fnatic have announced they have parted company with Björn "threat" Pers.
The decision comes just days after fnatic's disappointing quarter-final exit at the ESWC finals following a 2-0 defeat to Natus Vincere.
Pers joined fnatic in January on a permanent basis after helping the team win the World Esports Masters at the end of 2009 while acting as a stand-in.
He also played an important role in the team during the first half of 2010 as fnatic won Arbalet Cup Europe and placed second at the Extreme Masters Global Finals, but the poor displays in Paris ended up taking its toll on their line-up.
"Today we are parting ways with Björn 'threat' Pers. Our results lately have been a bit questionable and our play in-game hasn't been what it once was," Harley "dsn" Örwall told fnatic's website.
"We felt we needed a change to keep the team strong, fresh and motivated for the upcoming tournaments. We would like to wish Björn the best of luck and thank him for his time as a friend, teammate and player in FnaticMSI."

This leaves fnatic with a four-man roster just one week before GameGune, with reports in Sweden indicating the team are planning a move for ex-MYM star Marcus "Delpan" Larsson.

I think they will recruit either Delpan or moddii. Me and my friend discussed who they would recruit and we come to the conclution that it probably would be moddii because he is kinda' good with the AWP but he doesn´t have the same skills with rifles as moddii. I expect SK-Gaming to kick RobbaN and walle and recruit zet and Delpan/moddii (depends on who recruits who first).

I'm sorry, but that is just a retarded post. Why would SK kick anyone when things are finally going their way? And Delpan isn't "kinda" good with the AWP, he is arguably the second best AWPer in the world, second only to markeloff, and that says a lot. Also, I'm not sure I agree on moddii being a better rifler, 'cause Delpan is great with rifles as well.

dust train and also inferno. A 2 AWP defense on inferno is quite deadly, as one man like Delpan could cover the banana by it's own, leaving 4 in big pit. Dsn as an awper on mid, and you have that covered two, it means that house and balcony will be defended by 3 man, that's thight for other teams.
On train a 2 AWP defense is killer, and on dust, well dust2 is delpan's map, so he'll do good on it.

I still consider frod one of the most amazing awp'ers. He's very consistant and his playstyle is just amazing.

Threat is a great player, but unfortunately somewhat inconsistent. Since the word around the campfire is that Delpan is gonna take his place, I have to admit that it seems weird to me, it doesn't make sense unless Harley gives up awping.

Of course there is no such rule, just common sense, playing two awps is somewhat risky as you can lose a round much more easily. Dsn is great with rifles I agree, but I'm still not convinced about Delpan.. his awp is uncanny, but not sure about rifles, guess fnatic guys have better insight into that. Still best of luck to him if he joins fnatic, from an inet hero to the world's best.

They want to find back the good form and chemistry they had with Gux. Gux compared to Threat was more like a very skilled player they used to make the entry frags and hold some places by his own.
I think the best choice would be MODDII cause he's got a similar profile as he's very skilled and can do the job easily. The thing is I'm not sure moddii can feat with fnatic game as he looks a bit "savage" if you get it.
Delpan would also be a good choice but it would be stupid not to use his awp skill as he is with markeloff the best specialist. Dsn can awp and it doesn't look like fantic likes to play too much with awp except in some occasions.

I don't think it's too fair to pin their failure lately on threat, that's like Fx's decision to replace LUq when they started losing...as you can see it's done Fx no good. Threat actually did pretty well in my opinion but maybe there was a chemistry problem that I couldn't see as a spectator, who knows...
On a side note, it'd be awesome if blomst4r came back out of nowhere and joined, he was always my fav player when he played :D

Delpan =DDD is one of the smartest player out there and he needs to be in a big team because thats where he belongs. Doesnt matter if he uses rifle or sniper he is still one of the best.
But I prefer to see him with awp. :)

if you haven't noticed, dsn isnt awping quite as much as he used to. he also isnt as good with it as he used to be. and third of all, you've been able to see both f0rest and GeT_RiGhT use awp on occasion, so why wouldnt Delpan fit into the team?
personally i think that has been one of few weaknesses in a team like fnatic. they really havent had a REALLY good awper who's not just amazing on occasion but can manage to remain stable and hit his shots time after time in the team for a long, long time.

I wonder if Delpan will be the best choice for fnatic and I'm also wondering if they have made a thorough analysis of current available top players in Sweden. If they have, manne has to be an option. Sadly I believe they only tried Delpan and no one else. Kind of the same mistake they did with THREAT. They should pick out a handful of potential players and then try them all! I guess time (1 week to next event) is against them though.
