Evil Geniuses have reclaimed the number one spot in the United States after winning the ESEA V Finals with a 2-0 victory over Excello.

EG, who had placed third last season, this time fared a lot better, as they cruised to a first-place finish, without losing a single map in the entire tournament.

The American giants, who beat compLexity in the semi-finals, moved past Excello in the Upper Bracket Final (16-2, 16-13) and then in the Grand Final (16-11, 16-8) to secure the top prize of $6,000.

Result
ESEA Invite Season 5..
Evil Geniuses
2
Excello
0

As for compLexity, last season's champions, they have been left wondering what went wrong after finishing in fourth place, with defeats to EG and Loaded.

ESEA Invite Season 5 Final Placings:

1. Evil Geniuses - $6,000
2.
Excello - $3,000
3.
Loaded - $1,600
4.
compLexity - $1,000
5-6.
Damage INC - $700
5-6.
ULTIMAX GAMING - $700

after IEM performance , winning against USA teams was a piece of cake(?) :)

shit that was sick...

EG -gfn +evo and they would be top5 anytime
2010-03-14 20:50:12
I wouldn't take off gfn, he has really make EG rise a bit since he joined.
2010-03-14 21:13:47
i doubt he can do that on a daily basis :P
2010-03-14 21:14:38
eg is perfect the way it is. evolution still needs to grow up if he's ever going to get into a top team.

gj EG, will be still best in US with this lineup
2010-03-14 19:57:27
line up of Excello? :)
2010-03-14 19:57:43
CJ_B,hazard,PauLy,lim,jstone
2010-03-14 20:00:14
completely unonymous players or not?
2010-03-14 20:06:51
cj_b,hazard & lim are known, about those two(jstone & paluy) i havent heard about them at all :D
2010-03-14 20:19:18
jstone is known. He's played for a lot of teams and beat 3D back in the day when he played with naZ.

cj_b is not a good player. He has bad aim, but he's sneaky and knows how to gay really good. pauly is also horrible. hazard is not bad and lim is good.
2010-03-14 20:34:01
lol wut? you say pauly is horrible but hazard is good. Pauly is one of their best players... he's just very inconsistant
2010-03-14 20:54:07
cjb is a good player and fits well with them and pauly will become unstopable with some more experience
2010-03-15 16:27:40
EG have no competition in USA. They should bootcamp in germany more often, you saw the results :D

2010-03-14 20:39:35

2010-03-15 01:03:13
gz EG
2010-03-14 20:10:48
American dudes say CJ_B is terrible caller. Always guess wrong side and wrong setup. Do you agree ? And hazard's awping is good enough ?
2010-03-14 20:22:54
from what I seen Cj_b was just having some bad luck with his calls, his team managed to get second place so he did something right. Wasn't watching Hazard to much.. but he did have alright awp shots I guess.
2010-03-14 20:38:13
I hope EG will be able to bootcamp in europe again before any big international LANs :p
2010-03-14 20:32:20
Best part about this event is when eVo vindicated himself by pulling off a 1v5 against coL. I bet they were kicking themselves for ever kicking him off the team. lol

Amazing ace but it was not a 1vs5.

Though a 1v5 is when you're alone versus 5 and take them all out. :P
2010-03-31 15:26:59
EG is clearly the best in USA. Was hoping to see more from coL
2010-03-14 20:58:22
OMFG EG won? wow, who would've guessed...
2010-03-14 21:24:17
Excello line-up ??
2010-03-14 22:00:36
see post #14
2010-03-15 00:50:53
I hope EG will be top3 in the world:P gj though top1 at esea:P
2010-03-14 22:13:35
Expected =/
2010-03-14 22:19:03
expected, but coL? 4th?! :S
2010-03-14 22:22:27
you expect to much of coL. most over hyped USA team since "Ouch Gaming".. who was sponsored by Tylenol or something lol.
2010-03-14 23:45:55
coL's not over hyped. Up until this last season they were clearly the second best in the nation. How do you think they got into those international events, they won the qualifiers.
2010-03-15 00:38:49
indeed
2010-03-15 13:51:45
