Soltec announce closedown

Soltec have announced the disbandment of their Counter-Strike team.

Though no-one from the Finnish Counter-Strike team has commented on the decision, the following message can be read upon entering Soltec's IRC channel: * Topic is '-FOLD-'.

This marks the end of what looked like one of Finland's strongest teams to emerge after the death of Powergaming last month.

Soltec, who announced last week the acquisition of Timi "aslak" Verkkoperä, were due to attend the Finnish qualifier for EPS Nordic.

The Finnish team had the following line-up:

Joona "natu" Leppänen
 Matti "SPIKEONE" Järvinen
 Joni "Freon" Huumo
 Ari "spin" Raimi
 Timi "aslak" Verkkoperä

Just because they folded? It's just good for Finnish scene if natu and the other old fellas quit and new blood joins. And I'm quite sure that the "young" players of Soltec will find a new team pretty soon.

they could have, but then who would they replace him with? the finnish scene is too small, they actually thought about folding the team already when VIDI left.

but to be fair, spikeone wasnt the only reason, but probably a big part of it.
