HLTV.org has received first-hand info on the 2010 edition of GameGune, to take place this summer.

GameGune 2010 will be held from 22-24 July at Bilbao's Exhibition Centre (BEC), with the tournament once again taking place under the auspices of the Euskal party.

The competition, open to 32 teams, will feature a total prize purse of €22,500, which is the exact same amount handed out at the event last year.

Teams can already start applying for an invitation by sending an email to gamegune@euskalencounter.org, after which the organisation will select who will be invited. The registration price is set at €42 per player if paid in advance, and €45 if paid on location.

The last two GameGune editions were marked by the last-minute dropouts of some teams and by the absence of some world-class names, mainly due to e-Stars Seoul taking place at the same time in both years.

With GameGune announcing its 2010 event more than four months in advance, chances are this tournament will finally have the CS cream in action.

Hope the dates wont collide with e-Stars this year, otherwise I'm sure it will be another world-class event, like the previous years.
2010-03-17 01:37:52
I'm pretty sure e-Stars will announce it on the same date :)

EDIT: Can anyone participate if they pay signup fee ?

No. As every year, GameGune invites some teams, others ask for an invite. We select teams from those lists, so only invited teams will get a spot for the tournament.

Yes, I know that myself, but he wrote that signup fee is 42$ per team. Why pay signup fee if teams are invited by GG orga?

They are so kind and invite you to pay the signup

The invite is for the spot, no for the entrance fee. GameGune is played inside Euskal Encounter event, so every single participant has to pay the entrance fee of the main event (which is a 4000 people BYOC with 20 Gbps Internet conection).
