mTw add ArcadioN for Sunde

mTw have announced they have decided to replace Christoffer "Sunde" Sunde with Timm "ArcadioN" Henriksen.

The surprising move comes little over a week after the team were involved at DSRack LAN #3 and Komplett Gamer Challenge #2, being denied of a place in the final at both events after losing to local rivals Full-Gaming on the two occasions.

Sunde had been with the team since joining NoA from Spirit of Amiga in 2007, helping them to their finest period in history, with victories at events such as KODE5, ESWC Masters and WCG.

He will curiously be replaced by Timm "ArcadioN" Henriksen, one of the two players who filled in for him last year, when he was away on vacation in South America.

"For a long time, pretty much since Jonas (whimp) and Muhamed (mje) left the team, there has been a different vibe on the team. Personally we haven't gotten along very well lately - and with recent DSrack and Slaplive results, it was obvious something drastic had to be done," Sunde told mTw's website.

"There have been different solutions proposed and in the end, it was decided that without me on the team some of the tension would decrease. I have earlier considered the possibility of leaving the team because I didn't feel 'at home' anymore - I felt the team was splitted and I could not see any solution. This is without a doubt one of hardest things I've had to face, but at the same time it feels like somewhat of a relief.


Sunde: no more mTw

"Whether or not I will quit playing CS I can't really give a straight answer to. Obviously I need to start looking for something else to do now, but my passion for CS will never die. I won't say I have any expectations, however if the right offer or opportunity presents itself I won't be shy to take it."

Henriksen, who has left DSRack champions Full-Gaming to embark on a new journey, helped mTw to a second-place finish at Arbalet Cup Europe while as a stand-in.

With Sunde not available anymore, it looks likely that Martin "trace" Bang is expected to assume the sniper role at mTw, which he has been doing infrequently.

well I agree that having 2 captains does seem kind of unnessecary, unless both are madfragging aswell.

I wish they never had dropped sunde, have always been an admirer of his awping.
so Id have liked to have seen sunde zonic trace and then either minet, or friis/karri (so that mTw has got 2 great awpers and trace indeed can purely focus on rifling, in which he might be the very best if hes not awping)+ ave or arcadion :P but I dont think they will be dropping either, and maybe ave will step it up more once he gets used to not calling anymore and just focus on his own game (which is hard for IGLs, trust me)

1st of all...i wanna say i`m sorry for sunde...although i fancied na`vi at the latest wcg event...2nd cs has become an industry and that`s somehow bad...doesnt matter how many years a player sticked with a team, if he`s out of shape - gets replaced..with whom? it`s irrelevant! Friis`s fans should rewatch the game vs Lions (with delpan) before move him to mtw. Arcadion is a good player, but just because he does great on fg , doesnt mean he will 100% continue on the same line at mtw...i`ve seen good players moving at top teams just to return after 1-2 seasons. Arcadion has done great with mtw before as a standin, and on team denmark :)

besides that, he has been in everysingle major team in denmark besides mtw. He has been number two for so damn long, and kept playing. Thats why he is a good choice...! :)

well he was playing like 10% of the 2008 sunde, so it was a bit expected, he was the worst of the team in most of mTw matches this year

friis would be a 10x better replace, since he's a sniper, karringan would be a good 2nd option too... anyway mTw now have the best 3 danish aimers: zonic + trace + ArcadioN

For a long time, pretty much since Jonas (whimp) and Muhamed (mje) left the team, there has been a different vibe on the team. Personally we haven't gotten along very well lately - and with recent DSrack and Slaplive results, it was obvious something drastic had to be done. There have been different solutions proposed and in the end, it was decided that without me on the team some of the tension would decrease. I have earlier considered the possibility of leaving the team because I didn't feel 'at home' anymore - I felt the team was splitted and I could not see any solution. This is without a doubt one of hardest things I've had to face, but at the same time it feels like somewhat of a relief.

Wheather or not I will quit playing CS I can't really give a straight answer to. Obviously I need to start looking for something else to do now, but my passion for CS will never die. I won't say I have any expectations, however if the right offer or opportunity presents itself I won't be shy to take it.

At last I would like to say that it hasn't all been a sad story. Some of the best moments of my life I have had in, and with, the mTw family. I've had countless of priceless moments when we were out travelling the world as well as laming on ventrilo :). I want to thank the mTw organization, Lars & Markus especially, for a good time and a solid partnership. This is not a goodbye to mTw, but it is goodbye to the cs1.6 team. I will never forget my time in mTw.int and I wish them good luck in the future.

i used to respect mtw, and think zonic was one of the best and consistent players around. that being said, they have now killed like 3 top danish teams who could compete with the rest of the world. first they take sunde, then they take trace and minet, now they take arcadion himself. Me and ArcadioN have always been calling and making strats together, but someone needs to lead in some way and take control, so it wont get too confusing and so, ArcadioN being that person for us.

We called strats at each site as CT-side, and then i gave him inputs at T-side.

The only thing different lately(being the two events we just attended), is that i called more strats than earlier.

he was looow for a very long time now. Clearly the weakest link. We discussed with some guys from hltv.org after WCG final that they lost because of lack of sniper like markeloff who just hits his shots. IF they had had sunde from 2008 they would have won it. markeloff is crazy with big green but hes also very good with rifles. ArcadionN is crazy with rifles havent seem him playing AWP. Sunde was low with AWP and rifles. Clearly frustration in mTw team reached level when smth must had been done. Its like with LUq and AGAiN. Poor Sunde, he used to be one of the greates. Thats propably why they skipped WEM.

Trace and Zonic always played at there best in group stages but in Playoff mostly they failed few examples like ESWC Semi final vr Na'vi , WCG final vr Na'Vi then few games with Fullgaming but sunde was the man who mostly top fragged in playoff Vr Na'Vi in ESWC and in WCG he played very well.
Adding Arcadion is a good move or not the time will tell but mTw will not be the same without sunde he is the BEST and against big teams like Na'Vi , fnatic , Sk etc he was very good . Feeling sad for sunde . GOOD luck in future hope you find a good team.

It wasn't a bad move at all... everyone who says "-minet +friis/karrigan" should think twice imo. Minet is a youngster who's probably not playing on his full potential. And don't be blind, he's really good! They already had a very good sniper with trace, so adding Friis wouldn't bring as much to the team as the addition of ArcadioN. Arcadion frags a lot, and he's knowledge of counter-strike helped a lot to FG when they beated mTw. He can easily take trace's role and he was a threat to the former mTw squad so removing him from FG was the best choise mTw could make. It's all about team chemistry. mTw will do good. ;)

OMG? I can't believe what my eyes had just seen! WTF? Sunde ALWAYS, and has ALWAYS been a decisive player for mTw, even if he is in a bad form atm. Every player that has been the best in the world once, can be the same again. Removing Sunde is the most stupid decision imho. They should've been a family like they were before. I still can't understand why they kicked their best sniper they could ever get in Counter-Strike 1.6, and not only a sniper, a decisive player too? (this is a rhetoric question ofc)
I will so miss this guy (Sunde). :(

It's not about how good u are, it's about if the team works or not.

I was the surprised that the chemistry was bad on the mTw... But if people have too diferrent personalities it just won't work out... I'm sure Sunde did the right thing...
