Former compLexity members Andrew "Irukandji" Timmermann and David "Xp3" Garrido have told their story about their release and explained the situation in an interview with fnatic.com.

Drama in the American side compLexity lair as the organization dropped their Counter-Strike squad on Wednesday earlier this week due to three members failing to board their flights to China for the MSI BEAT IT tournament.

The story tells that Thomas "thoMz" Garcia had supposedly forgotten vital documents just hours before his flight was bound for departure. As soon as his teammates, Derek "dboorN" Boorn and Kevin "aZn" Wang, were notified with the situation, they came to an mutual agreement to not make the trip.

The compLexity management, when having gotten the facts laid on the table, called the team's action an outrage towards the organization and event organizers, also pronouncing them the most difficult group ever to have been dealt with, pointing out the constant turmoil within the team.

Now alone in China, Andrew "Irukandji" Timmermann and David "Xp3" Garrido have shared their sides of the story with fnatic.com, as well as explained the situation.

Seen this on fnatic website.

Well, what I can say, MSI are great for paying all the trip and so on.. And coL, its NEVER good when you late to your plane, but HELLO!, as Andrew said, management should be more responsible and helpful in this situations.. They could pay from their own pockets, so whats the point of releasing them before tournament and long practise. The manager rather get his beauty sleep instead of helping the team members who are stuck in another country, cool

respect to players
2010-09-04 01:05:06
why is everyone blaming thomz when he or his team offered to still pay for a re-booked ticket before coL released them or ignored their phone calls? i don't agree with him forgetting his documents but everyone is human and mistakes occur and coL has to be able to step up and help solve the problem, not cut their players while two of them are already making the trip assuming coL would take care of everything.

It is his fault completely for forgetting his documents. If you are going to get on a flight to another country you should make sure you have your documents. When I flew here to Korea I probably checked 20 times to make sure I had all my documents. There is no excuse for forgetting paperwork. What happened after with Jax is not acceptable by any means but it all stems back to thomz so that is why everyone is blaming him.
2010-09-04 04:23:56
interesting
2010-09-04 01:24:14
it's thomz fault bottom line, this interview should've been like 1 minute long. he kept on making excuses and saying it was their fault anyways.. wow what a joke
2010-09-04 01:34:54
baillers )=
2010-09-04 01:35:04
No respect at all from col.
2010-09-04 01:38:26
sounds like they were a team of deadshits, whoops I forgot my visa, whoops I forgot to catch the plane, if I was the manager I would do the same thing.
2010-09-04 01:39:32
xaxa faiL ))) yeap +1 no respet...
2010-09-04 01:39:55
sorry but if thomz didn't miss his flight, it won't even happen
2010-09-04 01:49:50
Oh come on, they're just trying to be the good side of the story which is exactly the same as what coL did.

Both of them are unprofessional. End of story. They need to stop pointing finger at each other and just move on.

And the team was going to pay for thoMz ticket? That's a joke. Considering how horrible the relationship between the players, I believe that kind of sympathy is too good to be true.

did you watch the video? irukandji was going to pay for thomz ticket. i highly highly doubt irukandji had anything to do with the finger pointing and whatever else, and its the same guy who got on a plane so xp3 wouldn't be stranded in china alone.

Did you watch it? You can't just believe what Drew said when he says he would of paid out of his pocket when he also said he wouldn't know if he would have money to get home if he was stranded in China and thanks to MSI for putting them up. Its a nice thing to say he would of paid, but you can't just take him at his word.
2010-09-04 04:26:54
i didn't take him for his word, but the "team" wasn't getting involved to fix anything, drew was. whether i believe him or not has nothing to do with whether i watched it or not.
2010-09-04 20:21:15
thomz and therefore the team obviously failed, but still jax should have tried to rescue them in that situation, or am I blind?
2010-09-04 01:51:48
no you are right, jax is the manager of the team.. he should have been on that... whats that nerd got better to do? hes so fat:O
2010-09-04 03:32:02
i don't see how you can say that if they were making the attempt of getting another flight so they can play in the event and were willing to pay out of pocket. how is that fair to the team? they express that something happened and were doing everything possible to fix it but they were released and ignored for it? i don't agree with dboorN and aZn not getting on their flights just because of thomz that's just bad. as far as i'm concerned they are both to be blamed for what happened as well... along with coL.
2010-09-04 01:53:17
Its Like when you can not pay ur hotel bill u gotta wash dishes.....
Same with them now they gotta do interviews, commenting and may b serve water to other teams xD
2010-09-04 01:56:18
Its Thomz's fault. He doesnt miss the flight, they'd all be in China. But Thomz decided to turn off his phone and goto sleep.
2010-09-04 01:56:30
have a nice vacation! eat lots of moosho iru!
2010-09-04 02:04:39

I like how the kids here, especially the Americans, think that coL is this flawless organization that's the paragon of eSports in North America.

NEWSFLASH: The reason the old coL left for EG was because Jason Lake took way more winnings than he should have and totally screwed fRoD, Storm, and Warden over.
2010-09-04 03:14:17
Complexity's history as an organization isn't the topic right now though. It's the actions of the group who ran under their banner.
2010-09-04 03:46:13
SHOUTCAST FOR THE MATCHES!!! DREW!!! PLZ!!! :D
2010-09-04 03:26:49

i see both sides but im gunna be listening to coL. MGT complains that they whined too much etc. but they SHOULD listen to the players anyways...especially seeing how drew, hero, thomz etc. have been playing with eachother(ho homo) continuosly for years now...i think they have a better idea of whats going down then the mgt, seeing they just stand there and look pretty in their suits
2010-09-04 03:43:06
Seems almost like coL management needed a reason to cut the roster, and found one
2010-09-04 05:31:33
th0mz is just very irresponsible and careless on important situations..you should GROW UP th0mz im sure he feel very a shame on what he just cause..even letting Irukandji and xp3 being spectators who supposedly be players :D
2010-09-04 07:04:58
Take this retarded fucking interview down. This is just shitty players with shittier excuses trying to cover-up their own incompetence and negligance. Who the fuck forgets their Visa when traveling to another continent. It all stemmed from his fault. To be that half-assed with someone elses money is fucked. Not to say coL management is perfect. It's almost as incompetent as the players themselves. But hey, shitty players, shitty management. Works fine for me. :)

Get your shit together Jason Lake. Fire your managers and run coL with the iron fist alone like you used to have or liquify the coL brand and find something more worthwhile to invest your money in. You have obviously lost your passion for the industry if you trust people like Jax with your company. Saddening, this would never have happened with the old coL management (Jason Lake not sitting on his ass).

It's incompetence like this that will keep American E-sports from ever progressing to a reputable level.
