The World Cyber Games commitee has announced that Counter-Strike: 1.6 is amongst the games featured for the upcoming edition.
Joining CS in the first-person shooter list are South Korea-based games CrossFire, developed by SmileGate and Neowiz, and Dragonfly's Special Force.
Despite the recent licensing problems with Blizzard, the American video game developer's most famous titles, Starcraft II and World of Warcraft have both been picked.
Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne is also part of the list in what could be looked at as a strange choice, as most of the professional WC3 players have migrated to Starcraft.
''This year WCG selected world's most popular titles across every genre in competitive gaming today,'' said WCG Senior Manager of Publisher Relations Sean Lee.
"WCG values gamer feedback and we have determined that the announced titles are among the most popular and challenging titles available today."
Meanwhile, the WCG has announced that more titles will be added to this nine-game list, among official, mobile and promotional games.
WCG 2011 game list:
- Tekken 6 (Namco Bandai Games)
FPS (First Person Shooter)
- Counter-Strike 1.6 (Valve)
- Crossfire (Neowiz Games/Smilegate)
- Special Force (Dragonfly)
MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game)
- World of Warcraft: Cataclysm™ (Blizzard Entertainment)
RTS (Real Time Strategy)
- League of Legends (Riot Games)
- StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty™ (Blizzard Entertainment)
- Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne™ (Blizzard Entertainment)

(sorry I don't know shit about the SC2 scene)
The player who won IEM (Ace) lost in his first round in GSL code A (top64-32) in korea a few weeks ago.
moon and ace are both out of code A
"unfortunately koreans or players who practice in korea are already so far ahead"
All I'm saying is that the qualifiers are still quite some time away and all the players are practising very hard. The qualifier will be extremely tough and many great players won't make it but I just think it's unfair to cross Moon out before the actual games.
That's my opinion,

Only reason LoL is so popular is becouse its free and suits casual players.

There is so MANY aspects missing from DotA in LoL.
You can't deny is just one big fucking ugly example. The skill level is way lower than in HoN and in general doesn't require as much communication as HoN/DoTA
Love WCG! See you guys in Korea!
It's the mod to change 1.6 in future.Right now it has lots of bugs and needs improvement.
I understand you very well,It's har to give up something you love and having fun from...But you can play cs promod as well as play 1.6,I mean at a time :)

* Tekken 6 (Namco Bandai Games)
Nice, gonna watch.
where SC2 ?
* League of Legends (Riot Games)
* StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty™ (Blizzard Entertainment)
* Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne™ (Blizzard Entertainment)
+quakelive, trackmania, dota, hon
Special Force (Dragonfly) what is it?:D
crossfire and special forces games only in korea.
wacraft3 community is now in stacraft2 80%, 200 ame games in wcg of RTS.
Fifa is better in console, in pc is the shit..
get a new games and communities to wcg ..
+call of Duty
+stret fighter iv
CSS is way better than those 2 fps games and is much bigger than COD.
It's free, competetive and easy to play alone, but hard to play as a team.
Realy nice to see CS and LoL in there, sadly no LoL qualification in Estonia or Balticum.
BUT 1.5 was definately a mod yet the cpl featured 1.5 which means you have a point here ( cf comment 106 & 142 " yes dota can be picked even if it's a mod " in theory )
I would like to see there League of legends too :)
What WCG will do without counter-strike? I guess they just sank, cuz counter-strike fans "draw up" about ~100.000 spectators. If they will remove this game,WCG popularity will fall down. And it's all.I guess Counter-strike will be on WCG gamelist about till ~2013. ( sorry for my bad english:D)
If you are wondering where to download the game from, it's www.sfront.ijji.com
why LoL though? HoN > LoL...
