TG 2010 with almost €10,000 for CS

The organisation behind The Gathering have announced the prize distribution for the 2010 competitions.

The 2010 edition of the famous Norwegian LAN event will take place from March 31 through to April 4 at the Vikingskipet Olympic Arena in Hamar, with Counter-Strike one of the seven tournaments to be held.

The CS tournament will feature a total of 16 teams: four invited by the organisation, four who have qualified through a BYOC competition for The Gathering attendees, and eight who have been granted a spot through the online qualifying process.

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed the CS competition has been allocated €9,775 for the prize purse, to be distributed as follows:

1. - €6,100 + 5 DreamHack Summer tickets + Wildcard to DreamHack Summer Main Tournament
2. - €2,445
3. - €1,220

Contacted by HLTV.org, The Gathering staff revealed they are currently in the process of inviting top teams to the tournament, who will most likely be from outside Norway. For more information on the event, visit the official website.
