EG win WES Masters Cup #1

Evil Geniuses won the first edition of the WES Masters Cup with a 2-0 win over cbteam in the Grand Final.

The Americans had looked a bit rusty in their first encounter with cbteam, which ended with 19-11 in favour of the Norwegian squad, but this time around, and with the first prize of $2,000 at stake, they made sure to show a better face.

On de_nuke, EG started out as CT, and they did a good at holding the bombsites as they picked up a 12-3 score in the first half. Now as Terrorist, the American side conceded few rounds to win the map 16-6.

The second map, de_inferno, began with EG once again as CT, and though they did not look as hot as during the opening map, they did manage to secure a comfortable five-round lead when switching sides. In the second half, their good offensive play was more than enough to break down cbteam's defence, winning the second map also 16-6.

Kinda hard to know before the event that there will be issues in the finals, besides, then there were some good matches, so I do not see the big deal with us covering it to be honest..

Well they made childish decision, didnt accept H2k complaining and yesterday the situation was same with Alliance guys, and it ended up with default win for EG, what can you say about that?:D

Well, to be honest, then putting a top10 team like EG who is verified to be praccing at IOS up against a team from Moldova playing online is not really right either.. The cases could not be compared, and without knowing exactly what happened, then if all this is about is a single messed up Custodia log from a pro team verified to be on LAN, then I do not think they should be disqualified either.

I am not saying that EG cheated in some way, or something I am just saying that if u are making one decision example like they did yesterday for Alliance(no matter what team is,not mater where they come from, what level are they) it was completly the same situation as today with H2k they should make the same decision giving H2k default win, and i still think it is a joke event with this kind of decisions and childish acting from ReD.

But it was not the same, EG was verified to be at the the like most respected LAN cafe in the world, plus they are a team which has earned some trust. Rules are rules yes, but they should also be interpreted on a case by case basis, I do not know if WES acted correctly, but just saying EG should get exactly what Alliance did I do not agree with.

If anything they made the wrong decision about Alliance, but obviously it would be ridiculous to forfeit a known team like us who are playing from LAN in the [b]semifinals[/b] of a tournament. It [b]DOES[/b] play a huge part, even if teams get forfeited in groups, admins usually shape up when it matters.

rules are rules and if its happend to one team it should happen to another doesn't matter how known or if there on lan.. Offline matches should be played with anti cheat and screenshots simple !.. but in your defence you or alliance shouldnt get defaults because of it! and to not let H2K play for 3rd place is a joke because most teams played with stand ins.. including Playzone. Biggest load of bollox ever. WES admins need to clue up IMO ! x peace !

But still u were missing few custodia files, actualy from you and storm i think, which is contrary to the rules, every team would complain about that no matter that u are Top10 world, that u are playing in the semi-finals and that stuffs, but ofc as some guy said, eg is eg. :-) If this kind of stuff were happend to some event which is organized by ESL(with Aequitas files)they wouldnt forfeit you :D btw gl at World Finals, hope to see great action from you guys, and congratz about 1st place at WES.

Go, blame HLTV for covering events! They should cover just one (the-one-and-only-one) event per year - users should vote which one on the first two weeks of January, each year. Do you like that idea?:)

its just practice. EG is in europe bootcamping and want to play teams that want to win, why not? not just teams that wanna scrim just to see how they play and dont care if they win or lose, because its a scrim.

EG won the match fair and square, if you honestly think one of them was cheating or 16 bitting or w.e your retarded, they probably had 100 people watching them. pretty sure its hard to cheat when you have so many specatators. OH NO HE IS MISSING A SCREENSHOT. OVERTURN THE WIN!!!! lol ya right..

A few missing Custodia files and half-uploaded ones as well. I highly doubt they cheated, a profesional team like EG wouldn't do that.

Admins weren't that harsh on faults done by EG if you ask me.

Rules still are rules, and you are clearly biased.

Fact is that they gave a default win against Alliance for the same offences in the beginning of the tournament, so it doesn't really make sense, rules comply to every team, not just the small ones.

Gratz to EG. About the h2k - EG situation, it's pretty ridiculous. I think h2k know well themselves that EG weren't cheating but I guess whining is just in the nature of the cs scene. Although players should try their best to follow the rules in online competitions, the opposing team which of course have the right to do a dispute, have also the right to use just a bit of common sense and sportsmanship. They always have the choice of making a dispute or not making it and in these cases they obviously should just let it go. The rules are there to prevent cheating and abusing from happening, not to enable whiners to advance through ridiculous disputes.

lol,doesnt matter if u cheat or not,16 bit or not,rules are rules...
same thing happened in mibr vs 3d match(mibr won but some 1 used flashbug,admin decise give 3d that win),and wnv match(CPL Singapore,1 of wnv player didnt turn in his screenshot after winning that event,admin gave them no score either.That is how professinal events should be,now admin act like nothing happened when they allow a player play without anti cheats(Im not againest EG,cause theyr one my favorite team).what is the matter with WES admin???
