WCG India in the making after all

gamebashing.com reports that India will feature a qualifier for this year's World Cyber Games after all.

On Saturday HLTV.org reported the WCG qualifier in India was in jeopardy after the company that had organised it since 2001, Indiagames, had decided against hosting an event this year following funding issues with the WCG.

But fresh speculation in the country claims there are two other companies - Re-Inforcement and Xtreme Gaming - ready to step up and organise the WCG qualifier in India.

Xtreme Gaming looks to be the company with the higher chances of hosting the Indian WCG qualifier, after Re-Inforcement was confirmed as the organiser of the ESWC qualifier in the country, but the WCG has not yet approached either side.

Last year, the very same funding problems made ATE, the winner of the qualifier, miss out on the World Finals, after Indiagames refused to pay their expenses to Chengdu.

i think, they have bigger sponsor than mentioned one...isn't it? Right now Reliance group, Mittal, Tata.. blah blah are leading companies in the world.. why not they come forward to help them .

ATE is the best. After that 3GP and NSD , all the clans are from MUMBAI. ATE represented India in WCG 2006,07,08 where they gave though competitions to teams like alternate and others.

wcg has been hapening in our country every year, we dont have sponsors to go to wcg international the scene aint big in here like the other countries, ppl are nt willing to sponsor a bunch of kids who play a video game lol, its jst like that in here, anyways we dnt go and get fkd and come back like "some" people do we :)

this could be some really exciting news for the majority, but the same being practical is the tough part . It might be true that re-inforcement and xtreme gaming is trying to tak up the events , but i guess there is a huge hidden licence fee amount for organising the event regionally which the majority are unaware about ,i think it was like more than 10-15 lakhs previous year for ESWC? ..so even if re-inforcement or XG take the initiative to organise the event , they still will require the help of some major sponsors to conduct the event properly , hope it all ends up well :) GL XG AND REINFORCEMENT :)
