Eight teams moves on from the second group-stage at Xperia PLAY, entering the final stages of the tournament, which will be played in a best-of-three map single-elimination bracket.
The second group-stage has settled, seeing sixteen teams being cut to just eight remaining. In the "Group of Death" also known as Group B, Lions came short of scoring any points, losing to SK and fnatic, the Swedes decided to leave WO against munkka. SK got the bragging rights against fnatic, sealing a 16-10 win for the top spot.
Danish stronghold mTw topped their group, despite a loss against Online Kingdom in the last match of the group. Joining them in the playoffs are Moscow Five, who advance based on a better round difference than Online Kingdom, with who they were in a three-way tie with (alongside mTw).
In Group D RG-Esports secured first place in the group, following a 16-14 win against TCM-Gaming on de_inferno. The Danes will despite the loss move on to the playoffs.
The last match to finish was Frag eXecutors against mousesports, a battle where the two teams tied, meaning the Polish team advance in first place, with the German squad following in second.
The picture for the playoffs has been painted and the bracket looks as follows:
Frag eXecutors |
vs. | TCM-Gaming |
mTw |
vs. | fnatic |
mousesports |
vs. | RG-Esports |
SK Gaming |
vs. | Moscow Five |
The quarter-finals is scheduled to start at 18:00CET, with semi-finals to follow at 21:00CET. Grand Final and third place decider is scheduled to begin around midnight.

ffs its up to date and u do not open it this sucks !
What a joke.
If their rule set says something you SHOULD follow that rule even if YOU disagree with it, they made the rules (which say stop at 16 & count the +/- from ALL matches) and should stick to them.
PS. If mTw lost by 2 more rounds, 100% sure this rule would not have applied because there is simply NO WAY mTw would have dropped out when the rules were on their side.
//My two cents, won't be answering so no need to respond

The rulebook had a flaw, we've seen it before, I genuinely just hope tournament could invest the time needed, producing a proper rulebook, to avoid such things. It's a 10year old game for crying out loud.
and there have been many times when there have been teams faceing off way to early where they would have been the final game etc... games like navi vs mtw early in the playoffs... and many groups of death...
and with a double elimenation bo1 the 2 best teams will allways meet the in the final (allmost)
plus 1 game in a bo3 can be extremly long (wcg 2010)... and a double elimenation bo1 tourny is much much more spectating freindly
sry for my bad english
it isnt first time that it happen, man. in every tournament this rule is on.
But i guess that would take some time ^^
this happened to x6 too? difference of rounds tied to mousesports?
WHAT A FAIL TOURNAMENT! WHY THEY PASSED? I WANT A VALID REASON AND A PRINT IN RULES BOOK PLEASE! WHY THE GAME BETWEEN M5 VS. FACE! DIDN'T COUNT?
ONE MORE TIME, FINNISH TEAM GOT DOWNTRODDEN, NOW COPENHAGEN GAMES.
Welcome to Russian Mafia! 2000e and you pass! Deal or no deal?

16 - 7 dust2 Group C
i think this why.
face! has lost to everyone; why should it be counted to the round difference... Imagine other teams except M5 were playing with them starting on the most preferable side... and M5 on nuke started as T... it's the same as starting on train on T... If M5 were playing on CT first the score would have been smth like 16-5... and them OK is also out..
They should have had this in the rulebook though (not sure if they did or not, but most people claim no), as it's kind of unfair to arbitrarily make up a rule, even if it makes sense.
It's not the case now, but imagine if 3 teams tied up in 15-15 in all matches with themselves and won against another 4th team like 16-0 16-1 16-2, u think it's really fair that the team who won 16-2 is out?

mTw
mouz
SK
then
Fx 1-2 mTw
SK 2-0 mouz
then
mTw 1-2 SK
Fx 2-0 mouz
=D
rg mouz
really close games these 2. Other 2 should probably be easy...
Btw M5 will lose very soon, dont be so angry!)
The admins/arrangers even said to one of the teams something like "have you counted the round correctly because, EVERY GAME IN THE GROUP COUNTS".
This is what I find irritating.

Another fail by you! Keep going
Quote me the rule of COPENHAGEN GAMES that can prove it!
and thing that sett.fi quoted has a valid source? if it has then give me to see it, please. and, i think that they r not that stupid to set some rules, and then use different ones l8r.

mTw: +1
M5: 0
OK: -1
whats the problem?
hang ur self.

if 3 teams are tied in points and a won b, b won c and c won a, it's always straight goal/point difference which counts :)

Recent matches
OK vs mTw (16-8)
OK vs Moscow Five (7-16)
OK vs face! (16-8)
OK vs PULSIVE (16-2)
OK vs Lions (16-12)
mTw of fnatic xDDDD
GOGO FX! I hope they start playing a good game since now, becuase till now they played normal[bad] cs!
in name of NEO!!!
is it like this in most of the tournaments?
well i can understand they need to make their own rules in cs. because it would suck if they had same rules as football or ice-hockey.
Still pretty lame to leave one match out of calculations in case of a tie.

Cheering for RAGE tho, I like their offensive strats.
to SNG, WCG 2010, not to face NaVi in bracket
to eSAHARA (15-15) (were winning 15-13 and when knew MYM won SK, lose 2 rounds not to face Na'Vi in play-off), IEM euro 2011
to coL, IEM world 2011 (NaVi again)
to OK, Xperia Play 2011 (trying to screw M5, i think)
fuck mTw
Spawn
Fisker
Vilden
nice line-up.
Valeriy Meladze

I'll be watching Mouz vs RG. Good to see Mouz back.
But I can't affirm it with 100% sure, just as satanioN said, at least in HLTV.org there is no print/file of Xperia rules-book (unfortunely)...
The thing is that we (people who are not at Xperia PLAY) can't see those rules.
I mean, it would be nice if someone post them in HLTV.org
There is no need to put the rules online, just take a print/photo wtv of the specific part where is stated the "round diference" rule.
How fine it'll be if the rules were stated here!
ONLY and ONLY if all 3 teams have the exact same rounds is the 4th team kicked and round difference counted again
if AGAIN all three teams have the same RD then they need to replay the matches between the 3 teams
only logical conclusion to me :/
oh and it needs to be MR 30 not MR16 in groups IMO
