n!faculty have confirmed to HLTV.org that Benjamin "paN" von Mulert has stepped down as player to become inactive.
The German player had been in n!faculty's ranks since joining from Team Alternate in January.
He had voiced his wish to be on a hiatus from gaming when the season came to an end, and he has now decided to take such words into action.
"He has become inactive, so he will not be joining another team," n!faculty Daniel "chillkroete" Schöneck told HLTV.org.
"He has had this idea for a long time, and now he has decided to take a break from esports.
"Maybe he will be our sixth player for the next EPS season, he will think about it in the next few weeks."
Von Mulert, who spent three years at Alternate before embarking on n!faculty's ship, helped the team to a third-place finish in the EPS league last season.
His decision leaves n!faculty with a three-man roster, following the departure of Vinh "ninja" Bui Thanh earlier this month.
n!faculty have been strongly linked with a move for Bastian "b4d" Gaffron and Matthias "teAk" Czaja, but Schöneck affirmed the pair are not under consideration.
"b4d will not return, and teaK is no option for us as a full-time player," he added.
n!faculty now have:
Christoph "chrizzo" Krämer
Max "ODIE" Knappe
Jérôme "shiddy" Tóth
