WCG picks CS for 2011
The World Cyber Games commitee has announced that Counter-Strike: 1.6 is amongst the games featured for the upcoming edition.
Joining CS in the first-person shooter list are South Korea-based games CrossFire, developed by SmileGate and Neowiz, and Dragonfly's Special Force.
Despite the recent licensing problems with Blizzard, the American video game developer's most famous titles, Starcraft II and World of Warcraft have both been picked.
Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne is also part of the list in what could be looked at as a strange choice, as most of the professional WC3 players have migrated to Starcraft.
''This year WCG selected world's most popular titles across every genre in competitive gaming today,'' said WCG Senior Manager of Publisher Relations Sean Lee.
"WCG values gamer feedback and we have determined that the announced titles are among the most popular and challenging titles available today."
Meanwhile, the WCG has announced that more titles will be added to this nine-game list, among official, mobile and promotional games.

tbh he is a great player but he does not have the skill lvl of MVP, MC, Nestea, Nada, marineking etc. and i don't see him advancing to WCG above any of them.

He definitely does have the skill level, he merely has to practise more. I didn't think that SanZenith had a chance in his group but he 3-0'd it, beating MvP & July while he was at it. And his games on Saturday were extremely solid as well.
All I'm saying is that the qualifiers are still quite some time away and all the players are practising very hard. The qualifier will be extremely tough and many great players won't make it but I just think it's unfair to cross Moon out before the actual games.

m8, i don't know if you were looking on W3 scene, but if you don't see Moon playing at the highest lvl in that game, you make me laugh. I think if only he will practice more he will be capable of winnig every opponent.

to very different games play-wise, were WC3 was very micro based SC2 is a lot more macro based, and a lot of the players coming in to SC2 got a lot of experience playing on a quite high lvl in SC:BW, i am not saying that moon can't play at the highest lvl but as i see it will take at least a year for him to reach the very best.

There is so MANY aspects missing from DotA in LoL.
You can't deny is just one big fucking ugly example. The skill level is way lower than in HoN and in general doesn't require as much communication as HoN/DoTA

As for me, it's always good to see Starcraft 1, but to be honest it's only logical choice for WCG organizators to remove Starcraft 1 and put SCII instead, because it can generate much more viewers and money. As long as Starcraft 1 will last in Korea, it will last on the whole world, so I don't even care :)

Glad to see that Special Force finally got recognized/picked up, for all you haters it's actually an amazing game with unique game-play and a awesome community. Yeah sure the graphics wise isn't the best but compare that to cs 1.6? In Korea, Special Force is ranked in number #2 in most completive/most played and now seeing that WCG might pick up Special Force I know the game in other countries such as USA/CANADA will make it more competitive and more people playing the game.
