EG on top of Group of Death
Evil Geniuses have secured the first spot in the semi-finals at the Extreme Masters World Finals after finishing at the top of Group A.
The American team needed to win their last group match against mTw and hope for Frag eXecutors to beat mousesports and all of that happened as the German giants surprisingly fell 19-11 on de_nuke to an already-eliminated team.
As for EG, they lost the first half of de_inferno 8-7, but pulled off a nice comeback as Counter-Terrorist to walk out 18-12 winners.
EG: top of Group of Death
fnatic took advantage of mouz's slip-up to secure the second spot of the group, beating oXmoze 20-10 on de_dust2 after winning the first half 11-4.
Evil Geniuses are through to the semi-finals of the competition, whereas fnatic and mousesports will have to play in the relegation stage to continue alive at the Extreme Masters World Finals.

I most definitely did not expect this and that makes it that much sweeter. When I saw EG's final placing I made a bit of noice in my departments lab. These results prove that hard work pays off eventually. EG just needs to stay in europe consistently so as to keep their skills on par with the other top teams.

I'd cry tears of joy if this happened, but coL just hasn't been as active or consistent as EG. EG's been playin CS non-stop for the past few weeks in anticipation for this moment. Anything can happen but coL finishing at the top of the group just isn't very likely. I'd be surprised if they even made it out of group play.

The score was like 14 11 or smth like that. If fnatic would have won this round - 14 12 and enough money to afford competitive guns in next round. Instead they were pushed on eco+famasis round and . Really think this didnt affect the game?

You have to remember that Fnatic,mTw,FX, and Mouz had been playing together since early 2007, with SLIGHT changes to each roster.
EG doesn't have half the competition to play against in the us, so I guess its only natural that it took a year to get here.
