Event: IEM4 European Championship Finals

The Extreme Masters IV European Championship Finals is ready to enter the relegation stage.

With Group B concluding, we up next will see the relegation stage, to determine which two teams will advance to the playoffs. As predicted, the 2009 team of the year, the Swedes from fnatic, clinched top spot of Group B. To place second came KerchNET, following their solid defeat of Alternate, while mTw managed to get a hold of the fourth place (which qualifies them for the World Championship Finals, in a match where the Danes looked to lose in the end.

In the relegation stage, second and third place crossed from each group will be paired, playing on best-of-three match to determine who will advance to the playoffs. The relegation stage matches are as follows:

None of the relegation stage matches will feature HLTV. An additional two matches will be played to determine 7th/8th place and 9th/10th place. 9th place finisher will be the first in line to receive invite to the World Championship Finals, should a team drop their participation. mTw and MYM will play for $1,100/$1,100. AGAiN and Alternate will both get $750, but the winner will be first in line, to receive invite to the World Championship Finals, should a team drop their participation.

Weirdest European Finals ever.

mTw, AGAiN, MYM and Alternate were all teams I thought would get top 3. Instead we see Ravens, KerchNET and oXmoze...

I'm not saying they don't, but prior to the tournament you can't say you expected these rankings we've seen.

KerchNET, oXmoze and Ravens were NOT favorites to get top 3.

you're absolutly right but as i sas before it's a surprise on hltv.org. They can't know well each team.
For example : ofc for the moment oXz (not emL) didn't prove anything @international lan, so it's normal to think that they would lose.
On the other hand, french people knew that oXz can make a good performance because we follow them well.

The three best placed teams of each group qualified for the World Championship, but SK and fnatic are already qualified so they just made a table without them and thereof they could determine who to send to the World Championship.
