The 2010 season of the Electronic Sports World Cup seems to be nearing its start with the announcement of the first national qualifiers.
So far, only five national qualifiers have been announced by the ESWC, with Ghana also to stage a regional event, though the dates and location for its tournament have not yet been announced.
France, the country which will embrace the 2010 World Finals, and Romania are so far the only two European nations with qualifiers announced. The other three tournaments will be held in Asia (Iran and India) and in South America - Peru.
Below you can find the dates for these qualifiers:
Iran - 20 April
India - 14 May
France - 22 May
Peru - 29 May
Romania - 29 May
Ghana - TBA
The 2010 ESWC Finals, which will take place from June 30 through to July 4 at Disneyland Park in Paris, will hand out a staggering $63,000 in Counter-Strike: 1.6.
Oh wait..
And Ghana is a new exotic location for esports :D

And btw, one of the national qualifies has already being played, qualifying two teams to the national final...

It's not like they're done announcing qualifiers, or that it would hurt to bring new/other countries into the mix, as the best way to develop your own thinking is through others.

Newer markets is good for esports in general and CS in particular...plus it's not like people in sweden , germany etc are only ones passionate about esports...one doesn't see or hear others...because opportunities are very less and the societies are different....but passion is there.
This is a step in the right direction

GO K1CK :D
Football is not just about Brazil or England. The same goes to CS, it's not just about Sweden and Poland or Germany or whichever country. When people start losing interest in CS, nobody will care about how good your country is at CS. Nobody cares about the game anymore. Nobody wants to sponsor CS tournaments anymore.
Pretty sure more qualifiers will come soon. For the big guns.

nobody see that on wcg too :)
+1
And alot of them can't even get in their thick skulls that there are still many more qualifiers that are going to be announced.
wtf are the admins doing, seriously ? :\
not my fault that i have to deal with 15 years old kids who have no idea how life works but fair enough u r going to delete my comment
just give me one reason for the delete
and dont come across witch abusive behavior or off topic
As for your comments if the main comment is deleted all replies to it are disabled too. Though they still appear in your message/forum activity history.
i personally think that deleting ruins any discussion
thx for the answer
Disussions are surely respected as long as they are respectful too. Unfortunately, replies in this thread do not comply with it and, thus, were deleted.
sad that this site is ruined by such stupid comments just remember the decade votes ...
It is a pity but this is like any other thread an open discussion and things like that can happen.
IMHO:those teams from Ghana and Iran won't stand against even 6-7th teams in Sweden/Germany/Denmark/Ukraine or etc...They'll come to the tourney as statists,so interesting games will be able to watch from 1/16 or smth like that
From the other side,it is very good step by ESWC,developing CS in such country is a great idea, will see what will happen
hope for the US quali soon!
those first steps would be hard as hell,u never know what could happen, probably cs won't be popular at all
So we can wish only good luck to this idea,no matter what happen =)
I think it is better to regret the fact that we had done, rather than we hadn't
These guys try harder than most to attend just one big event and then also most of the times it just doesn't work out...leave alone the normal whines "we didn't get to practice vs top teams"...
CS will have a much better future and much more involved community if more nations are represented..its not like CS is played in only 10-20 countries... :)
gl to all the participants.
algeria, argentina, brazil, cameroon, china, colombia, croacia, france, ghana, greece, india, indonesia, iran, peru, poland, portugal, romania, russia, slovenia, tunisia, ukraine.
No Sweden, denmark, norway, finland, germany, usa, uk, spain, korea... :( I Think that national organizers will contact with ESWC and we will see more qualifiers soon..
