k1ck win GameGune qualifier
k1ck eSports Club won the Portuguese qualifier for GameGune with a 2-0 victory over Paranoids in the final.
Held at the CJM LAN house in Matosinhos, the Portuguese GameGune qualifier attracted 18 of the country's strongest teams, who were playing for one of the two spots for the finals in Bilbao later this month.
k1ck and Paranoids had met each other at the ESWC qualifier last month, but this time around they crossed swords in the final, with Paranoids presenting a slightly different roster as João "ehz" Monteiro was acting as a stand-in.
A good start from k1ck saw them win de_tuscan 16-6 after being up 9-6 at the break. On de_inferno, k1ck win the first half 11-4, and Paranoids still tried to make something in the second session, but k1ck gave them little room for maneuver as they won it 16-8.

k1ck and Paranoids have both qualified for GameGune 2010, which will take place from July 22-24, with the former having paid expenses to the tournament.

i respect your opinion but i disagree a bit. in portugal you can find a lot of "skill/talent/intelligence or something like that". In the PT actual scene, you see a lot of more close games, despite k1ck still the top1 without no chances for any other PT team. and why they still ? because here, they can have and compite with the same condicions to play and then, the "skill/talent/intelligence or something like that." from k1ck player's speaks from itself. so if portugal had better condicions, i think that we can surprise a lot of people.
oh, one more thing... CS in portugal is not only fox. he is the top player of portugal yeah, but PORTUGAL have more awesomes players...

Well with all due respect, asitde from SHOUWWW/axoN in ESWC, I think the other portuguese players, coachi(br) included, had a bad display...but I agree with scattered awesome talents, maybe if they put them all togeether in a lineup..?
But what I meant is, FG hasn't the best conditions here too, they don't train with top international teams etc, only with CNB that has international experience and such, but you can see they have a high enough level to go face-to-face against fnatic and other top teams
and I didn't mean Portugal was just foxJ but you can't deny that he's BY FAR the best portuguese player...right?

-people prefer to cheat inet

Another problem is the chain of hate and the feeling that we always outsmart others.
When you play against some team that is stronger than yours then, 90% of the times you assume that they cheat and turn on your wh.
Also, people who know top pt players don't want to fall behind and turn on their wh thinking that no one will suspect just because they have their top friends and crews.

Would have really been surprised if another team had won. It is always the same in portuguese CS. There is kick... and than in a veeeeeeeeery far distance faaaaar behind kick there are all the other portuguese teams. It is like in Germany: Portuguese CS sucks because it is so boring (of course I don't speak of their game style, it's just because it's always the same, as in Germany, there is mouz, far behind is attax and then somewhere there are the others. What I really like is french CS, because there are more teams meeting on a very hight level and of course swedish CS.

Actualy I've to go with mmmmmmicke on this one, Alternate in 2008 claimed some 1st places with mouz attending, there was a always rough fights for the 1st between mouz and Alternate, but only when roman was in Alternate, I remember a match from Alternate against mTw on train, where they recovered from a 4.15 to a 15.15, but lost on overtime. Still they were considered by some the top1.ge team at the time.

Yeah, right, but the way they were playing had already changed. With the lineup stated above they were unpredictable while playing with pan, approx and roman they were still confident but the gameplay was less attractive. I liked attax when they played offensively I had the impression that although they were even faster than any opponent they still put effort in teamwork. It was like really fast-paced chess, that's what I liked :-)
