dupreeh: "I don't fear Na`Vi at all"
Time: 2017-01-26 05:19
Game: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Our last interview from the ELEAGUE Major group stage is with Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen, who answered questions about their matches with Liquid and SK and shared his thoughts on the Na`Vi match-up.

After losing to SK in overtime earlier today, Astralis were the last team to advance to playoffs with a confident victory over Liquid in the fifth round.

dupreeh is looking forward to the quarter-final with Na`Vi

The playoffs draw put them up against Natus Vincere in the quarter-finals, which Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen talked about in our last interview from the group stage. He also walked us through Astralis' point of view on their one-sided match against Liquid and the overtime battle versus SK:

A very straight-forward game against Liquid, talk to me about the match-up, how you expected it to go and how it went in the end.

Might as well just be honest, when we got Liquid in the draw, most of us were like "yes, that's the opponent we wanted", because in our opinion it was the weakest opponent we could get and a team we have the best map pool against, even though we can play pretty much every map. But against Liquid we knew we'd get a map we feel very confident on no matter what.

They've been really shaky this tournament, it was just a great match-up for us. I expected them to put up more of a fight, it was actually fairly easy, but I don't know, everything we did was pretty on point. We knew pretty much every time which site they were going to hit, and also individually especially Kjaerbye and device were on point. It was just great to get out of groups.

Let's go back to your loss to SK, which was a very tough battle, in the end you lost in overtime. Which rounds would you highlight from that match?

There's so many. I think it's been called the best game of the tournament so far, because there were so many ups and downs, overtime, clutches and all that stuff. We lost both pistol rounds and we didn't win any forcebuys, so in that way they were already leading 6-0 at that point. Despite losing the CT pistol we had a pretty decent side, we were really slow in getting the game going as Terrorists, but we ended up getting it to work.

Everything just got going, everyone was playing confident, gla1ve was making good calls, people won their clutches. We made a mistake when we had 15-14, we made a mistake in terms of what economy they would have, so the reason why we decided to hit A was because we were pretty confident they wouldn't have an AWP. When we dropped two guys in CT and coldzera killed both, then FalleN was on car with an AWP, we pretty much lost the round. Me and device probably could've won it, but they just outplayed us after all.

In the overtime we were up 2-0 and they gambled on the last round and stacked the B bombsite. On the CT side we lost two 1v1's in a row, and in the last round we just got slaughtered by three AWPs in a matter of ten seconds. I think it proved that we were mentally really strong, being behind 14-8 and managing to come back and keeping our heads high. I'm very proud of my team that we just kept fighting for it, so despite losing, I still believe that it helped us in some way, it proved to us that we can still win despite being behind.

Going to playoffs, you talked about being happy about the Liquid draw, you got Na`Vi in the quarter-finals which is quite the opposite. How do you feel about the match-up?

I haven't seen much of Na`Vi this tournament, they were playing really well from what I know, they only lost like twelve rounds in three maps, so that's really impressive from them. Getting Na`Vi is a match-up we have faced quite a lot, maybe not that much recently because they didn't participate in tournaments or in general didn't make it far.

Obviously, they're pretty much the team right now seen as the favourite because they've done so well in groups. Fair enough, they have, but we've done the same thing at previous Majors, just slaughtering everyone in group stages and then going into the playoffs being completely sloppy. You never know what's gonna happen to Na`Vi, this time we were sloppy in groups and we might be playing better in playoffs, we don't know. So I don't fear Na`Vi at all, I'm very much looking forward to a great match-up. I'm looking very much forward to playing the game and I'm just happy that we made the playoffs.

Make sure to check out the other interviews we've conducted over the group stage:

Maybe that's why you're not in a major and dupreeh is.
2017-01-26 10:28:45
maybe that's why it's better not to be in the major than being dupreeh who sucks hard and gets hard carried

the best you could find was 2015?
2017-01-26 05:34:35
I guess he found the game where dupreeh was the worst player on the map. So it makes sense.
2017-01-26 05:36:23

their most recent game lol
2017-01-26 05:37:01
16th of November 2016

now they are a different team, they found the way to play as a team. before they were justa bunch of top players/fraggers.
2017-01-26 05:38:25

This will be like the whole game tomorrow
2017-01-26 18:09:35
ez game lol
2017-01-27 20:14:15
yeah, don't be afraid. you will lose too fast to be afraid...
2017-01-26 05:30:54
Ya sure of that? LUL
2017-01-27 20:13:07
dupreeh: "I don't fear Na`Vi at all"

2017-01-26 05:32:12
NaVi 16-3 SK

Astralis 16-3 Liquid

SK is a much better team than Chokequid

To conclude, Dupreeh should be scared.
2017-01-26 05:32:25
Astralis is just as good a team as NaVi.
2017-01-26 08:07:43
As sk to be honest
2017-01-26 09:58:48
i can see NaVi losing on finals, against vp or sk cause of choke. Sk has in their favor the choke of vp against them in majors.
2017-01-26 11:43:03
Inb4 faze upset
2017-01-26 13:53:18
2017-01-26 14:23:35
And SK is also just as good as NaVi. Just because they get rekt in one match doesn't diminish the fact that SK have been performing to the same level or better than NaVi the past year.
2017-01-26 20:54:17
2017-01-26 05:32:43
Of course he is not gonna fear Navi guys. He is not even playing in this major... being carried by Device and Gla1ve
2017-01-26 05:35:19
next news: Na`Vi blow out Astralis in an easy way
2017-01-26 05:35:38
Well you should never be afraid of your opponent.
Fear and respect for the opponent are two different things.
2017-01-26 05:36:54
The funny thing is that no one asked him about his fears against Na`Vi. But he answered in that way... It seems like he really fears to play against Na`Vi.
2017-01-26 05:39:51
Agreed, mr. Freud
2017-01-26 10:46:55
Question was "you talked about being happy about the Liquid draw, you got Na`Vi in the quarter-finals which is quite the opposite"

Please have some sense.
2017-01-26 05:41:23
Dupreeh :

"I dont fear them!!! "
2017-01-26 08:18:57
Not what he said lol.. read the article.
2017-01-26 11:02:17
good for you :)
2017-01-26 05:42:10

2017-01-26 05:45:17

2017-01-26 05:47:16
You have to boy.
2017-01-26 06:10:54
It won't change the fact that you will be smashed by Na`Vi DEATH MACHINE.
2017-01-26 06:25:03
:DDD okkkk
2017-01-26 06:44:54
Navi gonna fucking rape Astralis so easily
2017-01-26 07:18:18
very good insight
2017-01-27 22:15:29
Anyone actually read the interview?
2017-01-26 07:21:22
you dont fear navi? you will!
2017-01-26 07:50:12
He is right. Amusing how when Astralis make great group stages, people still do not believe they can make it far. Now Na'vi do it and they are suddenly unbeatable.

2017-01-26 08:05:20
they did have ez groups in past majors but omg Not like Navi now
2017-01-26 08:20:08
The SK win was impressive, but the wins against mouz and Envy are really not that big of a deal - mouz sucks and Envy pugs. Navi are favored, based on the Major, so far, but do not forget how Astralis ended 2016, they are still very much to be feared as well.
2017-01-26 08:28:12
agree Astralis still one of the strongest teams on the major but for me Navi looks much stronger.
2017-01-26 08:33:19
Fair enough
2017-01-26 08:49:01
even though I am Na'Vi fan, the bigger picture of CSGO over last 6 months says that CSGO is so unpredictible and so volatile now that anything can happen. Group stage performance of the team should be taken into account w/o any doubt. But on that level, between very equally skilled & equally experienced teams anything can happen.

Simple & Guaridan are more or less consistent players, so are the Device & Kjearbye. For me it is about flamie & even more about Edward for Na'Vi & dupreeh & glaive for Astralis. Therefore, if both Edward & Dupreeh continue in a similar fashion as in group stages, Na'Vi will take it.
2017-01-26 11:09:22
It is a sound analysis and I agree. Astralis has been relying too much on individual performances and need more players to step up at the same time. Navi are favored, based on the group performances, I just do not think that they are as favored as many believe them to be
2017-01-26 13:17:44
2017-01-26 14:09:12
Maybe it has something to do with them choking every fucking time
2017-01-26 08:37:04
Like they did at the end pf 2016? Get your head out of your ass and they still often make it to semis, even when they choke.
2017-01-26 08:48:15
Like they did at every major. They either choke in quarters or semis
Astralis at the majors

We all know NAVI gonna win, though you have a point.
2017-01-26 11:34:55
Very likely, but Astralis has often been better, when they are underdogs. Hoping for the surprise, after all playoffs are a very different beast.
2017-01-26 15:55:54
why every stupid human(thorin etc) think that swiss system and gsl are the same?? u can get ez opponents in your group and take ez 1st place but u cant play only noob teams to get 3-0

everyone is dick riding NaVi way too much lmao. What happened in groups is long gone, major starts again now, and Astralis can beat them easily. So can Gambit or Fnatic

*John Cena pops in*
2017-01-26 13:55:27

ye nt!
2017-01-27 20:11:46
LUL Whichever team you are, you should fear NaVi atm. I think they're just shaking and he's like "NO NO NO, I DON'T FEAR THEM" XD
2017-01-26 09:52:56
I wouldn't fear them as well, way better map pool than Na'vi and Na'vi best maps Astralis is better than them on, expecting a nice close game 2-1 that can go either way depending on the maps and who is hitting their shots.
2017-01-26 10:09:44
lol no. Na`vi's map pool is the same thing as cheating in pro scene. you don't know anything about their map pool. They literally haven't shown anything for T side both on cbble and dd2 and we don't know their other maps and how they practiced them. It would get close on one map where Na`vi will prevail. 2-0.
2017-01-26 11:09:25
Na'vi only played 6 LANs with this s1mple lineup, this major is their 6th lan with s1mple, lots of mixed results, can't even gauge what their strong maps are, we haven't even seen them play t side yet at this major. I am wondering what map Na'vi will pick in that match, Astralis has a heavy advantage in this match because of the their map pool. Na'vi haven't played anyone good yet, Astralis is going to be their first test.
2017-01-26 19:09:46
"I am wondering what map Na'vi will pick in that match"

"can't even gauge what their strong maps are, we haven't even seen them play t side yet at this major."

These are the reasons why Na`vi will win this match
2017-01-26 20:36:58
Could be true really hard to predict what's going to happen in this match should be the best quarter finals to watch.
2017-01-26 22:53:43
I will told you about navi map pool
Cache permaban
Before major with simple.navi autolose in cobble but their domination in major +astra not good
Navi godly in overpass.they rape everyone outside dignitas
Train they dont play so long because everyone ban train vs navi
Nuke and mirage may be astralis first pock.almost mirage but navi not too bad
D2 navi loook strong when astra loseSk
Navi favor 2/3 map can play
2017-01-26 21:59:05
Well I picked Na'vi because Astralis is looking shaky this major not because I think Na'vi is a better team.
2017-01-26 22:50:29
nt faggot lul, ur gunna get fucked anyway
2017-01-26 10:38:06
Dupreeh:- "I don't fear 4:16 8:16 at all"
2017-01-26 10:39:25
s1mple and flamie will shit on them and device will be the only one in astralis with positive score
2017-01-26 10:42:24
2017-01-26 21:41:02
You will be...
2017-01-26 10:49:39
Never trust a Dane.
2017-01-26 10:51:32
dude i hate those smug danes fk em
2017-01-26 10:56:07
2017-01-26 11:05:55
yeah actually true, why would dupreeh care about the playoff enemy, he will bottomfrag anyways... no matter which team they r playing
2017-01-26 11:06:10
Astralis not being favourites and it only being a quarter final... could definitely see astralis beat navi.
The big problem would be that after that they would favourites in a semi
2017-01-26 11:07:08
>major semi-final favourite

pick one
2017-01-26 14:29:39
Astralis win only if game is going how they plan. If not - we saw what happened with Godsent - ass rape.

So after Navi test they will remember about Karrigan (but its too late).
2017-01-26 11:16:26
cmon dupreeh... we want the "there is no tomorrow" dupreeh... wtf dupreeh... play better ffs.
2017-01-26 11:27:55
What is with everyone riding NaVi's dick right now? Did u forget that astralis is one of the best teams in the world either? Their chances depend on maps and luck, not at who will rape enemy team more lel

Really hoping for great match between Navi and astralis tho
As well as I really wanna dupreeh to step up, he's one of my favourite pro players of all the time, sadly he's not doing very well recently :(
2017-01-26 11:55:23
cuz they showed amazing cs while everyone dominating on T side navi stomp everyone on CT and didnt show what they can do on T side
2017-01-26 12:01:06
top kek 16-2 rekt coming
2017-01-26 11:57:11
the good part of this matchup for astralis is that they ain't the favorites to go through here, which should favorite them psychologically
2017-01-26 11:59:49
Why fear Navi? They are good but Astralis are too.
Go Ast :)
2017-01-26 12:01:52
Astralis doesnt stand a single chance against Navi...
2017-01-26 12:04:31
great insight
2017-01-27 20:11:05
it was very close tho..XD
2017-01-27 22:10:30
gg already

I'd say its kinda 50-50 match. Will be close for sure
2017-01-26 12:16:20
Its all about maps i think. NaVi cant go Cache and Astralis cant go coble/d2. I think they gonna play nuke/overpass/train.
2017-01-26 12:22:45
I think would be mirage, overpass, nuke
2017-01-26 14:38:13
Nt but only talk no work
2017-01-26 12:32:00
can't even beat brazilians+1
2017-01-26 12:36:20
"never won a 1x1 dupreeh" zera, cold!
2017-01-26 13:01:35
Russians,ukrainians triggered
2017-01-26 12:46:10
Russians, Ukranians, Kazack, cis overall are happy, navi and most importantly Gambit are through, no one expected much from F3 nor HR really, so all cool.
2017-01-26 13:43:29
Poor Americans, their team was called out as the weakest :( :)
2017-01-26 12:46:48
The weakest from the draw. The weakest from the tournament were already 0-3 :D
2017-01-26 13:00:56
If dupreeh step up 60-40 for Astralis if not 60-40 for NaVi

Lets go Peter time to step up
2017-01-26 13:10:18
2017-01-26 13:14:49
can't wait to se dev1ce cry again xD
2017-01-26 13:28:01
damn he cried :(
2017-01-27 22:14:07
2014 dupreeh: "No more chokerino"

And we all know what happened
2017-01-26 14:06:39
It's funny so see how confident all semi-russians suddenly became, because of 3 easy games in groups lol. Let's see you all disappear from here in no time again, when Na'Vi goes out already in Quarters, Simple can't carry that team every match
2017-01-26 14:10:05
sk vs Astralis 19-17
sk vs. Natus Vincere 3-16

sorry dude, astralis is going to get rekt so hard tomorrow
2017-01-26 15:38:14
nt, only one gonna get rekt is sk by faze. Like one map will show the outcome of a bo3 with different teams on different maps
2017-01-26 15:56:21
Yes, rekted so hard. Navi was lucky to win 1 map :)
2017-01-27 22:07:24
That's why there's flamieGOD, if s1mpleGOD can't carry.
2017-01-26 18:05:08

2017-01-26 14:22:50

2017-01-26 14:29:43
2017-01-26 14:35:06

2017-01-26 14:44:38

2017-01-28 16:54:50

2017-01-28 19:07:24
This is exactly what you say when you`re afraid.
2017-01-26 22:53:53
Well, you should.
2017-01-26 22:58:34
2017-01-27 04:33:39
It will be awesome to see navi lose, and their fangay started being salty saying they are bot and they throw the game ahaha.

One short advise: Bet smart :)
2017-01-27 07:10:20
Cool stuff
Coming back from that 14-8 was significant indeed.
Sloppy at groups and maybe on point on playoffs? Sounds like a nice change.
2017-01-27 16:39:59
2017-01-27 20:21:55
well said dupreeh
2017-01-27 20:47:37
Yeah and u almost lost it. If it wasn't for the lucky eco win after the second pistol on D2, it would be done and dusted.
2017-01-27 20:50:29
Navi was lucky to win 1 map and got destroyed on Overpass.
2017-01-27 22:09:04
uhhh mad ?
2017-01-27 22:10:14
As if Na'Vi didnt luck out several times aswell xD
2017-01-27 22:10:56
And how can you say it was done and dusted when in the end Astralis won 16-10 on dust2?

Dupreeh was right not to be afraid and you were wrong :)
2017-01-27 22:16:47
Nice one
