ESWC qualification information

As every other year ESWC will arrange qualifications all over the world, today we get to know the first countries in line.

Even though ESWC lost it's main sponsor NVIDIA it will still be a big event 2009 as every other year. ESWC will arrange qualifications in no less then 16 countries and more is expected to come. Big eSport countries like the USA and Sweden can't be found in the list. ESWC however plans and discuss about several other countries. Dates, details and such about the grand finals are not much, but it's set that it will take place in June.

eswc without nVidia isn't eswc anymore, just like it isn't without paris :/
but still, it's going to be an awesome, thrilling event =)

ESWC has had events without nvidia before, and it was because of nvidia they moved to San Jose..

they've been doing rather well (surprisingly) - team EG canada could be a real challenge to some pro teams in my opinion.

I was reffering to this topic qualifications to ESWC, i doubt there's many high skilled teams from Canada to participate, but who knows.

no worries - mYm is the only team in poland that can play against fnatic mtw etc :) canada has more teams 'on the level' rather than 1 team that was blessed by a miracle of skill :)

brazil, denmark, usa, sweden, poland, russia, finland - doesn't play, but Ukraine will play with Madagascar, Tunisia and others... Be cool... :P haha

I miss Sweden (Of course) but also Russia, Turkey, Norway, Finland, Brazil, Poland(MYM?)and Canada / USA (New EG with old complexity and n0thing)

Yeah, I'm surprised too that they haven't included those countries yet.

All though it could be fun to see some of the listed countries join the international cs scene.

Yeah but I'm sure they'll allow teams from countries not stated in the article to qualify somehow. Because I don't think people would like ESWC without most of the top teams.

there might be a possibility that the G7 organization might be behind some fuss in this :) although Germany and South Korea are there, the main surprise, without a doubt, is the lack of Sweden in the list.
