Groups for WCG Ukraine announced

The groups for the Ukrainian qualifier, for World Cyber Games 2009 have been announced.

Sixteen teams have been divided into four groups of four teams each. The qualifier will kick off with Groups A & B, tomorrow at 10:00CET, followed by Groups C & D at 14:00CET.

The group stage will see two teams advance from each group, going to a single elimination bracket, playing best-of-three maps, which will be played on Sunday.

We have contacted the organizers of the qualifier, in order to secure HLTV broadcasting. The organizers are yet to reply with more info, as we have only received a reply stating they are interested in us broadcasting. Tune in tomorrow, as we will hopefully be able to provide you with HLTV broadcast from the qualifier.

But AG has improved significantly since recruiting valentinich! At first, they had some problems but now with all the training, things are looking really good!

HellRaisers lack consistency as much as I'd love them to win. We all know HR are unstoppable when they are on fire. (Markeloff, Edzie, ANGE1.. omg)

pro100 seem promising. Zeus has been playing the game of his life so far. They've won EM qualifiers with not much problems, but can they keep the momentum up? We'll see.

We have KerchNET, the ever consistent team of Ukraine. Starix can win matches on his own when he goes crazy.

and last but not least, A-Gaming. Arguably the best team strategically of the four. B1ad3~R's tactics are random as hell. And they also have one of the best players in UA, strike.


There is no telling who's going to win but I'm rooting for HR because I like Edzie and Markeloff. ^^

I know them abit because I love the competitiveness in UA CS scene. Always been watching them since A-Gaming's 3rd place at WCG 2007. XD

The only thing that disappoints me is, I think the good players are too spread out. I'd like to see Edward, Markeloff, B1ad3, strike, Starix (ANGE1&Zeus can replace anyone in there but B1ad3) in one team. I personally think they could challenge fnatic for top spot in the world if chemistry isn't a problem.

But then again, good players spreading out can be good too. It makes the domestic scene more interesting to watch. =)
