SK Gaming won the first tournament of the 2010 IOL season following a 2-1 victory over Crystal.

With H2k Gaming and Begrip Gaming both out of the race for a spot in the final, there was no room for complacency from SK against Crystal, and the Swedish giants were made to work hard for the win in a match that could have easily gone a different way.

On de_dust2, SK and Crystal could not settle their differences during the regular 30 rounds as both teams claimed 10 rounds as Terrorist. However, SK proved far too strong in overtime, not dropping a single round as they picked up a 19-15 victory.

The next map, de_inferno, began with SK the better once again, but this time around the difference between the two teams was slim, as SK managed a narrow 8-7 lead. Such margin did not impress Crystal, who proved a strong figure in the second half to win the map 16-14 and level the tie.

But on de_nuke it was a completely different story, as SK were just too hot for Crystal to handle, strolling to a 10-0 lead, before their opponents claimed their first round. With the scoreboard showing 13-2 at half time, there was no room for mistake for Crystal in the second half, but SK extended their dominant form to win the last map 16-2.

This victory sees SK pick up the first prize of almost €5,000 and a spot in the IOL Final 4. The third place went to Begrip Gaming, who moved past Ledpc 2-1 in a very close match.
