eSports Awards 2010 announced

Turtle Entertainment GmbH has announced that the prominent eSports Awards will this year be held at gamescom, in Cologne, Germany.
The annual edition of eSports Awards will, just as last year, be held during the gamescom convention in Cologne. Awards will be handed out for numerous categories, such as eSports Player of the Year, Scene Journalist, and eSports Team of the Year.
Last year's edition of the ceremony saw fnatic ace Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund receive a total of two awards, whereas his team received the prestigious eSports Team of the Year award.
Although the exact number of awards have not been averred, it is believed that we will see a similiar sum of prizes which was bestowed last year. Nonetheless, gamescom will be held from 18-22nd of August, attracting thousands of spectators.

lol, cover? Really? Posting 3 day old CS news, all sourced from us counts as actually doing coverage? We are on-site every time, we provide HLTV and demos, stats and Dreamteam, galleries and videos, what SK is doing is hardly coverage.. Rather do one game properly than 10 games bad..

Rofl SK puts your site to shame, no offense but having galleries and short paragraph news posts isn't that much coverage why dont you have Power Rankings, Indepth Interviews, Features, Video Interviews, Playbooks, etc like SK? the only thing you have on SK is just your news posts that is it, as for event coverage they are still far superior but you guys are improving each year who knows!

if you really want to go into depth about esports coverage, then there's no real site that has great coverage for all games.. hltv is for CS, teamliquid for SC and gosugamers/(i don't play wc3) for wc3..

Ok so let me cut it out for you, we had interviews before with hooch and khrystal, we had an analysis of each group, we had video interviews during Arbalet, we had stats during Arbalet, we had analysis of the WMF vs utd case, we had HLTV and POV demos, we had galleries, we had Dreamteam, we had a few highlights of aces, plus we hosted ALL the HLTV, we had updated groups and brackets, stats tied to all POV demos, and our news were out faster than SK's on all occasions, now tell me, exactly where did SK beat us? They might have done a few more video interviews, but no povs, no HLTV, no HLTV demos, no stats, and no galleries..
But whatever, you obviously do not visit HLTV.org during events, so you have no idea what kind of content we actually provide, which makes the discussion pointless, but do not say that SK provides more than we do, it is simply not true.

HLTV.org is clearly the best source for CS news but i do wish there were more interviews with players.
I also find that the same players get interviews too often, I've seen a thousand interviews with cArn and GTR but not one with DSN.

We try the best we can with the resources we have, but we always strive to improve.. About the same players, then that is often because we go and ask the team for an interview, and they always send the same guy, in some cases because of their knowledge of English, in other cases just because the others don't like to be interviewed I guess, I can try suggesting to Nix he pushes for some other players, but often I guess you'd rather have someone who actually like being interviewed giving it..

WOW one video interview, my point is that they do not do those things ENOUGH, 75% of the content on this site is just news posts, have multiple interviews per week, rank domestic leagues and international overall, analyze the top teams playstyle and tactics at every event, create playbooks or video tutorials of top teams/players, DO SOMETHING OUTSIDE THE BOX, not the same old shit every day, and one video interrrview of a very large event is not enough sorry, and demos do not count as "features" but im glad my post literally made you laugh out loud that is pretty hysterical and speaks volumes about you. And the fact is SK still gets more traffic on their CS articles than this site.

I am actually not sure if the award for best coverage site is in the award-lineup this year. There is no word of it in the news on turtle-entertainment and the eSports-award homepage is not up2date.
But what's the point of this award anyway? There are so many projects. Some of them are covering different games, some of them covering only one game.... If I remember correctly there is a user vote? So which site can gather more votes, great! ... Pointless.
