Antwerp Aces pick up DeKMaTcHeR

Antwerp Aces have announced they have added Decio "DeKMaTcHeR" Pinto on a permanent basis.

The Belgian player acted as a stand-in for Antwerp Aces at GameGune last week, helping the team to a 13-16th place finish at the event.

He has now earned a permanent move to Aces, stepping into the shoes of Ivan "Apollo" Wuddhisukhum, who has opted to step down as player to become inactive.

"Overall I think we had a better campaign than the previous ones," Pinto told HLTV.org. "We passed the group stage with much more confidence with a strong performance against the French team Prodigy-esc.

"I felt we could have done better against Fnatic, but that’s not the team you expect to grab some points

"In the brackets, however, we faced the Brazilian team CnB on de_train. We started of pretty well with a 7-2 lead on T side and felt really confident. Unfortunately we couldn’t finish them off and CnB made a strong comeback and managed to take the game.

"Actually we’re quite happy with our general performance at Gamegune despite the lack of luck in our last game against wCrea."

Antwerp Aces, who are hoping to attend DreamHack Winter providing the Benelux will hold qualifier for the event, now have:

Trust me Magik, I have a lot of respect for Apollo, he has been a star for the belgian scene a long time, but at this time, 2010, I find Deci a lot better than Apollo

I remember some game..last year i think where Apollo made some nice headshots vs Sweden ( f0rest gtr etc ) you lost it 1-2 in the end though.

Apollo is a good player with a lot of experience, but I think his mindset has changed, I think he doesn't have the energy anymore to put a lot of time in cs

I wouldn't say legend, he only is playing at the top for about 2 years now... Apollo is a Belgian CS legend, because he is been around since 2002/2003 something. When I was team captain of Belgium (2005 till 2007), Apollo was already in the team for several years. I never heard of Decio back then. n/o against the player as he played for me in the past, just my opinion :)

Im back in CS just few months and before, when I was palyin, I wasnt interested in Belgian scene. Now, when Im back in CS, I must say Ive heard really much about DeKMaTcHeR. And I think we will hear more :) Btw his nick is horrible :D
