DSRack LAN #3 with €76,200

DSRack LAN #3 has been announced with an astonishing prize purse of €70,000, seeing €25,000 in Counter-Strike 1.6 alone.

The event will take place in Denmark's capital, Copenhagen, at the Kroeger's House, 18-24 October, which involves a total areal of over 1,000 square meters. The organizers have moved it to a new location, not surprisingly as the prize purses are sure to attract hundreds.

A grand and staggering prize purse of €70,000 has been announced to go with it, whereof €25,000 will be handed out in Counter-Strike 1.6, if the tournaments are filled up with enough teams.

Game genres and prizes:

Counter-Strike 1.6 - €25,000
Counter-Strike: Source - €25,000
Call of Duty 4 - €20,000
StarCraft II - €5,000
Heroes of Newerth/DotA - €1,000
Bowling - €200

Regarding Counter-Strike 1.6, there will be two tournaments. First out is a Bring Your Own Computer (BYOC) competition which will see 32 teams, followed by a 64-teams invite tournament. The latter means that the teams do not have to bring their own computers.

Moreover, HLTV.org has received information that teams such as Power Gaming, Meet Your Makers and Playzone.fi have been asked over for the invite tournament, and that there are more to come.

Stay tuned to HLTV.org as we'll keep you posted as more teams are penned down on the invitation list.

Compared do DSRack Lan #2 where they removed CS 1.6 and only had a 3.000€ prizepool for CS:S, this is fucking huge. :)

2010-09-03 20:33:33

2010-09-05 00:10:25

2010-09-03 14:27:25
... so clueless
2010-09-03 14:52:23
why do you say that?
2010-09-03 15:00:47
As I said bellow, I'm not a CSS'er, far away for that actually, but the game has been becoming better and better with those updates, you gotta admit that.

CS:S isn't that bad game at all, yes, CS is better, but comparing to other games that get a huge prize pot, CS:S is a good bet as they have a big scene, to be honest I don't doubt that they will fill up the 64 teams to get the 25k prize pot.

Also, the CS:S scene is Denmark is huge.
2010-09-03 15:02:58
Thank you.

And you are correct. CSS is getting better every day, and the Danish scene is huge.
2010-09-03 17:42:09
yeah 25k$ for CZ CS:S <3
2010-09-05 00:12:04
whatever, Verygames is gonna win anyway
2010-09-03 23:32:17
I didn't say they wouldn't
2010-09-04 00:12:49
there's no doubt about it :D
2010-09-04 17:11:59
Exactly, they are just too good =]
2010-09-04 20:36:51
Better with the updates? You gotta be kidding. Valve is doing nothing but ruining their games, this happened to source and almost to 1.6, thankfully they realized to remove all the shit they came up with.
2010-09-04 01:05:42
Are you insane?

You have no idea of the CS:S competitive scene do you?

Sigh, they have been upgrading important stuff that makes the game even better
2010-09-04 01:23:58
Well I started playing source back in 2005 and it was a lot better then. The new crouch-system sucks balls, the new radar is ok but the old one is preferable. And now some freaking achievements? This is not tf2 ffs.
2010-09-04 10:03:58
i wish i would see more cs 1.6 teams playing css just for the money :/

instead of dedicated css teams ...

because esports sponsors are the same in 1.6 and css, so the more attention and attenders, the more gain for them. Quite simple. And then, sad as it is, denmark is a big css country ;)

remove cod and cs:s from the list and more money to 1.6 and sc2!
2010-09-03 14:23:54
Counter-Strike: Source - €25,000? They should give 10k more in CS 1.6 instead of CS:S
2010-09-03 14:24:40
+1 :x
2010-09-03 14:27:38
css>1.6 in Denmark
2010-09-03 14:29:04
wrong... CS1.6 is still biggest comminity in denmark..
2010-09-03 16:42:46
Can't agree with you there. What do you base that on?
2010-09-03 17:42:43
I'm a Dane? all prize money on tournament in Denmark are showing you, CS1.6 is still best and most proffessional... But CS-source had more players than CS1.6 but they are almost 10-15 years old, they are not joining our comminity or something..

so CS1.6 is still largest comminity and most proffessional.
2010-09-04 10:34:07
In Denmark Source is bigger than 1.6
2010-09-03 15:03:15
Lol'd , I don't know anything about CS:S but you guys got mTw , wCrea in CS 1.6 and this game in Denmark is less popular than Source..
2010-09-03 15:05:47
Well, in Source we got a lot of great teams - more than we got in 1.6 :)
2010-09-03 15:33:07
nowai, it's Denmark, bro
2010-09-03 16:08:45
I see now ;-)

lol very nice event :)

invite fx ;).
2010-09-03 14:27:20
yet another tournament, looking great
2010-09-03 14:27:41
remove css and 50,000 for CS 1.6 and you will get a decent tournament, now you will get 2 tournaments which are just not good enough for the world top to attend.
2010-09-03 14:27:44
25k euros isn't good enough for the world's top CSS and CS teams? Please share whatever it is you're smoking.
2010-09-03 16:02:00
`Due 25k is more than enoguh, most of the teams, if not all, are going to be from Europe, why wouldnt they attend with so low costs ...?

2010-09-03 15:26:49
yeah I play both cause I'm not a crybaby
2010-09-03 15:44:47
hahaha bowling xDDDDDD
2010-09-03 15:23:22
Prize money should be swapped between bowling and cs:s. The first one actually requires some skill.
2010-09-03 15:23:23
thats funny. Seeing as I have never heard of you. I doubt you are any good at either 1,6 or bowling.

2010-09-03 15:47:11
damn 64 teams! WOW
2010-09-03 15:32:30
A new tournament with a prize pool of 25k coming up, and all you do is bitching about CS:S...

2010-09-03 15:49:54
Bowling is Esport? :D.
2010-09-03 15:51:30
i think everybody from all games are gonna bowl togetter.
I bet Zonic wins.
2010-09-03 15:57:27
Scrap the 25k tournament for CS:S and put up a 30k pile for the Starcraft 2 tournament instead so we get to see some big names.

CS:S is just a playground for 1.6 rejects anyway.
2010-09-03 15:58:45
Once upon a time this was true, but so not true these days =P
2010-09-03 17:14:39
If you want to show how moronic a large part of the users on HLTV.org is, simply put CS:S in a news post.

Seriously, rejoice over the fact that there'll be another great CS 1.6 tournament with a large pirzepool instead of whining about CS:S. Can't be that much fun acting like a spoiled 5 year old, can it?

inb4 lolol CSS fanboy xD
2010-09-03 16:07:16
25 grand for css? lol'd
2010-09-03 16:23:17
What!? the biggest prize here in Arg was $15000, that is near to 3000 euros...
2010-09-03 16:26:21
15000 in denmark is not as impressive as it is in argentina
2010-09-03 20:33:38
That is my point...
2010-09-04 05:43:57
I'm not sure
I'm saying that it's logical that such prize are not given in argentina, is it what you were saying?
2010-09-04 12:26:31
Yeah, i'm saying that if you read that a tournament of counter strike has such a prize as 25000 euros, with that money here you can almost buy a house, or at least buy a new car.

Comparing it with the prizes that our local tournaments, it drives you so impressed ...

2010-09-04 23:34:33
fair enough then
2010-09-05 12:26:41
I love this! A lot of great games with nice prizes.

The 1.6 is well close to the usual ammount of winning prizes in 1.6?

CS:S prize is huuuge for Source, gotta love that! And with e nice CoD4 compo aswell, it's just crazy times in denmark!

People who complain about the bowling tourney, please be quiet, it's about "bonding" and having fun. No need to rage over it, it's probably just a random sponsor for it anyways = )
2010-09-03 17:17:57
Im not complaining, it should e obligatory for any event ;D
it just was funny that it was announced as part of the tournament with prize money and all,
the only thing I complain about is the source prize is just to high, its a disrespect for 1.6, but i guess its cool if you are into 1.6 obviously

2010-09-03 23:54:45
Well, the denmark 1.6 scene might be strong, but the Denmark CSS-scene is even stronger = )

And it's never disrespect to try other things
2010-09-05 21:25:08
I should have said its a disrespect for me as a 1.6 player XD then it must be very good if youre into css scene, if they have the money and the fanbase then maybe 25K for css is ok, I just didnt know dk.css was so big
2010-09-06 11:10:54
kinda much :X
2010-09-03 17:31:13
Cool the 1.6 community all here raging about source :) "wow 25k for source amazing"...I see u dont remember CGS when we had a MILLION prize money. I was sure that every 1.6 fanboy was going to get here and post -source +1.6 ...usual...but u should check some CSS news website too like www.cadred.org . cumps and gl to both games.
2010-09-03 17:43:56
not raging, more like surprised, but what you expected, hltv.org is mainly i mean only 1.6 ,so?..
2010-09-03 23:57:34
yeah, mainly close minded 1.6 players who arent any good at 1.6
2010-09-04 10:36:39
close minded yes, but not even good i cant say anything on that since i dont play against other users of hltv that I know of exept some brasilians, but many top players hang around here under hidden nicks, or some even use real nicks like Getrigth,Delpan, lurpiss etc
2010-09-05 00:22:29
25k for source, wasting of money...
2010-09-03 19:06:00
fuck you ignorant.
2010-09-04 00:21:19
gtfo n4p
2010-09-04 02:42:58
Not then you look back at the last lan in denmark, cause there have been way more source teams. sry to say that but it is the fax.
2010-09-04 11:32:10
i didn't know that. but IMO 1.6 is much more popular then source , and its harder to become a cs1.6 pro then source.. so the price for 1.6 should be higher.
but I'm not asked for anything here :p
2010-09-04 14:39:43
Your opinion about what's most popular is completely irrelevant, when CS:S in fact IS more popular in Denmark.
2010-09-04 18:00:25
nice yeah
2010-09-03 19:59:16
idk why 25k for css but i hope we can see great matchs

Huge delays coming, all players trapped at the Bowling booth ::)
2010-09-04 00:12:21
ofc! u know what comes with bowling.
2010-09-04 02:15:06
ex-putas will participate?
2010-09-04 02:45:23
they should remove 10k from css to starcraft 2 ...its a shame css gets the same prize as cs 1.6 :/

i see css as more of a recreational game ....like if ur 1.6team doesnt have any current events u could always join a source event for the money :/
2010-09-04 09:41:22
if you think of it as recreational then you're a moron plain and simple.
2010-09-04 10:36:14
youre thinking is recreational it seems

stop talking nonsense
