear plan on the T side against G2, can you tell me what that was and how your offense went?

We anti-stratted matches before, so we know how they play, we played against them before. It doesn't really matter, we didn't expect too much, because they haven't practiced - they went to tournaments but they didn't practice, and we know they're a dying team somehow. We were expecting the same old G2 as before.

A little bit of a back-and-forth on the CT side for you, were there any issues there?

The only problem we had was on the T side, when we went B and they rushed three underground and two short, that was when we felt like this could go bad, we knew they had an eco and we had bad money, so it would fuck up our money as well. We didn't have any problems in closing out the game, we were just a bit nervous, it is our last life so if we lost the game it would be sending us home to Denmark, where we don't wanna go.

At the beginning of the event, MSL said you guys didn't feel on point individually, now it looks like you're getting back on form. How do you feel going into the last round?

I've had problems in these two matches, so I've changed the mouse, setting, resolution, I changed everything. And I play with my original interp now, I played with the wrong interp the whole tournament. So I changed it and somehow it actually worked today, so I played a lot of deathmatch, woke up happy, ate breakfast...

In the next round, there will be a few tough possibilities, like the loser of Astralis-SK and Gambit-FaZe, is there any preference?

We don't have any preferences, we know that these teams we have to play against are some of the best teams in the world. I think the hardest thing will be like anti-stratting someone who made new things, but we can't play Gambit and we can't play fnatic, so if the SK-Astralis game goes bad, we could go against Astralis, which would be the Danish derby as always. I think we don't even care, if you wanna be the best you have to beat the best.

Make sure to check out the other interviews we've conducted on the first three days of the Major:

K0nfig getting cocky again. I think he forgot last time he had "no worries" for the next match up.
2017-01-25 17:55:14
He is always so cocky but I actually like it now. I loved him in this interview from December where he was so cocky too :D

Well, considering that they barely saved their asses from being eliminated without winning any match (most of it due to Hellraisers' choke, might I add) makes him look kinda ridiculous. Not to mention that they did the same to Gambit and look what happened. But if this is his way of maintaing his confidence then I guess it's alright.
2017-01-25 18:37:19
Hahaha rekt

If it was someone like coldzera who said this there would be 100 threads on hltv about it right now, but since its konfig no one cares.

Hes right you know
2017-01-26 00:19:58
Cause coldzera is more relevant and has a lot of die hard fans (who sometimes are a bit delusional), grab some popcorn and laugh at the haters :)
2017-01-25 18:11:48
brutal :X
2017-01-25 18:04:45
idk how cant anybody see that g2 hasnt prepared ANYTHING for the major. They went rush B all the time, no tactics for CT side. Train - 0 ct setups, no T strats. Nuke - they were motivated, but still - mostly yard pushes and small fakes that i can run with random players on faceit. They did not practice because they split after the major obv
2017-01-25 18:06:06
Literally everybody is seeing that so your post made 0 sense
2017-01-25 19:03:32

That is just cold :D Not cool to beat a dead horse
2017-01-25 19:02:24
LOOOOL I love it when players just don't hold back after winning. good to see people with a competitive personality instead of just saying 'we played our game' and other shit like that.
2017-01-25 19:15:38
the bot frag speaks
2017-01-25 19:26:07
So after his shit talk, they got trashed by Gambit, they lost to Fnatic who also has some rumors going around such as G2, they only won against Hellraisers on overtime which on paper should not happen and win a game versus an "i dont give a f*ck" G2. They were basically a round away to elimination yesterday and he just did not use his original settings as a "professional".

This cocky little prick is just pathetic.
2017-01-25 19:51:59
Butthurt?
2017-01-25 20:11:54
Nah man, I just expressed my opinion. Your so called trashtalker sitting on a 0.86 rating because he is dumb enough to not use his own original settings on a major.
2017-01-25 20:16:43
"My" trashtalker?

Im confused..
